Chapter 457 - Coercion
Chapter 457: Coercion
The second stage of the plot quest for the Legend of Sword and Fairy was to find the Five Spiritual Orbs, the Qilin Horn, and the Phoenix Egg.
Jiang Feng remembered that he had managed to obtain the Fire Spirit Pearl from the Sacred Beast Fire Qilin.
While he did not know what it was back then, he finally realized that the Fire Spirit Pearl was needed to save Zhao Ling’er.
“Beep beep.”
Just as he was about to walk to Li Xiaoyao, his friend panel began to blink.
He opened it and saw that it was a message from Ling Feiyu.
Ling Feiyu. “Husband, you’re back?”
Jiang Feng felt the sweetness in his heart when he saw Ling Feiyu’s message and replied, “Yes. I missed you, so I came back to see you.”
Ling Feiyu. “Pfft… Right, You were originally at level 154 and now you are only at level 152. You died and was thrown back, right?”
Jiang Feng. “…Right, Wife. I’m at the Shifter Emperor Palace. Can you give me the Fire Spirit Pearl?”
Ling Feiyu. “Alright, wait a bit. I will give you a surprise later.”
…
After closing the chat panel, Jiang Feng then walked over to Li Xiaoyao.
“Shifter Emperor, please save Ling’er. I beg you…”
When Li Xiaoyao saw Jiang Feng walking over, he grabbed at Jiang Feng as tears streamed out from his eyes.
When he saw how sad Li Xiaoyao was, Jiang Feng did not expect that the NPC that looked like him so much would be so emotional and place so much weight on his relationship.
“You will need the Five Spiritual Orbs, a Phoenix Egg, and a Qilin Horn,” Jiang Feng said.
“Alright. Please take care of Ling’er for me, Shifter Emperor. I will go look for them!” Li Xiaoyao said.
“Let us go together.”
Just as he was prepared to leave together with Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru, Treasure Tang Yu had woken up and walked over emotionlessly and said, “I want to go as well!”
“Tang Yu, you…” Li Xiaoyao was shocked beyond belief when he saw that Tang Yu had lost both of his arms.
Tang Yu asked, “Is A’Nu alright?”
Jiang Feng then sighed, “She fell under the control of Bishop Baiyue.”
Tang Yu’s eyes became sharp.
“Alright, no time to feel sad. We must go and save the descendants of Nuwo first, and then we can go and deal with Bishop Baiyue.” Jiang Feng said and then left the Lianyao Flask with the three of them.
Once they were out of the Lianyao Flask, he saw a group of people coming toward him before he could leave the palace.
These were his old friends that he had left in the Ancient City.
Xiao Yatou, Houwang, Xiaotian, and the Silver Wolf King had all come.
“Er…”
What made him the most surprised was the pregnant Ling Feiyu.
Jiang Feng became extremely excited when he saw Ling Feiyu’s pregnant belly.
He quickly walked over and held her hands excitedly and asked, “We… We are going to have a child?”
Ling Feiyu smiled. “Stop being so foolish. This is but a child from the game. No need to be so excited!”
“Even if it is just a child from the game, it is also life, and the child of the Shifter Emperor!” Jiang Feng said excitedly. “When are you giving birth?”
While Divine Dominion was just a game and the child being born was just a super NPC that could evolve within the game, but to Jiang Feng, it was also his child.
Ling Feiyu shrugged. “Other players gave birth after 24 hours. I still have around ten hours to go.”
When Li Xiaoyao saw it as he stood behind Jiang Feng, he walked forward and took a mini sword and gave it to Jiang Feng. “Shifter Emperor, congratulations. This is too sudden and I didn’t prepare any gifts. Consider this Sword Seed* a gift from me to your child.”
T/L Note: Jian Pei or literally translated as Sword Embryos are items that commonly exist in the Cultivation genre as spiritual swords that can grow in power together with their owner.
“Thank you.” Jiang Feng nodded.
