“You can call me Black Soul,” the black-armored man said.
“Lord Black Soul,” Chu Feng greeted.
“Just Black Soul will do.”
“Black Soul.”
“That’s more like it. Come with me. I’ll bring you to meet Lord Monstrous God.”
Black Soul turned around and led the way.
“Monstrous God?” Chu Feng’s curiosity was piqued.
“Have you met Lord Spirit God?” Black Soul asked.
“Yes, it’s Lord Spirit God who sent me here.”
“The Nine Heavens Secret Domain is ruled by Lord Spirit God and Lord Monstrous God. I am Lord Monstrous God’s subordinate, and it was under Lord Monstrous God’s order that I tested you back then. Lord Monstrous God’s favor has graced you,” Black Soul said.
The Brush God roared from the void, “Oi, what nonsense are you spouting, Black Soul? Lord Spirit God has also shown favor to Chu Feng, all right?”
“My mistake, my mistake. That’s not what I mean.”
The imposing Black Soul bowed profusely toward the voice. His clumsy movements and his young, boyish voice were at odds with his imposing image.
He leaned toward Chu Feng’s ear and whispered, “That lass, Brush God, is Lord Spirit God’s subordinate, so you mustn’t talk badly about Lord Spirit God in front of her.”
Chu Feng chuckled.
Black Soul suddenly said, “Chu Feng, you’re a world spiritist too. Let me ask you a question. Formations require energy, which a world spiritist supplies in the form of spirit power. If a world spiritist wishes to maintain a formation even after he has left, he would require external energy. Do you think the formation will last longer when powered by treasures or living entities?”
“That’s hard to say. It depends on how potent the treasure or the living entity is,” Chu Feng replied.
“What if they are equivalent?” Black Soul asked.
“The living entity would be better. Be it treasures or natural oddities, they will eventually be depleted. Both the Spirit God and the Monstrous God were extraordinary individuals. Given that they ruled over this place, it wouldn’t be surprising if they were the ones powering it too.
“Of course not.” Black Soul shook his head.
“It has to be a living entity powering the formation, even if it isn’t Lord Spirit God or Lord Monstrous God.”
“Oh? Why do you think so?”
“There must have been a purpose behind your earlier question. I’m guessing this place is powered by a living entity, and that living entity must be extremely powerful and difficult to control. That said, I’m sure you have the power to suppress this living entity,” Chu Feng said.
“You’re right. The ones powering the Nine Heavens Secret Domain are immemorial monstrous beasts known as the Immemorial Realm Origin Beasts. Any one of them can easily destroy the present world of cultivation, and there are over ten million of them here,” Black Soul replied.

“No, I was merely wondering how strong you must be to suppress such formidable monstrous beasts,” Chu Feng replied.
“You’re trying to get information out of me again,” Black Soul said.
“I’m just curious,” Chu Feng replied with a smile.
“I can tell you the answer, but not now. What I’m saying is that Lord Spirit God and Lord Monstrous God are extremely powerful individuals.”
While they were chatting, Black Soul brought Chu Feng to a cliff. Right beside the cliff was a boundless abyss.
Chu Feng’s heart suddenly jolted. He suddenly felt killing intent so intense that it made him subconsciously retreat a few steps. It was so intense that anyone else in his place could have gone mad or even died from it.
The killing intent persisted, but Chu Feng faced no aggression. That emboldened him to take a look.
“Are the Immemorial Realm Origin Beasts down there?”
Chu Feng activated his Heaven’s Eye to take a look. He deduced the killing intent was from the Immemorial Realm Origin Beasts, for it didn’t come from an individual but a massive army.
Soon, he spotted a pair of blood-colored eyes that looked as big as the sun in the depths of the abyss. Its eyes looked humongous despite being extremely far away from Chu Feng. Its body must have been bigger than even a larger Upper Realm.
And unlike mere avatars, this was its true body!
But what Chu Feng feared more than its size was its strength. He sensed that the other party could easily disintegrate his soul with a mere thought before he could even process what was going on.

“Lord Monstrous God, I have brought Chu Feng here.” Black Soul bowed at the abyss.

He could already guess as much that Lord Monstrous God was the one suppressing the ten million Immemorial Realm Origin Beasts. The latter must have been the one suppressing their power within the abyss.
“You need not be so restrained, Chu Feng. You have already received our preliminary recognition to be able to stand before me. You can be somewhat considered one of us now,” a deep voice echoed from the abyss.
The world shook. It felt as if a deity was issuing his divine decree.
It was a relief that the Monstrous God’s tone was gentle.
