Pampered By My Three Brothers: The Return Of The Neglected Heiress

Chapter 1835: Where’s Atlas?

Chapter 1835: Where’s Atlas?

With Nathalie’s aircraft blowing up in the sky like fireworks, everyone who witnessed it felt only two things. Those on her side felt their morale dragged to the depths of hell, while those on the opposing side’s morale hit an all-time high.

Nathalie’s remaining forces still struggled, but with their morale declining, they were easily subdued.

On top of that, Anteca’s Preside Elite Squad and some members of the Shadow Order arrived just in time to extinguish the fire that had been raging in the mansion. After the long struggle, Nathalie’s men eventually gave in, raising the white flag.

Mark and Angel joined everyone again for the cleanup, ceasing fire as much as possible. After all, many had already spilled blood and laid down their lives in this war. There was no point in continuing what was already won.

With that, all the surviving men retrieved the bodies of their fallen comrades. Those injured were treated immediately. As for the remaining people from Nathalie’s forces scattered on the island, the Shadow Order volunteered to seize them all.

As for Penny, Zoren, Charles, and Slater, they remained on the rooftop and let others take charge.

They just sat there in silence, at least for Charles and Slater. Penny and Zoren just looked at each other, giggling and smiling. The couple was acting as if they hadn’t just survived something so dangerous.

“I know it’s a good thing, but can you please stop that?” Slater frowned, his eyes a bit swollen after crying to his father with Penny as if they were competing who could bawl their eyes out more. “It’s very annoying, you know?”

Penny clicked her tongue and then hooked her arms around her husband. “Why? Jealous you don’t have a babe?”

“You—”

“Just let them be,” Charles chimed in, his voice a bit exhausted. “If you’re jealous, then just fix your character and find a woman like your sister.”

Slater scoffed. “Dad, if I am going to date or even marry—which I know is impossible, because no one deserves me—I’ll definitely choose someone that’s not anything close to Penny.”

“And why is that?!” Penny scrunched up her nose in dismay. “What’s so wrong with me?”

“Everything!”

“Everything—” Penny scowled, but before she could continue, she caught her husband nodding. Confused, she turned to him. “Renren, why are you nodding?”

“He’s agreeing that everything’s wrong with you,” Slater answered before Zoren could. “Right?”

“No.” Zoren blinked, darting his eyes between the siblings. “I’m just thinking Third Brother shouldn’t date someone like his sister, because if he did, it sounds like he is dating his sister.”

“I don’t like it,” he added. “Makes me a bit uncomfortable.”

Hearing this, Penny and Slater looked up as if what he said was worth deciphering. After a second, her face soured as she nodded.

“You’re right,” she said, looking at Zoren. “That’s weird.”

Slater, on the other hand, scrunched up his nose as he gazed at his sister. “See? Everything’s wrong with you.”

“Tch—shut up,” she hissed, squeezing herself to Zoren’s side. She pulled down her skin under her eye and stuck her tongue out. “Weirdo.”

“You—” Slater tossed the leaf he had been tearing out of boredom. “That’s it. Come here, I’ll teach you a lesson.”

“Kyah! Renren! Third Brother’s gonna kill me!!”

As Penny hid herself on Zoren’s side, the latter raised his arm protectively against Slater. But Slater still tried to teach his sister a lesson.

Did she forget that she entrusted her life to his hands earlier?!

But while Slater and Penny were back to fighting like cats and dogs, Charles slapped his thigh and pushed himself up. The second he got back on his feet, the three stopped instantly.

Zoren, Penny, and Slater turned their heads in his direction.

“Dad? Where are you going?” Slater blinked innocently.

Charles smiled at them. “You kids should stay here until everything’s clear downstairs. I haven’t seen Hugo and Atlas for some time now. So, I’m going to find them first.”

“Oh!” Slater, grabbing the tip of Penny’s hair, let her go. “I’m coming!”

“No, you stay with them,” Charles shook his head. “I’m more at ease knowing the three of you are together.”

Slater frowned, but then his father slapped his back.

“Look after your sister and Zoren,” he said, making Slater’s brows rise in surprise. “I can trust you with that, right?”

Slater blinked, and in the next second, he nodded and smiled. “Yes, sir!”

With that, Charles shot Zoren a look and nodded. When his eyes fell on Penny, he smiled at her before he turned to leave.

“Dad,” she called just as he took a few steps. “Second Brother is alright.”

Their brows knitted, eyes on her.

“Well, I forgot to say, but on my way here, I saw Mint and Second Brother,” she hummed, rubbing her chin. “Second Brother’s injury opened up, so I had to stitch him up and give him some blood.”

Her smile stretched wider. “He’s fine. I left him in the underground clinic.”

“Are you sure?” Charles asked, and she nodded confidently.

“I wouldn’t lie to you about this,” she said. “We can all just pick him up later. Mint too.”

Charles studied his daughter before he closed his eyes and heaved a sigh of relief. Even when he said he didn’t care much about Hugo, that middle child was still his son. And even if Hugo was a dedicated and capable soldier, a father would always worry for his son.

So, hearing that Penny had seen him and even treated his injury was akin to a heavy burden being lifted.

“So, that leaves us with First Brother, huh?” Slater blurted out.

“I think he’s alright,” Zoren remarked. “After all, some members of the Shadow Order came to our rescue. That means he’s fine.”

“But where is he?” Penny cocked her head to the side, and they all looked at each other with confusion.

Atlas would never have stepped foot in the middle of the battlefield even if all of them were inside. Why? Because he knew he would just slow everyone down, and that he might die. But until now, although the battle was over, he still hadn’t gone to them.

Which only made them wonder: where did he go?
