Chapter 6094, Erased
Chapter 6094, Erased
Author: Silavin
“You! So you’ve been listening in all along!? I knew it!” Immediately woken up from her slumber, Yang Xu immediately cursed.
Meanwhile, Yang Ji, who was just beside her on the bed, woke up as well and just silently waited for an answer.
“What are you staying silent for? Say something.” Yang Xu pressed and a sigh could be heard playing out inside their heads.
“To what end should I explain, when you refuse to grant faith to any utterance of mine? I bestowed upon you space within your own dreamscape. Yet you transgressed upon my boundaries, thereby obliging me to rouse you both from your slumber.” The Heaven Demon Queen said plainly and clearly, without any sign of guilt in her actions. It seemed as though she felt what she did was only right, since the Twins had stepped upon something they should not have.
“And we are supposed to believe that? How can we trust you!? You interfere in our conversations as you wish, you take actions without permission and questionable motives. Tell me, how can we really trust you?” Yang Xu questioned.
At this point, Yang Ji finally opened his mouth to calm Yang Xu down. It was obvious that even after a month together, the two had not gotten any closer to each other. In fact, it seems more likely that they just tolerated each other for his sake.
“Calm down. What I did doesn’t prove that she was listening in on us. But, it does show that it is not a one way street, correct?” Yang Ji then turned towards the Heavenly Demon Queen with that question and anticipated her response.
“*Haaa…* In the manner by which I may survey your lived experiences, you possess reciprocal capacity to survey mine as well. Naturally, not of the past beyond when we met but of the present times. It is for this singular reason, I deemed it neither necessary to mask my traces from you two, just the outsiders that may interfere.” The Heavenly Demon Queen said and continued, “What’s more, you should desist from probing any further. It is beneath a man of honor to interrogate a lady regarding matters she wishes to hold private.”
“In that case, since I’m not a man, I’ll do it.” Yang Xu rolled her eyes and scoffed but the Heavenly Demon Queen added, “It’s futile. That memory ceased existing.”
“What are you talking about?” Yang Ji asked while Yang Xu closed her eyes and focused.
“Then, stop playing around and let me check. Just pass me your memories of that time.” Yang Xu scolded. Typically, she and Yang Ji did not know how to access another party’s memories without their permission. In fact, she herself did not know how Yang Ji had managed to read the Heavenly Demon Queen’s memories while they were dreaming. Still, it was interesting that the Heavenly Demon Queen had admitted that she and her Brother could do the same to the Heavenly Demon Queen as she did to them–basically, spying on their every conversation and move.
“…” The Heavenly Demon Queen went silent for a while and surprisingly did as she was told. She flooded the Twins with memories of that time. In fact, she handed over memories of the entire day, till she returned to the Twins.
However, like a movie being played, everything was there but a section that went black and was without a sound.
Before the Twins produced any reaction, the Heavenly Demon Queen repeated, “As I had endeavored to convey, that memory has been removed from existence.”
“You did it on purpose!” Yang Xu was fuming at this point, and even Yang Ji did not calm her down. It was obvious that it was intentionally done. After all, that had seen part of that scene within the dream. How was it that this entire memory was completely void?
It was obvious the Heavenly Demon Queen must have erased it once she found out they could read part of her memories. There was no other explanation for this other than that.
At this point, Yang Xu could not help but try to attack the Heavenly Demon Queen. Unfortunately, since she was still within them, there was nothing physical she could do.
“Did you do it intentionally?” Yang Ji tried to calmly ask.
“What relevance does that possess?” The Heavenly Demon Queen said, but she received a stern silence in response, which pressured her to continue speaking. “I no longer know.”
“*Haaa…* Yang Ji sighed and then looked at Yang Xu and shook his head. [Be it if she is lying or not, we have no way to force her to talk. No point dwelling on this any further. Sure, we can’t have full faith in her, but since she is still answering our questions, it means she doesn’t want us to completely fall out.]
“Since there is nothing else to gain from this, let’s just leave this matter here. I guess we just have to wait until the plan you both have plays out.” Whatever the case, since their Father was present, Yang Ji did not feel the need to worry about this matter too much as he closed this chapter.
