3405 Chase
I flew over the river and took a left turn.
I am three and a half days away from Javelin City. I have been traveling fast toward it since I had come out of the Ounal forest.
Things are strange around Javelin.
On the surface, everything is good, but inside. People are getting kidnapped and robbed.
Though, a few are getting, and those who are killing are getting punished heavily.
It is due to these incidents, there has been heavy patrol around Javelin City. Within a day, I have seen six Earth Sovereigns, with their soul sense spreading over a large area.
I felt a little relieved. I don’t want to get kidnapped or, worse, killed.
The scenery of the Javelin is quite beautiful, with many towns and villages in between.
It is rare to see so many villages and towns. They are not dense, as they are in the territory of the Javelin Organization.
Such densities only occur when the areas are well protected, and they are well protected. It is not just the Earth Sovereigns, that are patrolling, but also Sovereigns.
Their patrolling is quite common.
Though not in as many numbers as it is happening right now. It is also due to special circumstances.
The more I heard about it, the more I wanted to stay away, but I also reach the city as soon as possible. I have heard a lot about opportunities and the more I heard, the more excited it made me.
From what I had heard. It is a great opportunity for me. Especially now, when I am creating the Sovereign Inheritance.
So, despite the risks, I decided to make my way toward Javelin.
A few hours passed and I landed on the ground and walked toward the very hidden spot, that Nero had found, before taking out my abode and entering inside.
I have been traveling since before dawn and have to eat.
Though, it is not the reason, I had stopped. I stopped because it is time for the lesson and I didn’t want to miss anything.
I entered the library and sat at the table, before opening the book. There is a little more than half an hour before the lesson starts and I want to get some study done before that happens.
Soon, an hour passed, and she appeared.
“Teacher,” I greeted. To which she nodded, “We will start with where we had left off, yesterday,” she said and begin.
The lesson lasted for three hours and twenty-six minutes before it was over, and she disappeared. I stayed and studied for a few hours, before walking out of the core.
I ate the dinner that my clone had cooked, before getting out of the abode.
Once again, I resumed my journey toward the Javelin.
A few hours passed, and everything was going smoothly when a message from Nero rang through my mind.
‘Father, a few people are coming toward you,’ said informed Nero, and he showed them to me.
Hun!
I couldn’t help but get confused for a moment. These people are not coming from a single direction, all three of them are coming from four different directions, with their target being me.
If Nero didn’t have such a wide sensing range; I wouldn’t have been able to sense them coming at me.
This is a genius strategy; it had been a while since I had seen it used.
These four people maintain a huge distance and follow a specific path at a specific speed. If Earth Sovereign were to see them, they would look unconnected to each other, but they are.
So, the moment the prey enters their range; all of them would be moving toward it.
They are coming toward me, and I have no intention of wasting my time with them. So, I increased my speed and moved toward the person coming from me in the front.
All of them are peak Sovereigns, but I didn’t fear them.
A minute passed, and I could see the green skin man. It is from the race, that I am currently impersonating.
My methods are not good as Magnus’s; he could take the shape of nearly any race with his methods. I couldn’t, but with bone manipulations and formations inside my core, I could impersonate in quite a race.
Though all these races, needs to be closer to human, with the traits, I could copy.
Currently, there are twenty-one races I could turn to and twelve that looked like a half-breed. It may not be much, but it gives me great freedom; that I had started to stop using human identities.
Every month, the list is increasing. By next month, I planned to add another three races to my collection.
Soon, there is only a mile of distance between us, and a Gomrves man, took out his long sword.
“Stop or I will use force,” he warned, but I kept moving.
Seeing that, the anger couldn’t help but blaze in his eyes and I could see his aura flaring.
He is ready to attack me. Usually, I would deal with such people, but fighting is going to bring more trouble than I want.
“You asked for it!” he said as we appeared in front of each other and swung his red sword. It came closer and closer to me, till there were only a few inches between us, when I disappeared.
I appeared behind him and instead of attacking back; I increased my speed further.
I could feel the anger in his eyes as he turned and started to chase me. Seeing that a smile couldn’t help but appear on my face.
Let them chase me; I want to see how long they will be able to.
All four of them are Peak Sovereign, like me, and not average at all, but I don’t think they have enough speed to catch up to me, but they are trying.
Trying desperately.
A few minutes passed and the distance between us keep widening, but they keep chasing me.
I thought they would give up seeing how futile it was, but they were not willing to do that. I don’t mind; I am even enjoying it.
It is a change in my monotonous journey, where I get utterly bored.
Sometimes, in a safe area, I would only use a fraction of the power of a fly, while I go to my core and work. As I would only need to fly, all the scouting is done by Nero, and he warns us if there is any danger.
A few more minutes passed, and I could barely see them, but they were still chasing me.
Seeing that, I increased my speed even further and a minute later, even their soul sense couldn’t touch me, but they were still chasing me.
I didn’t have to think much to understand why they are doing that, but still surprised, by the risk they were taking.
‘Father,’
A couple of seconds passed when Nero’s voice rang out in my mind, and it was a grave.
A moment later, my expression turned grave too.
