Chapter 4498: Fruit

Chapter 4498: Fruit

Thud Thud!

We landed on the ground of the humongous tree, with roots spreading as far as the eye could see.

I could see a lot of people, as well as the monsters, but here strangely. They didn’t attack people; they barely looked before going their own way.

I could see a lot of Primes, and not all of them are strong—this place is for all the Primes.

The danger came from people and choosing the fruit beyond their ability. It is what kills most people.

I looked at the massive tree and could see the fruits. Each of the fruits has laws in it, and not a single law, but all the laws present in the marsh.

These fruits are powerful enough not only to give comprehension, but also to thoroughly strengthen the body. The most amazing thing is one didn’t need to have the same laws as the laws in fruit to comprehend the law.

They could comprehend the laws they have with the laws in the fruits.

I am not understanding it well myself how it happens.

Simply said, I could comprehend any of my laws with the help of the fruits. It doesn’t matter if the fruit doesn’t have the law, I comprehend.

This is the kind of thing that only the seedlings of the world tree could do.

"One of us will eat the fruit while the other will keep the guard," she said. "Sure," I replied. That is the safest thing. If both of us ate at the same time, we would be thoroughly unprotected.

Bang!

I was about to ask her about the fruit when I heard the massive explosion.

A Prime got thrown hard before crashing against the root. Though he didn’t seem to care about that, he looked at the spot, tears flowing from his eyes.

"A Prime had died," said Dynvar and sighed.

That Prime was standing guard beside another Prime, who had consumed the fruit. They couldn’t handle the energy, and they died.

"Choosing the right fruit is very important," I replied. If he had chosen the weaker fruit, he would have survived. He did not and paid the price with his life.

We watched for a couple of seconds before walking toward the trunk of the tree.

We were below the tree, but it still took us a few minutes to reach it before we began climbing.

There are fruits at every branch; each one has the power of all laws, but quantities and intensities vary. The lower the fruit on the tree, the weaker it is.

The higher it is, the stronger the fruit is.

We are climbing, not flying, because. It’s dangerous. When one flies, the laws come together and zap a person into nothingness.

It didn’t happen every time, but the zap is so powerful that nobody has been able to survive it till now. I don’t want to become one to challenge that.

Soon, we come across the first branch with fruits, but we didn’t even stop to look at it.

We climbed up, passing one fruit-laden branch after another. Nearly an hour passed, and we had reached a relatively high altitude, when we finally slowed down.

A minute later, she finally stopped beside the fruit and gently touched it, before closing her eyes.

I did the same with the fruit, not far away from her, and could feel the massive power that they hold in themselves—no wonder they explode the Primes.

Which is not easy. Even if Primes couldn’t absorb it, their bodies are powerful enough to bear it, but these fruits have energies far more powerful, and they clash inside the body.

That’s how they refine it and provide one with inspiration that helps one comprehend their laws to a higher level.

She finally opened her eyes and shook her head. A moment later, we climbed up. We skipped the branch above, before we stopped at the one above it.

She once more touched the fruit and opened her eyes more than a minute later.

There is a hesitation in her eyes.

"Your life is more important than any increase you will get," I said to her. The energies are potent in those; she should choose wisely, or she would lose her life.

She remained hesitant for a few seconds before she finally plucked the fruit.

It made me relieved because the fruit is really. I believe she shouldn’t have plucked the fruit. It feels more powerful than she could bear, but I didn’t say anything.

I would have, if I had been sure, and the only way I would have been. If I had put the seed in her.

"It’s your turn," she said, turning to me.

I nodded and climbed up, reaching the branch above and touching the fruit for a second before moving up and touching it again.

We are already very high and getting higher with each step.

"Prime Arys, I know you are very powerful, but be careful. The fruits at the top contain the power to even kill the Silver Primes," she cautioned.

I have no doubt, but I am different. My body is stronger, more resilient.

I need to choose something that my body will be able to bear, but it should not be strong enough that it blasts me to smithereens, like it did that Prime.

So, I kept climbing, touching the fruits, before finally stopping.

I looked at the yellowish fruit with multicolored spots on it. It looked like a mango and smelled heavenly. I observed it clearly for nearly four minutes before finally plucking it.

"I hope you know what you are doing," she said with a sigh. I didn’t reply, and other than smile.

I pocketed the fruit before both of us began to climb down. I would have put the fruit in storage and tried, but it wouldn’t fit.

Fruit cannot be taken into storage just like it cannot be taken out of the shadow of the tree. The moment one does, the fruit will explode.

The explosion would be powerful enough to kill the Prime.
