Chapter 548 - Celestial Ocean
Chapter 548: Celestial Ocean
Jiang Feng had gotten a lot of information from his conversation with his dad.
To summarize, there were two computer chips and a metal ball that fell on Earth twenty years ago.
His dad was very lucky when he discovered one of the computer chips and the metal ball. The other one was picked up by someone and was given up to the state for research.
Meanwhile, he himself swallowed the metal ball and it had possibly become the Monster Transmutation System.
One of the two computer chips gave birth to Divine Dominion, and the other was still in his dad’s hand.
The reason that the Xuanyuan family and other factions kept their eyes on his dad was because they knew that he had the other computer chip, and they all wanted it.
That was the reason why his dad had the conversation with Xuanyuan Tianjing at the Xuanyuan family’s.
His dad had also made some discoveries from the other computer chip and uncovered a message
The message was related to Divine Dominion and he needed to first reach the Mythic Saint level to learn more about it.
After digesting all the information, Jiang Feng went against his original decision on returning to rest and instead directly entered the game.
Whichever of the players that reach the Mythic Saint level first would have the right to know about the message. He did not want to let the other players obtain it, as it might cause harm to the Jiang family.
The other reason that he was in a rush to get back into the game was that he wanted to upgrade the Monster Transmutation System.
Qingqiu would be departing to the Yin Sect in a while.
During this period, he was going to upgrade the Monster Transmutation System again so that he could exchange for another Divine Beast to protect the Animal Arena.
After entering the game once again, he reappeared on the plaza next to the Shifter Emperor’s Palace within the Ancient City.
As he did not enter the game for around three days, he did not know what happened within the game during his absence. He then opened the official message board and began to give it a read.
At this level, most players had already reached level 190. Some of them had even reached level 200.
That meant that in another 50 levels, they could then head to Dragonquarry.
Ding. World Announcement: The Nine Great Temples are now open!
Ding. World Announcement: The Celestial Ocean is now open!
Ding. World Announcement: As most players have completed their Sacred Quests, the game’s Four Sacred Leaderboards are now open. These are the Saint Leaderboard, Lesser Sacred Master Leaderboard, Greater Sacred Leaderboard, and the Divine Saint Leaderboard. For players who have entered the Four Sacred Leaderboards, the higher one’s ranking is, the longer one can stay within the Nine Great Temples. Hope you all have a great time in-game!
T/L note: The author is finally spelling out who is who. Took him a while.
‘Hmm… The game was updated as soon as I came online,’ Jiang Feng thought to himself with surprise. ‘What are the Nine Great Temples and the Celestial Ocean?’
Curious, he opened the changelog and began to read its content.
He knew what the Four Sacred Leaderboards were. That was how they would be differentiating the powers of the players.
Therefore, he did not go check the Sacred Leaderboards. Instead, he began to read the introduction of the Nine Great Temples.
But after he clicked it open, he was stunned.
Because there was nothing underneath the Nine Great Temple’s introduction.
Curious, he then opened the Celestial Ocean’s content.
The Celestial Ocean’s updated information was not empty. Instead, there was a long introduction to it.
After browsing for a while, he understood.
At this stage, the players’ levels were not that important anymore. Instead, the key was their overall power.
Right now, it was known that players who had become Saints were more powerful than players who had not, Hidden Classes were more powerful than becoming Saints, and Inheritors as well as Descendants were more powerful than the Hidden Classes. There were no clear lines between their power.
The Celestial Ocean was to allow players to understand their overall power as well as where they were in terms of their levels of power.
The Celestial Ocean was separated into 32 oceanic territories.
After completing the first territory, it meant that they had the power of a Rank One Saint. After completing the second territory, it meant that they had the power of a Rank Two Saint, and so on.
Only when the players and NPCs evaluation were completed would they be allowed on the Saint Leaderboard.
Once they were on the Saint Leaderboard, they could then enter the Nine Great Temples at the end of the month so that they would have a general understanding of what it was.
“I should go to the Celestial Ocean for my evaluation, and then go for a lottery. I have to use the System Upgrade Scroll to upgrade the system.”
The Celestial Ocean could only be reached via teleportation by the Celestial Ocean NPCs.
Each nation would have one Celestial Ocean NPC. That meant that the Shifter Emperor Planet would have one as well.
He clicked open the map and quickly saw the Celestial Ocean NPC’s location.
The NPC was located within the Shifter Emperor’s City.
After entering the teleporter, he then teleported into the Shifter Emperor’s City, which was at the center of the Shifter Emperor’s Planet.
As soon as he walked out of the Shifter Emperor’s City’s teleportation circle, Heifeng and Yanhu ran toward him. Heifeng even brought Heixue along and was munching on a chicken drumstick as he said, “Shifter Emperor, where have you been? I couldn’t find you and my wife has been complaining that you are too irresponsible, and simply left the kids there and didn’t care about them. And you call yourself their teacher?”
Err…
Once he heard of Heifeng’s complaints, he then remembered that he was originally going to teach his five students something. But because of what was happening in the real world, he did not enter the game for three days and completely forgot about it.
He rolled his eyes at Heifeng and said, “You have so many complaints. Don’t teach Heixue those kinds of weird things again, or I’ll make sure that you won’t have any chicken drumstick!”
Heifeng quickly put away the chicken drumstick that he had munched halfway through. “Hehe, I was just saying, Boss. Don’t have to be so serious, right?”
“Boss, are you going to the Celestial Ocean too?” Yanhu asked.
“Yes.”
Jiang Feng nodded and did not say anything else, and then headed to the NPC that would teleport him to the Celestial Ocean.
While he was on his way, he met many of the members from the Shifters faction and they kept on greeting him. Some of the players that did not have the chance to look at him closely even screamed out excitedly.
Perhaps because of the scream, Xue Yingqi, Xue Haifeng, and the others all flew over.
When Xue Yingqi came next to Jiang Feng, he did not speak and simply looked at him weirdly.
Not only that, Xue Haifeng and Mu Xi were also watching him with a weird face.
When Jiang Feng saw that the three of them were looking at him weirdly, he stroke his chin and asked curiously, “What’s going on? Something on my face?”
Xue Yingqi then walked over and then began to walk by his side so that they were on the same row. She then asked in a hushed voice, “Jiang Feng, I never expected that you would be so bold as to sweep through the American’s Chinatown, killing around thirty Grandmasters from the Xuanyuan family and another dozen Grandmasters from the Baili family!”
“You know?” Jiang Feng looked at Xue Yingqi, shocked.
“Goodness. Who else on the upper echelon of the Chinese society wouldn’t know what you did. Even the Chairman himself knows about it,” Xue Yingqi said. “Can you maintain a low profile from now on? Do you know how many people you surprised with what you did?”
“How many?” Jiang Feng asked with a faint smile and in an indifferent tone.
Xue Yingqi then said, “All those rich businessmen that had business relationships with the Baili family and Xuanyuan family were all surprised. They were so terrified that a few became sick, and one of them even had a heart attack!”
“Seriously?”
“I am not joking. If something were to happen to the Baili family and Xuanyuan family, do you know how many large corporations will go bankrupt?”
“No.”
…
He did not care who he would be dragged into his vendetta. He only knew that he would have his vengeance by killing those who went against him.
