556 Money Mongrel
Chapter 556 Money Mongrel
The inferno surrounding Roni danced with an ethereal beauty, its orange and red hues swirling with raw, untamed power. The scorching heat radiating from the flames distorted the air around him, creating a mirage-like effect.
A collective gasp escaped the lips of both allies and enemies as they watched in awe and horror. Roni's smug expression twisted into one of sheer agony as the searing flames licked at his form, reducing his once imposing figure to a charred silhouette.
One shot! With one shot, Roni was gone! Amongst all of them, he was the one with the highest DEF and MDF, but he was gone with just a simple [Flame] spell.
Just how high was Ren's INT?
He was really not joking when he said that his ATP was already in the 500.
Silvia, Pamela, Lucia, Ruru, and the rest of the Golden Phoenix looked on with a mix of astonishment and trepidation.
Ren, whose arrival had breathed new life into their weary souls, had unleashed a force beyond comprehension. His spell had transformed the battlefield into a spectacle of awe-inspiring destruction.
Amidst the conflagration, Ren looked at Fate Alliance and Great Dynasty in boredom. "Who's next?"
A solemn silence settled upon the battlefield. Golden Phoenix exchanged glances, their faces reflecting a mixture of shock and awe at the devastating power that Ren had unleashed.
Fate Alliance and Great Dynasty's facade of arrogance was shattered by the fate that had befallen Roni; they hesitated, their confidence waning in the face of such overwhelming power.
"Let's get out of here," muttered Rayna, shaking. Her face was white, and her breath was heaving.
Dimitri and Hugo exchanged a wary glance, their expressions etched with a mix of realization and apprehension. The weight of their impending defeat settled heavily upon their shoulders as they grasped the magnitude of Ren's power. They knew that even with their combined strength, they stood no chance against the united force of the Golden Phoenix, especially with Ren now fighting alongside them.
Dimitri's voice quivered slightly as he attempted to compose himself. "Wait, hold on a moment," he stammered, his attempt at a smile appearing forced. "Perhaps we've misunderstood each other. There's no need for further bloodshed. Let's find a peaceful resolution to this conflict."
Hugo, his usual air of confidence wavering, added with a touch of desperation, "Yes, Dimitri is right. We've come to realize that our paths may not be so different after all. We seek to explore this world like you. How about we give you some potions as compensation for this misunderstanding?"
Golden Phoenix, their weapons were still drawn and their gazes unyielding, listened to the pleas of their adversaries. The air crackled with tension as the weight of the decision hung in the balance.
"Bunch of low life," Lucia hissed. "Man up and accept your death!"
"There's no misunderstanding here. You surely meant to kill us," Silvia said, face solemn. "As you said, this is a competitive game."
Ren took a step forward, his voice cutting through the air like a blade. "Ready to turn into particles?"
The weight of impending defeat hung heavy in the air, etching lines of worry and fear cross Fate Alliance and Great Dynasty's faces. Dimitri, grasping at a final straw, mustered his courage and attempted a veiled threat, hoping to sway the outcome in their favor.
Dimitri straightened his posture, a forced smile playing on his lips as he spoke with a touch of bravado, "You should think twice before making an enemy of not only our guilds but the number one guild, Black Lion as well. Our influence reaches far and wide, and crossing us would have dire consequences."
Silvia, undeterred by Dimitri's words, met his threat head-on. Her eyes narrowed as she retorted, "We were enemies from the start. What's new?"
Ren's voice carried a finality that left no room for negotiation. "Enough talk. The time for redemption has passed. Face the consequences of your actions and accept the fate that awaits you."
Ren's declaration echoed across the battlefield, a resolute command that brooked no further negotiation. The fate of Fate Alliance and Great Dynasty was sealed, their actions catching up with them in the face of a player named Ren.
As the battle recommenced, swords clashed, and magic crackled in the air; Dimitri and Hugo, driven by fear and desperation, made a futile attempt to escape the impending consequences of their choices. Their hearts pounding, they turned their backs on Golden Phoenix and Ren, hoping to flee from the battlefield.
However, their escape was short-lived. Elena moved with lightning speed. In a flash, she intercepted the fleeing adversaries, her weapon striking with deadly precision. With a single swift stroke, she brought Dimitri and Hugo's lives to an abrupt end.
Rayna and Fern, the last members of Fate Alliance and Great Dynasty, found themselves caught in the path of Ren's formidable spell.
In an instant, Rayna and Fern were enveloped by a swirling vortex of energy. Their bodies fragmented into particles, dissipating into the air like ethereal dust. The shock and disbelief painted across their faces mirrored the finality of their fate.
The battlefield fell into a momentary hush. The once chaotic arena now lay still, the scent of victory mingling with the smoke of battle.
Golden Phoenix, battered but triumphant, stood amidst the wreckage, their eyes filled with a mix of relief and gratitude.
"Thank you," Silvia said, smiling.
"Don't thank me. I'm just doing my job," Ren said. "Don't forget our deal."
Silvia laughed while the others sighed in relief and took a moment to catch their breath.
"Just give me your account, and I'll wire you the money. However, you need to wait for me to log out since the outside world is shut off inside here. Is that fine?"
"It's fine." And Ren gave her his account number.
When the number was registered to her database, Silvia was stunned in place because it was the exact same account that Ren from before had given her.
Silvia whipped her head at Ren, eyes wide. "You . . ."
Ren put a finger over his mouth, signaling Silvia not to blurt it out. "I prefer that you not inform the girls. They could be a little . . . rowdy."
The shock on Silvia's face broke into a soft smile that made her from a goddess to divine.
"I know what you mean." Silvia giggled. "Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me. But can we negotiate about that million–"
"No," Ren cut her off.
Silvia stuck her tongue out. "You never change, you money mongrel."
