2945 Promise
“The bastard was really irritating, but I get quite a lot from him,” I replied, “Well, you have got the benefits, so you can’t keep complaining,” said Marina admonishingly.
“That is true, too,” I said as I nuzzled her neck with my nose. “Don’t start; we both have work to do,” she protested weakly.
“Don’t worry, it won’t take long,” I said as I pressed her against the wall and took her lips into mine.
In the next minute, our clothes flew across the lab, and for one and a half hours, erotic moans began to rang out through the house.
“I told you,” Marina said accusingly as she tried to get up from the couch where we both were lying naked on top of each other.
“Stay,” I said; she resisted for a moment but stopped when she saw a look in my eyes.
We did not speak at all, just lay silently as my hands gently messaged her hair and back.
“I wish we could spend all our time like this,” she said softly after some time. “We will,” I promised.
I want this, I want to spend every moment of my life without worrying about anything, and that time will come.
She deserved it, I deserved it, every human in the world desert it, and I will give my all to achieve it.
In this war, either they will die, or we will, and for the people I love, I will make sure it is Grimms who will be wiped away from the face of the earth.
We stayed on the couch in silence for more than half an hour before getting up and wearing the clothes that were scattered all across the house.
A few minutes after that, we ate dinner before Marina went back to her lab while I stayed in the living room. Which is for the best, given how hard it is for me to control myself around her.
I laid on the couch, which still had Marina’s smell, and closed my eyes.
A night passed when I opened my eyes; I went to my house and had breakfast with my father and sister before she went to her school, and I returned to Marina.
While I am working, the humans and Grimms are fighting; the Grimms are still using their top-level powerhouses.
They are still hiding their lower-level powerhouses; as for whether they just keeping them back or doing something, we don’t know; the information related to it is air-tight.
This is why the supreme commander had sent her own sister and professor to find out.
Once we have got the information, we could form a better plan. We could even launch an all-out attack; if we found the Grimms had taken their powerhouses somewhere.
The chances of succeeding would be good, at least killing a few, as long as they don’t have that double-number advantage. Which they still have, even after killing, so many of their powerhouses; they always survive due to this advantage.
If we are able to trim their numbers, we will have a great advantage against them in the final battle.
I had worked for four hours before I opened my eyes and disappeared, and appeared in the healing hall. Grandmistress Charline and Salvador were already present.
With the bastard Carmichael, the pressure on the Grandmistress Charline had lessened a lot; now, most of the healing was handled by him, and she could now focus more on research.

As I appeared, we did not waste any time and began the preparations.
“The number of resources we are using at the scale, I don’t think they have ever been used before, especially with our efficiency,” said Grandmaster Salvador as we drew out a huge formation from ink he had made.
“That is undoubtedly true,” replied Grandmistress Charline as she spoke through the energy.
It took us thirty-five minutes to complete the preparations, which we triple-checked. The method is very dangerous, even more dangerous than what we have used on Patriarch Bradford yesterday, so we need to be careful.
Buzz!
“Lord Zaar, Grandmasters,” greeted Lady Vivian as she appeared.
We are not only targeting the old Grand Lords but also some new ones like Supreme Commander and her sister. They have the power of the Grand Lord, despite being a High-Grandmasters, so when they level up, the power they will be able to project will be immense.
Supreme Commander, Lady Vivian, and Rai are the biggest hope against whatever new the Grimms would bring out, especially Lady Vivian.
Unlike Rai and the supreme commander, she does not have that dangerous curse inside her.
So, if she wants, she can level up without any problem, but before she does that, I need her to strengthen her body, soul, and energy to the limit.
I am using everything I have, not even holding back on the rule-bending power so that I would be able to progress over their limit.
“What do I have to do?” she asked, “Just sit in the center of the formation and seal all your energies,” I said, to that, she nodded and appeared directly in the center of the formation before sitting.
Buzz!
As she did, the formation had activated, and at the same time, I materialized her meta-scan in front of Grandmaster Salvador and Charline.
“Lady Vivian’s meta-scan is quite different from others,” said Grandmaster Salvador. “The grand art,” said Grandmistress Charline through her energy voice.
The Grand Art changes everything, from the body, soul, and energy; everything changes according to it as one progresses higher in it.
Lady Vivian had progressed quite higher than in grand art, and it showed in the constitution as it had not only to change her body, soul, and energy, but also her core, which had become completely glassy, but such thing only happened, when both art and inheritance in synchronization.
This synchronization is very important as it increases the power of the core and also the Grand Art.
In the fifteen minutes of activation, the whole formation had climbed up on her body; there was not a single thing space on her body that hadn’t been covered by the formation.
The formation had already started working inside her, releasing the glassy energy inside her, which would merge with every part of her, including her core.
A few days ago, I had asked her to give me concentrated energy of art and inheritance; I had mixed it with rule-bending power and a few other things, creating something that would strengthen her and help her go above the limit.
The method is working, and there is not even the slightest problem; if I want to, I could easily leave as looking at how things are going, I don’t think there would be any problem, but I am not leaving.
This formation is very dangerous, fatal even, so I need to be here in case something goes wrong.
Though I will not waste time, after a few minutes, I sit down in the corner chair and close my eyes, and begin working inside my core.
Buzz!
Around forty-seven minutes had passed when suddenly, I opened my eyes.
The formation is fine, it holowatch that buzz, and after a single buzz, the projection of the grand commander appeared over it.
“Lord Zaar, the old snake had appeared,” she said, and my expression couldn’t help but turn serious; I did not forget what the bastard had said last time when it had left.