…
Over the course of the next few days, it seemed like matters had settled down. The cracks in the relationship between the Twins and the Heavenly Demon Queen did not make any progress in being resolved though.
Two parties were not interested in speaking and one party was not interested in asking. So, it seemed like a wall had been placed between them.
As for the academy, classes resumed as per normal.
To calm the nervous students down, there was naturally an announcement regarding the disappearances of certain students. The opinions were mixed on this, mostly positive. Many were disappointed they were not chosen while some felt frightened at how one could so easily get swiped in during the day within the school.
Still, even better news came as a few children actually managed to wake up within those few days. Naturally, these were not those who were granted insight into the Dao of Space or the Dao of Time. These children were those that had been granted insight into the Sword Dao or the Spear Dao.
It had to be said that it was fortunate that they woke up so quickly, since Yang Ji and Yang Xu’s mastery over those Daos were still quite rudimentary and these children were extremely talented in those Daos.
Of course, who was to say that the Wives did not have an estimate as to when a few of these children would wake up? After all, by some ‘coincidence’, the Wives handled a gathering of Parents the next day after the first child woke up.
Naturally, those children who underwent this ‘trial’ demonstrated their gains to better convince not only the other children, but the Parents as well–that this whole matter was a great opportunity for them.
It further cemented the idea that this had been a great opportunity, since these children had their strength increase by leaps and bounds. Some had even broken through their bottleneck the very moment they woke up!
In the face of this, how could the Parents truly criticise the school’s methods?
In fact, the Wives manage to turn things around in such a way that made it seem like these children had been fortunate to be selected. Though it had to be noted that technically these children had been filtered by their teachers first, before being selected by the Wives. Some might have lost the opportunity to take up these teachers as their Master, but not like the Parents would know, right?
Besides, could they not spin it in a way that opportunities were abound in High Heaven Academy, and the Parents should have faith in the school?
Of course, Yang Kai’s capable Wives knew how to play politics well against even top Forces. As Yang Ji had originally wanted, ties to Red Clouds Cave Heaven had gotten stronger. Though they had dropped the matter, in trying to tie their Young Master to be Yang Ji’s Disciple, the Wives have nevertheless established deeper ties to the Cave Heaven by purchasing partial stake in a few auction houses from them, while having the Cave Heaven’s people still run the business.
Also, due to those children that had the insight of both the Dao of Space and the Dao of Time needing to be more closely watched, the Wives gave their contact tokens to these children’s Parents.
All in all, as the Wives had promised Yang Kai, they neatly handled the matter without him needing to even show his face.
However, there was still one matter which had been left hanging, and that was the person in Yang Kai’s office that very day.
…
“I truly can’t see through you…” Yang Kai’s eyes widened as he looked at the young man in front of him, trying to peer into the latter’s Soul and uncover all his secrets. However, that seems impossible as this young man, Wu Lun, truly seems to just be in the Qi Condensation Realm.
Yet, how did a youth in the Qi Condensation Realm possibly reach his office, with Yang Kai only able to detect him when he entered the room?
Wu Lun smiled with confidence, as though nothing in the world could touch him. As though even the strongest of the 3,000 Worlds meant little to him.
“Wow. You aren’t as wary as that girl.” Wu Lun’s nonchalant smile made it seem like he was mocking Yang Kai, but he was genuinely praising him.
“So, what do you want?” Yang Kai sat up from his seat and asked, unamused by Wu Lun.
“Seriously, both of you two are so serious.” Wu Lun shrugged and got straight to the point, “I’ve come to an agreement with that girl. But, as their Father, I thought I’d best inform you about it prior, in case you case after me seeking revenge. I don’t want a misunderstanding to cause that kind of horrendous karma.”
“You speak as though I could actually do something to you.” Yang Kai mused at the thought, as even he could tell that Wu Lun was not someone he could handle while keeping the school safe.
Wu Lun’s eyes at that moment turned a little colder, “Who knows? Karma’s a bi⸸ch, and I would like to reduce as much of it as possible. But, I have an agreement that I need to abide by so I’m here to just inform you that we are going to take three of your children away.”
“What!?” At this point, Yang Kai could not keep calm any longer.
