Pampered By My Three Brothers: The Return Of The Neglected Heiress

Chapter 1851: Wedding

Chapter 1851: Wedding

4 months later…

The wind blew, carrying the scent of flowers and petals in the air. Faces painted with smiles as everyone’s eyes focused on the altar, witnessing two hearts coming together.

“To my wife,

When I’m writing this letter, I have to stare at a blank page for hours. Why? Because three words could not fill an entire page: I love you. And for a while, I was thinking, wasn’t that enough? After all, those three words were invented and learned to express… love.

But I was silly.

Of course, three words are clear, but not an explanation. Because as I stared at those three words, I understood the meaning of writing our vows. It’s not just about words of promise, but also a moment to express our hearts in the eyes of the Lord, in the eyes of His creations, and in the eyes of everyone here today.

And when I started thinking about you, I couldn’t stop writing everything about you: the resolve in those eyes, the kindness in your words, the beauty of your breath; the warmth of your hand, your smile, your silliness, and everything.

That’s when I realized I’ve always been silly, and that wasn’t the first time.

Before you, my life had always been the same: I was arrogant, overly confident, and lacked ambition. I was living because I had to. Happiness, contentment, or anything like that was never in the picture. But then, you came, and everything changed.

Just like my silliness in writing this vow, my silliness almost cost me you.

Thankfully, you gave me the chance to love you again. To show you that I can do better, and to prove that I am capable of love; I am capable of loving and being loved. With that in mind, I realized that this letter isn’t just to the person I’d swear to live with for all eternity.

It’s a vow to my world.

A letter to my everything, and I am blessed that I am even given the chance to write this letter.”

Penny’s lips curled up as her eyes softened, listening to the words of forever.

Everyone else listening sniffed or quietly wiped the corners of their eyes. Charles, however, couldn’t muffle his cries.

“Darling,” Allison sighed as she leaned against her husband’s shoulder while he buried his eyes in his handkerchief.

Jessa, on the other hand, scrunched up her nose and glared at the man. “He’s ruining the moment.”

“Honey, shh…” Lester, seated next to her, smiled awkwardly. “Just — just let him be.”

“Why?” she arched a brow. “Because you want to cry too? Lester Cortez, you better not let that single tear roll down.”

Lester’s breath hitched, swallowing the lump in his throat while forcing his tears back. They continued listening.

“They said a man leads his woman, but in this relationship… It’s the opposite,” he expressed. “You came into my life, held my hand, and dragged me away as you skipped your steps. And with you leading, you took me to a different world than mine.”

“Every step with you felt like another step out of the tunnel I was trapped in and called a good life. And the moment we reached out of that tunnel, I learned many things in your world. I learned that compassion, ambition, kindness, understanding, chance, forgiveness, and success can co-exist.”

He added, “That there isn’t something wrong with making mistakes, taking accountability, and learning from them. You taught me that love isn’t just some data where forever meets material benefits.”

“So, to you, my present and my future, I promise you these in front of your friends, family, and loved ones,” he continued. “I will not only love you, but sit with you in the dark when all you want is silence. I’ll be with you every step of the way, whatever it may be. And… I will never hurt you, either intentionally or unintentionally.”

“You’re not just my love, but also my queen. And I’ll treat you, if not better, then equal to how your family loved you. I will cherish you with every breath I take, love you for better or for worse, and hold your hand every step of the way.”

“I love you, and that will never change.”

As everyone smiled or quietly cried, they all shifted their attention to the bride.

“To my husband,

I used to believe in fairytales, and loved them so deeply. However, as I grew up, there were so many certain things that I forgot I used to love. Simple memories that were buried like old boxes in the attic. But with you, I not only started liking them, but also started to believe in them.

You came into my life like a prince, making my heart flutter the first time.

But as time passed, I realized our story wasn’t a fairytale. There were days I found it hard to understand, or when my heart was full of fear for many things. Times when protecting my heart came first before fighting for what we had.

I was not perfect, and I will never be. Yet, regardless of that imperfection, it didn’t faze you, nor did you use that imperfection against me. You protected my heart even when it was against me.

So, our story might not be a fairytale, but I believe it is a lot better.”

The bride paused, swallowing the lump in her throat.

“So, today, in front of everyone, I promise to love and cherish you. I promise that on the days you are not your best, I’ll still be right beside you. And just like how you would sit with me even in the darkest times of my life, I would always be there for you.

Today, tomorrow, and for the rest of our lives.

I love you, and only you.”

As soon as the bride finished her vows, a round of applause erupted in the air. The pastor, standing between them, smiled warmly at the couple before he spoke,

“By the power vested in me, and in the presence of these witnesses, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Mr. Davis, you may kiss your bride.”

“Wooo!!” Hugo whistled while Penny squealed.

The other guests clapped louder, watching Finn reach for Nina’s veil. As soon as her face came into view, he gulped nervously.

“Somehow, I can feel some death glares from your side,” he joked as he cupped her face and lowered his head.

Nina chuckled, closing her eyes. “It’s the last time they’ll do that.”

Because right now, Yugi and Charles’ eyes were burning as they watched Finn’s atrocious hand touch Nina’s face. If not for Jessa pinching their sides, they would’ve objected. But Yugi and Charles were just the anomalies. Others clapped and even cheered for them.

As Finn’s lips touched hers, he drew his head back and grinned. Nina slowly reopened her eyes, giggling back at him.

At the same time, the pastor continued.

“May the love and commitment you share today continue to grow stronger with each passing day. May your home be filled with joy, peace, and laughter, and may you support each other through every challenge and triumph. As you walk through life together, may you always find comfort, strength, and guidance in each other.”

He paused before he finally announced, “It is my privilege to present to you, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Davis.”
