Chapter 6499 Domain of Reversal
Chapter 6499 Domain of Reversal
The Dragonblood warrior clearly stepped forward, but somehow took a step back instead.
“A domain of reversal?” the Dragonblood warrior muttered, instantly realizing the law behind Cui Bo’s domain.
As he staggered back, Cui Bo pushed forward and swung his flute toward the back of his skull. The blow was quick and vicious. Combined with Cui Bo’s domain, it was definitely a killing blow.
But before the flute could land, sparks erupted. The Dragonblood warrior’s sword arced behind him and intercepted the strike with uncanny precision.
Cui Bo was startled to see his sure-kill attack fail.
“Interesting...” Cui Bo murmured, his lips twisting into a sinister smile.
This Dragonblood warrior’s reflexes were sharper than he’d expected. Within the reverse domain, front became back, and left became right. It was inevitable for people to be confused. Normal experts would panic the instant they entered the domain, losing all sense of direction. By the time they adjusted, they were already dead.
After condensing his essence rune, Cui Bo immediately tested this domain on some experts. No matter how powerful his opponents were, they could never get past the first attack.
The success had inflated his confidence. As long as his opponent hadn’t adapted to his reverse domain, he could easily kill them. In other words, unless another’s domain could suppress his, he was unmatched.
That was especially true against experts without complete essence runes and law domains. In his eyes, they were nothing more than ants.
Yet, this Dragonblood warrior had reacted in time and intercepted Cui Bo’s attack.
Cui Bo’s body blurred like a phantom. And in the next instant, he appeared before the Dragonblood warrior, unleashing a palm strike.
In response, the Dragonblood warrior’s sword swept out to meet it.
BOOM!
Cui Bo’s palm glowed with law runes. The moment they erupted, their power sent the dragon warrior flying with a grunt.
However, Cui Bo didn’t look thrilled. Instead, a surge of killing intent emanated from him.
Cui Bo’s casual-looking palm strike had contained deadly law power, enough to kill anyone below a half-step Sovereign Lord. But this Dragonblood warrior had seen through the palm strike and disrupted it.
The Dragonblood warrior’s sword strike had been deceptive; it was two blows in one. The first slash was quick, striking Cui Bo’s palm with highly concentrated power that interrupted the flow of his law runes. As a result, in the real clash, Cui Bo’s law power was already faltering, which cut his power by almost half.
How could a mere Dragonblood warrior block me? How could he possess such monstrous reflexes?
This feat enraged Cui Bo, causing him to feel a flicker of envy.
“Die!” Cui Bo shouted.
The moment the Dragonblood warrior felt the shift in spatial laws, his body jerked and he flew straight toward Cui Bo.
In response, Cui Bo condensed a runic blade in front of him and swung it at the Dragonblood warrior.
All of a sudden, an arrow tore through the air, ignoring Cui Bo’s domain, and shattered the runic blade.
BOOM!
The impact ripped open a hole in Cui Bo’s domain, revealing the vast energy field surrounding Cui Bo.
Everyone was startled and looked over to see Guo Ran holding a crossbow atop his drum.
“Is a domain really so great?” he taunted. “Doesn’t seem that strong to me.”
Although that was what he said, Guo Ran was secretly giving Xia Chen a thumbs-up. His Voidbreaker Arrow had been inscribed with one of Xia Chen’s custom talismans to counter domains.
Guo Ran had only intended to test it, but the result was better than he expected. Xia Chen’s craftsmanship was amazing indeed.
Thanks to the arrow tearing open a void within the domain, the Dragonblood warrior facing Cui Bo was no longer restrained. He charged forward with his sword, while Cui Bo hastily raised his flute to block it.
Seizing the moment, the Dragonblood warrior struck like lightning and let fly a storm of blows. In the blink of an eye, he had unleashed thirty-six slashes.
Still shocked by Guo Ran’s crossbow, Cui Bo was completely flustered. Each of the thirty-six slashes came from a different angle and incorporated a unique movement art, leaving him overwhelmed and unable to keep up.
“Scram!”
Cui Bo roared, his essence rune flaring as law power exploded from him. It rippled outward, blasting the Dragonblood warrior back.
When everyone looked at Cui Bo again, their hearts shook. There was a line of blood on his neck that was slowly dripping down.
Clearly, Cui Bo was wounded during his previous intense fight. Or perhaps it should be said that he had been nearly decapitated.
An ordinary Dragonblood warrior had forced a half-step Sovereign Lord into such a state. The spectators’ expressions shifted from disbelief to unease.
They couldn’t help but look at the seven thousand Dragonblood warriors lining up before them. If every single one of them possessed this level of power, that would be absolutely frightening.
“Did you think someone like you could test the Dragonblood Legion’s power?” sneered Guo Ran mockingly.
From the moment Cui Bo attacked, no one else had intervened. His earlier bewitching art had left the others wary, and they were unwilling to be conned again. As a result, they chose to watch from the sidelines. Of course, if Cui Bo managed to take the upper hand, they would come forward to fight over the Earth Cauldron.
But the result was humiliating. The arrogant Cui Bo hadn’t even breached the first layer of the Dragonblood warriors’ defense and had nearly lost his head for it. None of the others dared step in now.
Cui Bo’s face darkened as he felt their mocking stares. He had turned himself into a clown, and the laughter in their eyes made his rage boil over.
“You damned ants! Do you think this is all I can do? Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant your wish!”
Cui Bo’s teeth clenched as he raised his flute once more. All of a sudden, centipede-like runes crawled across his face, and a frightening aura burst out of his body.
The flute’s shrill note pierced the air, followed by a sweeping black wave that engulfed the entire battlefield.
