2756 Ghostly Skull
“Let me,” I said to Jim when he tried to lift the bowl, he nodded and stepped aside, and I fortified my armor further and raised my hands to lift the bowl from the stone coffin.
Ever since I have stepped into this garden, I have been getting that nagging feeling of great danger, and I have searched for it everywhere but did not find one, and even now, when the time of our leaving had come.
The only place could come from was the bowl, so I decided to take matters into my hand because my chances of surviving whatever danger was much bigger than Jim and Lester’s.
My hands touched the golden-blue bowl, and it felt slightly colder to touch; considering it is sunny in the garden, aside from this little anomaly, everything seemed fine. Seeing that, I lifted the bowl or tried to when suddenly the silver and golden formation appeared on the coffin and lit up resplendently.
Hun!
The formation did not give me a good feeling at all, and I immediately tried to let go of the bowl, but before all my fingers could leave it, strange energy came through the bowl from the formation and struck me, bypassing my defenses like they did not exist at all.
I couldn’t help but laugh inside me at the futility of my defensive measures, which were not able to stop this energy for even a fraction of a second.
I could hear the screams of Jim and Lester, who seemed quite far despite them being close to me. They tried to shake me off my freeze, but the energy inside me reacted, sending both of them flying far away.
I wanted to tell them to stop, but my mouth and soul were frozen; I could not tell the condition of my friends or know whether they have survived.
The energy did not harm me, but I could feel it scanning my body and soul before going at my core, from where it had repelled hard. It tried again and was nearly completely destroyed; only a small part remained, which seemed intelligent enough not to try at my core again.
The energy did not remain in my body and went back into the coffin, but to my surprise, I still remained frozen on my spot.
<strong>’Hahaha… It’s worth it, definitely worth it,'</strong> a mad laughing voice rang out in my mind, making my frozen body shudder in absolute fear.
After these years, I have nearly forgotten about my constitution, an extremly rare one that is desired by powerful powerhouses. I have read about it in great detail in Hermes library; it is the constitution that could hold any soul and restrict it from universal decay.
This is the greatest advantage, as normal bodies, even those created by their DNA, would not stop the universal decay, but mine could. My constitution is extremly useful to powerhouses that they have waged for it and even spent their fortune; having someone like me is akin to having a second life.
<strong>’My sacrifice for all these years worth it, I have finally found a body that will foster this soul of mine!'</strong> it said as it calmed down, and next second, I saw the formation on the coffin change, transformed into something else, before it slid over me and covered my body whole.
I watched it all with horror as the golden and silver covered every part of my body, and I was powerless to do anything against it.
I could not even self-destruct, taking it with me as it had cut off my connection with my core; I could not do anything other than watch it takes control of my body.
Finally, the formation covered my body whole, both inside and outside, when a wisp of ghostly green fire came out of the coffin. The wisp is the size of my thumb and looked like it could go off any time, but a faint aura coming from it would have me freeze up without the aid of formation.
It is beyond powerful, so much that it could snuff out the Grand Lord with just the power of its aura, and that is the moment it came out, the power of the world began gathering.
The wisp seemed to understand what was happening and immediately sped toward me and seeped inside; the moment it did, I felt like I had been submerged in the world’s coldest water with a death aura; that wisp seemed to have contained all the world deathly cold.
<strong>’Finally, my wait of two hundred thousand years is over,'</strong> said the wisp, ‘My enemies should prepare themselves; once I return, I will bring the death to them,’
The wisp roamed around my body before it came back to my chest and fixed itself into the center of the golden-silver formation imprinted there.
<strong>”Little human, you should feel grateful that this body of yours now going to be of great Kal’aza; I will take it to the height that you have never ever dreamed in your wildest dream,”</strong> It said.
‘Fuck off!’ I cursed; I did not ask for mercy as I knew I would not get from it, so cursing seemed like a choice.
<strong>’I was going to show mercy, seeing I am using your body, but you disrespected the great me; I will give pain you have never experienced in your life,'</strong> It said, and I felt such cruelty that I did not sense it from even the Grimms.
Buzz!
The formation it had fixed itself in buzzed, and the kindle ghostly green flame spread through the formation, turning the golden and silver runes into the ghostly green.
Within a few seconds, my whole body began to bathe in the ghostly green flames, making me feel such cold that I felt like even my soul would turn into a block of ice and turn to pieces.
In a couple of seconds, the ghostly fire had spread into every rune, and I understood the time had come for it to snatch my body.
Buzz!
<strong>’Now, give me your body, human!'</strong> It shouted, and I saw the kindle, which was reduced to half its original size, taking the size of a horned skull and opening its mouth as it activated the formation.
As the formation activated, I felt the pull, not to my body, but to my soul; it was trying to suck my soul, and it was getting powerful very quickly, making me feel the pain that became intense in seconds; I will have no choice but to scream.
“Ahhhhh…”
Four seconds later, I screamed, and these screams got louder and louder every second as the pull to my soul got stronger and stronger. If this continues, then it won’t take more than a few minutes for it to completely fill my soul out, and what it will do with it will be horrific without doubt, I am sure of it.
<strong>’Scream, human, scream loudly; it has been a very time since I heard the beautiful screams,’ </strong>said the fire skull laughing, and I wanted to stop screaming, just to piss it off, but I could not. The pain is too much for me to not scream.
Hun!
The pull got stronger and stronger when suddenly everything stopped.