Next, Li Xiaoyao walked toward Ling Feiyu. He took out the Sword Seed that was as long as his palm. A light enveloped the Sword Seed, and he slowly pushed it into Ling Feiyu’s belly.
While he was not sure what kind of Sword Seed that was, he knew that the Sword Seed that Li Xiaoyao had given him would not be anything simple.
He then explained to Ling Feiyu about the plot quest for the Legend of Sword and Fairy. After obtaining the Fire Spirit Pearl, he then took Li Xiaoyao, Lin Yueru, and Tang Yu and teleported over to Nanzhao City using the Teleportation Circle.
Nuwa Temple was within the Nuwa Ruins.
The Descendant of Nuwa, Xue Yingqi had once told him that the Nuwa Ruins were within Nanzhao City.
Nanzhao City was located at the Southwest of the Shenyu Continent. It was also the location of the Baiyue Sect.
The Baiyue sect was also considered a proper Sect, and many of the players would come to learn and to find masters in the Baiyue Sect. The skills they learned were all Crowd-Control skills and could be considered one of the most powerful sects on the Divine Dominion Continent.
Nanzhao City was a territory under the control of the Divines.
However, for development’s sake, most of the factions’ cities were opened to all. That was why they teleported in.
As soon as they appeared on the Teleportation Circle, they were then surrounded by players.
The players were not his fans, and most of them were disciples of the Baiyue Sect.
“Shifter Emperor, give up the three people next to you. If not, you will not be able to leave Nanzhao City!”
“We are so sorry, Shifter Emperor. You have your quests, and we have ours. Can you please give up Li Xiaoyao, Lin Yueru, and Treasure Tang Yu? We will not trouble you anymore if you can give them to us. You will still be our idol.”
“That’s right. Since you are very powerful anyways, you won’t mind if it’s just a quest, right? But we’re different. We’re still very weak. This sect quest is very important to us. Treat it as taking care of the newbies.”
…
Around four thousand players surrounded the Teleportation Circle and kept on saying something to Jiang Feng.
They could all be concluded into one sentence. “You are already very powerful. Why don’t you give up this quest and let us finish our quest?”
That was a selfish thought.
It was as if others were wealthy and they themselves were the poor. But instead of working hard, they were forcing the wealthy to donate their riches to them. If the wealthy were to not do that, then they must be looking down on the poor. They were bastards and deserved whatever ill fate that was coming for them.
It was plain coercion.
“If you want your quest, then go find your own quests. If you want to finish your quests, then work hard and finish them. If you want to be strong, then you must keep on finding and fighting your way through. If you do not work hard, then you will always be at the bottom rank and you can never become powerful!” Jiang Feng said with a snort.
“What do you mean, Shifter Emperor? I am giving you respect! You are already so powerful, what is wrong with giving up one quest for us? We are all players from the Huaxia Server. Isn’t helping us your responsibility as the best player in the game? Who gave you the right to educate us? Who is the chicken soup* for?” A warrior player said arrogantly.
T/L Note: Meaning inspiring. It is also a reference to the self-help book series “Chicken Soup for the Soul.”
“Sigh… I am so disappointed. So, this is the type of person the number one in the Huaxia Server is? How selfish!”
“I am no longer a fan. So lucky that I didn’t choose to join the Shifters when I just started. If I just joined the Shifters and found out that this is how the Inheritor of the Shifter faction was, I would have deleted my account!”
…
The words that the players spouted made Jiang Feng laugh, “Are you trying to coerce me?”
“What do you mean by coerce? We are just telling the truth!” A female player stood out and said with self-confidence.
“Alright then. Let me tell you something. You are all rubbish. Even if you have joined the Shifter faction, I would have kicked you out either way. You bring nothing but shame!” Jiang Feng snarled as he slowly raised his head.
“Damn, let’s just kill him! With Master Baiyue helping us, he is not the match for the Baiyue Sect!” Many of the players became enraged when they heard what he had to say, and yelled, wanting to go after Jiang Feng.
