Chapter 2080 – Hope or Despair
Chapter 2080 – Hope or Despair
Lu Yun suddenly fell silent as he looked at Fuxi.
“What is it?” Having just reached the topic of the four divine temples, Fuxi paused when he noticed that the young man’s expression wasn’t what he imagined it would be.
“Senior… do you think there will be other things waiting for us later on?” Lu Yun stroked his chin. “From Mo Yi, God, or plans to come. We might need to overthrow something when we return to that reality, or seek vengeance on someone.”
“Well…” Fuxi blinked, then looked at Lu Yun like he was gazing upon a fool. “What does that have to do with us?” He smirked.
Lu Yun paused. True, no matter what Mo Yi and God’s final goals were, it was enough that the duo’s present goals matched theirs. This way of thinking was a breath of fresh air.
After all, he himself steadfastly remained on one side because their aims were the same as his, no? That was enough, who cared about what was to come?
Lu Yun’s current target was to escape from the nothing. He wanted to live, he didn’t want to die. Once existence occupied the nothing and collided with the barrier, he would have to die too, even though he possessed the Tome of Life and Death.
The treasure depended on the great dao that existed between nothing and existence. Once existence touched the barrier, everything would be destroyed and relegated to nirvana.
It was similar to the great devastation that Lu Yun had witnessed at the end of time in the Land of Reincarnation. In that moment, all laws and rules ceased to exist. The Land of Reincarnation was a microcosm of the greater nothing and existence around it!
Thus, Lu Yun’s current ambition was to survive.
Even though existence had seen a very stunted development and three hundred and sixty-five demon gods leeched off its strongest patch, the trends of the times could not be denied. The demon gods’ actions were just attacking the symptoms, not the cause.
If the Three Thousand perished, a stronger world would appear, one that no living being could shake. And if the Divine Temple of Nothing repeated the same tricks to absorb the world’s core essence, that would propel the new world to greater heights instead of halting its growth.
The primordial world of immortals was not that new world. Once the new world manifested, the nothing would truly return to the nothing and permit no life to dwell within it.
Nihil powerhouses would have to break through the barrier of nothing and leave for reality in order to survive. True survival could also only be found there.
The world in the Tome of Life and Death? It was doomed as long as it was located within their nothing.
“What are your plans?” Fuxi smiled at Lu Yun when he saw that the young man understood everything.
Fuxi didn’t want to die either and was also planning his attempts for survival, just like the traitors in the Divine Temple of Nothing. They differed in terms of ideals and methods, which was why there was a conflict.
In the end, no matter who was right or wrong, whoever was the opposition had to be sacrificed.
“I want to grow stronger.” Lu Yun looked in Qing Yu’s direction in the world of immortals and the two smiled at each other. He’d been lost and didn’t know what to do, it was Qing Yu who guided him back to the right path.
Continue growing stronger.
It was what he’d been doing all along—strengthening himself. He’d walked so far and grown so strong that he’d forgotten his initial motivation.
“Your current strength places you at the apex of this part of nothing,” Fuxi chuckled ruefully. “You avoided the nihil realm and became a sacred supreme. You’re much stronger than many ancient peak nihil powerhouses.”
“Sacred supreme… is a level that comes from the reality outside of the nothing, isn’t it?” Lu Yun asked.
“Apparently it is,” Fuxi nodded. “That was what Pangu was back in the dao as well.”
Sacred supremes existed within the Three Thousand because it was the only reality within this part of nothing. Only denizens of that realm were able to become sacred supremes.
The other existences apart from the Three Thousand were manifestations of great daos of nihil powerhouses. They were also existence, but not real. Hence, they couldn’t produce sacred supremes.
The primordial world of immortals could as it borrowed the rhythm of the nothing to create a real existence. It would become something on par with the Three Thousand as soon as it could ascend to the nothing.
But thanks to the Dao King, Ancestor, and a few others, it would never be able to occupy the nothing. It was the only mark of a tiny rebellion that they could muster.
If an existence couldn’t occupy nothing, then it would ultimately be assimilated in turn. Another existence would then appear until one finally fulfilled its mission.
“Are sacred supremes mainstream in the outside portion of reality?” Lu Yun’s eyes gleamed.
“That’s my guess as they didn’t tell me anything,” Fuxi smiled. “My grasp of formula dao is less than yours, but I can still analyze a fair bit.
“I don’t actually wish to leave this place,” he suddenly sighed. “This is my home, my roots. Even if I live forever, I would be a drifting flower if I left my homeland.
“But we must leave.” A resolute expression appeared on his face. “Only when we leave and enter the real existence can we find the reason why existence continuously expands in the nothing. Only then can we resolve the problem at its root.”
It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from “NovelFull.com”.
“Agreed,” Lu Yun nodded. “But this is all speculation. Even I don’t know if there is reality to be found outside of the nothing or…” He raised his head. “If it’s the end times and all lies in ruin and devastation.”
Fuxi shook and despair flashed through his eyes. It shrouded the hearts of everyone in the nothing. If what could be found beyond the nihil was what Lu Yun said…
That would be horrifying.
The reality outside of nothing was their hope.
“You must know that whether it is the nothing or existence, all are objective,” Lu Yun continued. “It was never a function of conscious thought. It is whatever shape or form they are. The end times in our eyes are just another form to them. We are but pitiful slugs gasping for survival in an insignificant crack.
“But if we grow strong enough that our wills can impact the objective and command everything, then I will be God.”
He would be the creator of an era with a wave of his hand.
