Chapter 2539 Everybody Loves Zhang Manlin (9)

“There’s a business party tonight. We should go together.”

“Oh, I’ll go if I have time.”

“Okay, we’ll talk later on Wechat.”

“Okay.”

Huo Mian nodded. After breakfast, she drove to work.

Soon after, Qin Chu left home as well.

After her parents were gone, Pudding took out her phone and video-called Su Yu.

“Pudding.”

“Handsome Su, where are you?”

“I’m on my way to work.”

“Can Little Bean and I visit you later?”

“What’s up?”

“Nothing… we’re just bored at home. We miss you.”

“Okay, I’ll get you girls after my meeting,” said Su Yu.

“Okay, we’ll wait for you at home.”

After the phone call, Su Yu continued to drive. Suddenly, the light switched to red and Su Yu immediately slammed on the brakes, just a bit after where he should’ve stopped.

He almost ran over someone…

The car came to a screeching halt. A woman in a beige coat turned her head towards Su Yu.

“It’s her?” At the sight of the woman, Su Yu opened the door and got out of his car.

“Oh, it’s you…”

“It’s you?” Su Yu looked at Zhang Manlin.

“Why are you driving so fast? The light is already red, why aren’t you paying attention? You scared me half to death.” Zhang Manlin was just about to cross the road when Su Yu almost ran her over.

“Are you alright?”

“I think my foot’s a little injured.”

Su Yu looked down and sure enough, Zhang Manlin’s ankles were red.

“Let’s go to the hospital.”

“It’s okay. I don’t want to seem like I’m scamming you. It’s not like you did it on purpose. I’ll be fine.”

With that, Zhang Manlin began to limp away. Due to her high heels, she lost her balance and fell backward.

In the blink of an eye, Su Yu caught her by the waist and saved her from the fall.

“I can’t let you do this alone. You’re injured; I’ll drive you to the hospital.”

“I work at the hospital. Why don’t you drive me to South Side? I can go to work after the exam,” Zhang Manlin said. “Sure.” Su Yu nodded.

They then got into his car and Su Yu drove straight to South Side.

Because of two minor injuries, Zhang Manlin’s foot was swollen red and it was impossible for her to walk properly.

Su Yu helped her out of the car and they made their way to the hospital slowly.

“Oh my, Lin-Lin, what happened?” Zhang Manlin’s colleagues swarmed around her, concerned.

“I twisted my foot by accident.”

Su Yu aided Zhang Manlin all the way to the orthopedics department and her examination began.

“How is it, doctor? Is it bad?” Su Yu asked.

“It’s nothing minor… It hurts, right?” the doctor asked.

Zhang Manlin shook her head. “It’s not that bad.”

“Well aren’t you a brave girl. Your ankle’s so bruised and you’re still saying you’re okay. It probably hurts a lot. I’m going to make some adjustments now and it’ll hurt. Afterward, remember to take the medication every day, alright?”

“Alright, thank you, doctor.”

“Don’t move, I’ll get the medicine for you.” Su Yu felt guilty. After all, he did injure Zhang Manlin’s foot because he was distracted by Wechat.

So, he took the initiative to run out and pay for the medicine.

On the way back, he ran into Huo Mian, who had just come out of a meeting.

“Hey, Su Yu, why are you here?” Huo Mian was surprised.

“Oh, I…” Before Su Yu could finish, Zhang Manlin came limping out of the room.

“Su Yu, did you get the medication?”

“Um, yea, here you go.” Su Yu passed over the medication to her.

“You guys… know each other?” Huo Mian looked surprised. It was too much information for her to digest.

Vice Director, I can’t explain. I’m going to be late for work. I need to get to the finance department. Su Yu, do you mind helping me to our finance department?”

Zhang Manlin looked at Su Yu helplessly.

“Of course.”

Su Yu turned around to help Zhang Manlin up the stairs. Huo Mian suddenly felt a knot tie in her stomach…
