Chapter 2682: Luminescent I

Chapter 2682: Luminescent I

"Fuck, I am tired!" I said as I sat down on my seat in the conference room. I am alone; not even mary is here.

After Grandmaster Veronica, I had four more appointments, one involving one hundred and two leaders, which tired me to my bone that I just wanted to go home and sleep, but there was an important meeting with the Pyramid had to attend.

I will be joining the war in a few days; in the few ruins, the battles are getting especially intense, and I want to join in.

The project is important, but it is war, especially now when I need inspiration for my Inheritance. I have been stuck on the combat moves for nearly a month, which is three months in my core, and that is not a good thing.

The Inheritance for the Grandmaster class is huge; the right word would be vast. There is huge pressure on this next upgrade, as this will bring my strength to the peak of the world, to a Grand Lord.

There has never been an instance where a Grandmaster was able to achieve the strength of the Grand Lord, but with my unique condition, it is very possible, but I have to create a worthy Inheritance that will harness such power from my core.

Months have passed since I started on the Inheritance, and my clone spent considerable time working on it, but despite that, I have not made satisfactory progress, and if I continue at pace, then it will take me years to make progress.

To be honest, I very much like to work on the project, as I know how much we need the powerhouses, but I have to worry about my progress too, especially when my friends are making huge progress.

Just a few days, I came to know about the mission Ellen and Jill did, along with the team of High-Grandmaster. The mission was super secrete, so much that even I did not have access to know about it.

Thankfully, a little bird whispered to me; he was more than willing to let a few secrets slip for a few favors, which I do not have much problem in giving, considering the value of the information he was providing.

The information was shocking; it had turned out secret Ellen was no less powerful than Jill; both of them were advancing at an extremly fast speed, and if I did not progress fast, they would leave me behind, and it was my fear, but a complete surety.

Ting!

I was busy in my thoughts when the Pyramid badge on my chest vibrated, and I closed my eyes; a moment later, I was in central command.

"Council, Grand Lords," I greeted the seven council members and two Grand Lords. I am quite surprised seeing matron Mavis sitting beside patriarch Bradford. She usually does not attend the meeting or only attends truly important ones.

"Let's begin," said Grand Commander as she looked at Lord Whitmore, "The latest information told us that we are winning twenty-three runes, retreating in 12, while fighting stalemate in fifty-seven runes; today we have also lost one ruin; it is now completely in the hands of Grimms," He said and projected the data.

I looked at the data, and currently, it could be said to be good, at least much better than the last week, where we had lost seven ruins to Grimm within a week, not to mention innumerable powerhouses, including the Grandmasters.

The war in the ruin is completely different than the war on the mainland, where everything is clear, and lines of communication are open.

In ruins, we do not have that luxury; we could not send reinforcements on a timely basis or give orders and expect them to reach the person immediately; most importantly, there is no rescue from the powerhouses.

If the enemy is too strong, then there is a high chance that one will die without a doubt.

"The result is good, except for five-star ruins," He said, looking at the group of most important runes, where the fighting is always most intense.

"Yes, the battles on four Grandmaster class star ruines and one High-Grandmaster class ruins are going especially intense," stated Lord Whitmore.

"It did not matter if we lose the normal ruins, but we should not lose the star runes; they are the ones that are helping this behemoth of war running," Matron Mavis said softly.

What is mean is that these are runes that are providing us a huge amount of high-quality resources, and war needs resources. Every part of war requires resources, and if we lose them, then it will be good as losing the war.

"We are going to reinforce it with more Grandmasters, and Grandmaster Zaar will himself will reinforce the luminescent ruin," said Lord Whitmore, surprising me greatly.

I had just informed them about my intention to join the war for a longer duration two days ago, and they have already sent me to the mission. It is a good thing; I have already finished with most of the responsibilities, and the other things will be handled by others.

This year, I have tried hard to make most of the process independent of me, and I have largely succeeded. 75% of the treatments did not require me to be present, which is starkly different from the 20% at the beginning of the project.

Now, I could stay away two weeks or even three weeks away from the project; as long as I finish my responsibilities within a week, I will be ready to join the war again.

That is what I am planning; till I get combat data to my satisfaction, I will spend most of my time in the war, which is easily a few months or more than six months. Nothing could be said, though the things will go fast if I got quality enemies.

"Don't send too much reinforcement; we barely have enough Grandmasters and High-Grandmasters to manage the Grimms; it will be a disaster if Grimms suddenly poured a huge number of powerhouses and we don't have enough people to deal with them," advised the patriarch Bradford.

"We understand that and keep a sufficient number of powerhouses hidden," Grand Commander replied.

The meeting lasted for another before coming to an end, but before I could leave, I found matron Mavis in front of me.

"I would have very much liked it if you had stayed in the safety of the Pyramid, but I know self-progress is important too, and combat is a very fast way to get it," said Matron Mavis.

"But I hope you will remain careful, the Grimms are the only things that kill you, and your luck wouldn't be with you to help you get out of every problem," she said and disappeared, leaving a stumped for a few seconds.

I disappeared just as I came to myself and walked toward the teleportation formation; since I was leaving at dawn, there were many things for me to do, and I did not have much time.

It would be great if the Pyramid could have given notice of a day than the few measly hours; I could not even say proper goodbye to marina with the time I have.
