Chapter 1848 - 1848 To Snow Territory 6
1848 To Snow Territory 6
Gu Chaoyan didn’t harbor any dislike for this man; in fact, she admired him.
Ouyang Mingjing, on the other hand, grew increasingly displeased and impatient.
He made a faint sound of agreement and refrained from further remarks.
Upon hearing his response, the man cast a few more glances at Gu Chaoyan and promptly departed.
Ouyang Mingjing’s smile faded after encountering the man. His countenance soured, and he lost his previous jovial demeanor.
“Snow Territory is a vast place, but it differs greatly from the Saint Divine Land. Many things in Snow Territory can be rather mundane. You’ve just arrived, and you must be tired, so take a rest here. I’ll show you around when I have the opportunity,” Ouyang Mingjing stated rigidly.
Gu Chaoyan didn’t mind.
She had just encountered the person she longed to see the most, so whether she stayed or left didn’t matter much to her.
She simply nodded in response.
Ouyang Mingjing saw her off without further delay.
As he saw her off…
Ouyang Mingjing headed directly to the Elder Man.
Restlessly pacing back and forth in the room, he spoke urgently, “I saw Gao Xiu earlier, and I sensed that he’s up to something again. I’m very concerned. Elder Man, you must find a way to put a stop to their actions.”
“Understood,” Elder Man calmly replied.
He believed that it was because the City Lord had faced numerous challenges and bullying at a young age when he assumed his position. As a result, he harbored some lingering fears. Unbeknownst to him, the Phoenix Girl was taking care of those matters, rendering their petty tricks inconsequential in her eyes.
When they were just talking….
Suddenly, a commotion erupted outside.
“They’re here again?” Ouyang Mingjing inquired.
“Perhaps. I’ll go out and take a look,” Elder Man hastily left. They couldn’t allow Gao Xiu and his gang to take the lead in defending against the enemies. Otherwise, news of the City Lord’s inaction would once again circulate.
Meanwhile, Gu Chaoyan was in the court.
She sensed the disturbance outside, indicating that something had occurred.
In her previous life, her observations and senses were sharper than most, especially after consuming the magical water.
“Sword One, what’s happening?” Gu Chaoyan asked.
Sword One, who had just returned from outside, nodded gravely upon hearing Gu Chaoyan’s question. “Yes, Elder Miss, Snow Territory is under attack. The city is in a state of chaos.”
What?
An incident in Snow Territory?
Someone dared to provoke Snow Territory?
Well…
No wonder there were internal conflicts.
If only they could coexist peacefully, there wouldn’t be any internal strife.
While it wasn’t favorable for Snow Territory, Gu Chaoyan couldn’t help but feel somewhat pleased.
“Just keep an eye on the situation outside and report back to me,” Gu Chaoyan instructed Sword One, her mood uplifted.
Sword One departed.
As darkness fell, the clamor subsided.
Sword One couldn’t venture too far, so she was unaware of whether the enemies had retreated or if they were defeated by the people of Snow Territory.
However…
The night remained tranquil.
The silence persisted until morning.
Yet…
Early in the morning, Ouyang Mingjing arrived.
Upon seeing Gu Chaoyan, he asked Dao Seeking, “Where is your Golden Rolls?”
Golden Rolls…
She hadn’t anticipated needing the Golden Rolls after arriving in Snow Territory.
However, Gu Chaoyan had no intention of divulging this information to Ouyang Mingjing.
“Fetch the Golden Rolls and accompany me outside,” she replied, withholding her true intentions.
