Chapter 3500: Martial Aunt (17)

Chapter 3500: Martial Aunt (17)

Yi Youxuan saw Ning Shu’s petty behavior—stowing the egg away as if someone were going to snatch it from her. She was so small-minded. What did Yi Youxuan lack? Why would she covet a single egg? Her immortal estate was filled with baskets of such eggs, though they had long since rotted. She had only taken a second look because she noticed signs of life within it, yet this woman had immediately hidden it.

Filled with disdain, Yi Youxuan accelerated and flew to the front.

Ning Shu ignored Yi Youxuan’s contempt. Her disciple’s belongings were hers to handle however she pleased, and she certainly did not have to show them to anyone. So what if she did not? It was not as if she had reached into Yi Youxuan’s pockets to look at her things.

“Master…” Ye Heyu called out.

“What is it?” Ning Shu hummed in response.

Ye Heyu clearly wanted to say something, but he did not speak. Ning Shu focused on steering her flying sword.

The master and disciple ahead of them were flying at top speed, while Ning Shu took her time. This was the first time her two disciples had flown such a long distance, and she did not want them getting motion sickness. She flew slowly, though she made sure not to let the other two out of her sight. Ning Shu placed a barrier around her disciples to prevent them from wobbling or falling off.

After flying for more than three days, they finally reached the ocean.

This was the first time the siblings had ever seen such a magnificent expanse of water. In an era where travel was difficult, few people ever left their homes to see the world beyond. It was time-consuming and dangerous, especially in a world filled with mountain spirits and monsters.

“Brother, so many fish! Such big fish!” Ye Meiyu pointed below and cried out, her face flushed with excitement.

“Some are spirit beasts that will eat people or attack those passing over the water,” Ning Shu warned.

Ye Heyu could not take his eyes off the scene. Looking at the vast, boundless ocean, a sense of grand ambition rose in his heart. “Master, will I be able to go anywhere I want in the future?”

“As long as your cultivation is high enough, you can travel a thousand li in a day. Your spiritual consciousness can roam between Heaven and earth, reaching up into the void. There is nowhere in the world you cannot go,” Ning Shu said.

This was why cultivators viewed ordinary mortals like snails—slow-moving, short-lived, and fragile.

“That is wonderful…” Ye Heyu took a deep breath, seemingly catching the salty scent of the sea, and sighed in admiration.

The world had suddenly become incredibly vast, and his destiny had changed. He no longer had to be stuck in a tiny mountain gully. A much wider world had appeared before him. He was excited, shocked, and barely able to contain himself. His fate would be different from now on. Ye Heyu looked at Ning Shu flying ahead on her sword. She was his master, the one who had changed his life. He smiled. He would become someone with a long life, an immortal who could fly and tunnel through the earth. He was going to become one of those immortals from the storybooks.

In the distance, they saw the violet hue of Zisha Island.

“Master, is that where we will live? The color is so beautiful,” Ye Meiyu asked.

“Yes. From now on, you will cultivate with me. There are many other disciples there, as well as stern elders. You will have much to learn,” Ning Shu said. “Do not be nervous. There are people there who pursue the Immortal Dao, people with shared goals. No matter what they do, it is all for the sake of power—to become strong.”

Schemes and power struggles were all for the sake of strength.

“We understand, Master,” Ye Meiyu said with a smile.

Ning Shu flew directly back to her Lanzhu Peak. “This is where we will live from now on. Find yourselves rooms. An attendant will bring your disciple uniforms shortly. I need to go to the main hall now to explain the matter of Jianzhan Peak to the sect leader. If you need anything, just tell the attendants.”

“Speak up if you need something. You are a cultivator now, so there is no need to feel inferior. Especially you, Meiyu—do not be timid. The secret manual I gave you is as good as any other. If you cultivate well, you will become even stronger than your brother.” Ning Shu patted Ye Meiyu on the shoulder.

“Alright, Master,” Ye Meiyu replied, sounding a bit lost. She seemed to only half-understand what Ning Shu was saying. Compared to Ye Heyu, she did not seem to realize just how much her life had changed. Ye Heyu’s spirit was different. His eyes were bright and full of fighting spirit.

“You go ahead, Master,” Ye Heyu said.

Ning Shu, still covered in the dust of travel, flew toward the main hall. When she arrived, Qi Cheng and Yi Youxuan were already inside.

“Sect Leader, my junior sister has arrived. The situation is exactly as I described. You can ask her yourself,” Qi Cheng said.

“I just walked in. How am I supposed to know what you said? I must trouble you to repeat it,” Ning Shu said indifferently.

Yi Youxuan immediately frowned. Was this woman looking for trouble on purpose?

The sect leader spoke up. “So the mountain just… vanished?”

Ning Shu took out a jade slip. “I have recorded the specific images in this jade slip. It shows what the mountain looked like.” The jade slip flew into the sect leader’s hand. He projected his spiritual consciousness into it to investigate, and his expression soon turned speechless. “A mountain that large just… flew away?”

Qi Cheng said helplessly, “In truth, it simply disappeared.”

“Ah. It seems Zisha Island was not destined to have this,” the sect leader said. There was nothing he could do. Sometimes, the concept of fated opportunity was truly frustrating.

Yi Youxuan curled her lip. When she had the time, she would study Jianzhan Peak and find out exactly what it was. Once she looked through the records in her immortal estate, she would surely find a way to crack its secrets. After all, the half that had been cut off was in her abode. The ancient Divine Dao sect must have left records behind.

“You have all worked hard. Go back and rest,” the sect leader said before leaving first. He was going to cultivate.

Qi Cheng said to Ning Shu, “It seems we were busy for nothing.”

Ning Shu grinned. “Yes, we got absolutely nothing.”

She looked at Yi Youxuan. “You, however, look quite radiant. Seeing you like this, one might think a gold bar had fallen from the sky right into your lap.”

Yi Youxuan looked at Ning Shu indifferently. “What are you trying to say? What is wrong with you, always trying to provoke me? Are you just asking for it?”

Ning Shu took a deep breath. “If I am asking for it, you are the one giving it.”

“Stop making a scene. This is the main hall. Are you two really going to fight?” Qi Cheng said helplessly. He patted the back of his disciple’s head. “Let’s go.”

Yi Youxuan finally left. If this flea kept jumping, she would just have to kill it.

Ning Shu left the main hall and flew back to Lanzhu Peak. The two children had finished washing up and were now looking the part.

Ning Shu went over some precautions for cultivation with them and introduced them to the general situation of Zisha Island. She then sent them off to cultivate and set up a spirit gathering formation in each of their rooms.

Ning Shu said to the children, “Before long, there will be a grand competition for the sect’s young disciples. Every peak will send their best. You two will participate this year as well, if only to broaden your horizons. However, a hidden realm is about to open. If you achieve good results in the competition, you can enter it. Only cultivators below the Golden Core realm can enter this hidden realm.”
