Chapter 97 - Returned To F City I
Chapter 97 – Returned To F City I
Jiang Ruolan laughed dryly and said, "I understand. Then, I'll go continue my work."
As she spoke, she walked out of the chief's editor office with the material in her hands, grumbling to herself.
This Qin Gengxin! He was everywhere! Now he even dared to interfere with her work!
Before getting off work, she opened the documents and started flipping through them again, taking down the date, time and exhibition address. Thinking of how she hadn't returned to F City for several months, she felt very excited.
Yijun said last time that …
He no longer continued to study at F University but had a pretty good job in F City. Jiang Ruolan calculated the fee given to her by the authorities, thinking that if she went to stay with Yijun, she would save some money for the cost of staying in a hotel.
Counting the amount of savings, it was almost equivalent to her half a month's salary. Immediately, she was overjoyed.
****
Saturday, F City Airport.
As soon as Jiang Ruolan got off the plane, she received a text message on her phone. After reading it, she smiled and strolled with her luggage.
A sapphire blue Prado Land Cruiser was parked beside the turnpike outside the airport lobby. She narrowed her eyes and looked back at the text message she had just received. She raised her head and looked at the car hesitantly.
Yijun said that he was driving a car. Could it be that the Prado was his car?
The headlights of the car suddenly flickered. Moments later, the car slowly drove towards her and stopped in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing a face that was no stranger to her.
"Hey beauty, do you want to hitchhike ~" Jiang Yijun smiled as he took off his sunglasses.
Jiang Ruolan's mouth twitched as she rolled her eyes. Without saying anything, she walked to the passenger door and got inside. She turned to Jiang Yijun who lazily sat in the driver's seat, "Where did you get this car?
"The company gave it to me."
"Company? What company? And off-road cars? I never knew the company could give free cars to its employees."
"I worked with tourism development, I have to work outside the company every day, so it is normal for a company to give me an SUV. I say, Jiang Ruolan, do I look like a young master from a rich family? At least I did it myself." Jiang Yijun sighed helplessly and laughed.
"I think you are indeed a rich young master! You feigned for so long and even lied to me. At the time, I really thought you were waiting for an exam! Who knew instead of studying, you went to work."
Jiang Ruolan put her handbag on her leg and leaned back. She closed her eyes and said, "I'm dead tired from all the traveling. You drive me to your place, I need to sleep first."
Jiang Yijun chuckled. Before turning on the engine, he casually pulled the jacket at the back and put it on her. After a few seconds, the car sped away.
Jiang Yijun had grown up with Jiang Ruolan and after so many years, she had gotten used to this kid taking care of her all the time, so naturally, she accepted the jacket. She pulled it up until it covered her neck and slept soundly.
Jiang Ruolan opened her eyes in a daze, and when her consciousness returned to her brain, she found the car parked downstairs in a strange neighborhood. She glanced out of the window and saw Jiang Yijun standing on the lawn while answering the call.
She took off the jacket and put it away. Then, she got out of the car.
"Alright, I understand. I will arrange for someone to go there tomorrow." Hearing the conversation related to work, Jiang Ruolan immediately smiled while looking at Jiang Yijun, who was 1.8 meters tall.
Jiang Yijun was no longer a child. After so many years of being siblings, she always felt that Yijun was still young. Still, she forgot that he was only a year younger than her, or maybe just seven months younger than her.
Seven months…
A pair of blood siblings, how could they only be separated by seven months?
Jiang Yijun always thought that he was a year younger than her. At that time, when he said that he was going to G City, Jiang Ruolan was shocked, thinking that he would find out something when he went there. Luckily, he did not meet anyone else from Jiang Family. He didn't know about his past.
"Are you awake?" Jiang Yijun's voice suddenly entered her ear. She looked up and saw Jiang Yijun, who was a head taller than her.
Jiang Ruolan smiled at him and looked back at the residential area across the street. "You live here?"
"Yes, this is the company's house. I was instructed to take care of it, so I just stayed here. Didn't you say you would be in F City for two weeks? You can stay with me. Won't it save a lot of money allocated by your company?" Jiang Yijun chuckled.
"Tsk tsk, you really know me." Jiang Ruolan smiled as she lightly punched him on the shoulder with her small fist.
Jiang Yijun just smiled and glanced at Jiang Ruolan's hand. Seeing that there was no ring in her hand, his eyes stopped. He said nothing as he turned to go to the car to pick up her luggage and entered the residential area.
Jiang Ruolan decided to cook dinner. They sat opposite each other while having dinner. Jiang Yijun glanced at his watch from time to time.
He wanted to say something but hesitated.
"Say what you want to say." Jiang Ruolan put down the bowl and said softly.
Jiang Yijun paused for a moment and then sighed with a smile. After thinking for a while, he asked, "Then, has the grandson surnamed Han recovered?"
Jiang Ruolan's hand stopped and she raised her head to look at him. After a while, she put down her chopsticks and said, "Did you really hit him?"
He sneered, "I disliked him since you were with him during your university days. Do you expect me to calm down after what he had done to you?"
Jiang Ruolan raised her chopsticks and hit Jiang Yijun's hand.
"Ah! What are you doing?" Jiang Yijun immediately retracted his hand in pain and stared at her. "Don't tell me you still feel sorry for him?"
"Sorry your head!" Unhappy, Jiang Ruolan hit him again with her chopsticks.
"Jiang Ruolan! If you dare to use violence against me again, do you believe that I will…"
"What? What can you do to your sister?" Jiang Ruolan raised her eyebrow and said, "Sit down!"
Jiang Yijun's face turned pale and he sat down helplessly.
"If it weren't for Han Xuegang being the vice president for Ling Group, do you think he would let you go easily?"
Jiang Yijun snorted coldly. "I think your marriage with Xian Zihao had caused him a loss. He was very angry at the time but he didn't fight back when I punched him twice!"
Jiang Ruolan, who was about to get up and to scoop another bowl of rice, stopped at her track and turned around slowly.
"He didn't fight back?" She was somewhat surprised.
Seeing Jiang Yijun nod, Jiang Ruolan frowned.
Why didn't Han Xuegang fight back? Did he know that he was in the wrong or what? That shouldn't be … How could he feel that he was wrong? Hadn't he always taken everything for granted? Including her love for him.
Forget it, it's already a thing of the past, there's no point thinking about it. Jiang Ruolan went to the kitchen.
"You and Xian Zihao…" Jiang Yijun stood up, walked to the side of the kitchen and leaned against the door frame. His eyes fixed on her figure. "How are you two? Is he good to you?"
"What's so good about it?" At the mention of Xian Zihao, Jiang Ruolan had an indescribable feeling in her heart. She said in a lukewarm tone, "We did not meet each other for two months after the marriage registration. There should be no relationship between the two of us. How good do you think our relationship can be?"
As she said that, she came out of the kitchen with a bowl of rice. She saw a smile on Jiang Yijun's face and stared at him with a strange expression. "What are you smiling at?"
"So, when this storm is over, will you get divorced?" He laughed again, this time happier.
Jiang Ruolan curiously glanced at him and said impatiently, "I don't know! Let's see what will happen."
She walked back to the dining table. She sat down and started eating without a word.
Divorce?
Would this be the final result of her marriage with Xian Zihao?
Think of what he said that day on the balcony.
She had a premonition. He did not intend for them to cross paths again. She might never see him again, or perhaps, unless it was necessary, he might completely disappear from her world.
Any news of him was also very difficult for her to obtain. Due to the great disparity between their statuses, his location had always been kept a secret. And since he had chosen to leave her side, it was likely that she would never have the chance to see him again in her entire life.
