Wang Ying casually mentioned something about the streaming platform. She said someone used their connections to approach AQ Platform, asking them not to purchase the broadcasting rights for "Little Luck."
Luckily, Ai Wen has a special relationship with AQ’s CEO. A proposal in the boardroom suggesting not to purchase was promptly rejected by the CEO.
"Maybe someone’s jealous of the buzz our announcement has generated and is playing petty tricks in secret. Mr. Rong, don’t worry. Their underhanded schemes won’t work. Ai Wen and AQ’s CEO have been comrades for years—no amount of connections behind the scenes can disrupt this."
She was just mentioning it in passing, with no ulterior motive. If there was any hint of Little Baby’s petty schemes in her mind, it was only to show off to Rong Yan how solid Lemon and AQ’s relationship really was.
"Does Mr. Wang know who’s been pulling strings?" Rong Yan, however, discerned something more significant from her casual conversation.
Could it be the Chu Family again?
Wang Ying shook her head, furrowing her brows in confusion, "I haven’t heard anything about that."
Her expression soon relaxed, and she smiled lightly at Rong Yan, "You don’t need to dwell on this. Ai Wen has already handled it. Once ’Little Luck’ finishes filming, it’ll go directly onto AQ’s platform. The platform has already laid out the promotional plan. As long as the show turns out well, the viewership numbers will be no concern."
"Got it. Thanks for your hard work, Mr. Wang."
Wang Ying offered a faint smile, "I’m just running errands throughout the process—it’s all thanks to Ai Wen pulling things together with AQ."
"Absolutely."
Wang Ying struck up a bit more conversation before checking the time and leaving.
Rong Yan chatted briefly with the screenwriter and director about earlier filming issues, then her phone suddenly started vibrating.
"Sorry, let me take a moment." She paused, holding her phone, and quickly said to the two, "Pick up filming after break—I have a personal matter and need to step out for a bit."
Without even glancing at the caller ID, she hurriedly jogged toward the film base exit.
She had arranged over the phone with Mrs. Lin that they’d give her a quick call when they arrived, so she’d head out upon hearing the ringtone.
Rong Yan assumed it was Lin Zhiya calling—after all, the timing was oddly coincidental.
Her thoughts didn’t wander far; her footsteps were light and eager, brimming with the anticipation of seeing Little Baby and them soon.

Not far from the film base, a van cruised steadily. The man in the front-most seat, chewing on a toothpick while on the phone, snarled as he hung up. Spitting out the toothpick, he cursed, "What the hell? It went through, but no one answered?"
"Could be the phone isn’t on her."
"Damn it, am I that unlucky?" The man pounded the steering wheel, his rough face brimming with frustration. "We busted our asses coming up with a way to lure her out. Now she’s not picking up. What are we supposed to do?"
In the back of the van sat several men speaking in exaggerated fake Beijing accents, the space reeking of sweat. One of them piped up hesitantly, "Boss, maybe we think of another plan?"
"What plan? Storm out and grab her? Don’t kid yourself! This hellhole has so many people. We’d get our faces smashed in before catching anyone!"
"...Fair enough."
"It’s all because celebrities make too much money these days. Those women go rabid, chasing after stars all the time. It’s made this damn place crowded day and night. Apart from a few dumpy old buildings, there’s absolutely jack here. Seriously, what’s with people nowadays—is their boredom driving them here for fun?"
The driver slammed his foot against the still-moving car’s door. "This doesn’t work, nothing works! Damn it! There’s gotta be a way!"
After a brief silence, one of the men in the back spoke up in a low voice, "Boss, why don’t we try calling again?"
