Chapter 6344: The Heavenly Sacred Temple's Origin
Looking at the vast expanse of space in front of him, Chu Feng suddenly felt incredibly uneasy. Unlike the starry world of cultivation that embodied hope, this vast space felt desolate like death.
Deep in this space, a woman dressed in white was reading an ancient scroll in a tower.
She was Tianjian Qingyuan, a prodigious member of the Heavensword Sacred Palace descending from the Ancient Era. The present Heavensword Sacred Palace revered her as their ancestor. Given her background and strength, she deserved that level of respect.
But she couldn’t care less about that. She had no intention of intervening in the Heavensword Sacred Palace’s affairs, evident from how few people got to see her.
All of a sudden, she stood up and cast her gaze at the depths of this desolate space. Fear was reflected in her eyes.
Blue irises reminiscent of frost appeared in her vacuous eyes. This pair of eyes seemed capable of seeing through everything. Yet, she looked confused.
“Am I imagining things?” Tianjian Qingyuan murmured doubtfully, but her eyes lit up shortly after as if she had seen something. “No, it isn’t my imagination. What could be the reason behind this sudden change? Could it be because of those children?”
She cast her eyes on the warship at the entrance, specifically Chu Feng and the others.
On the warship, Chu Feng and the others turned to Tianjian Canhua and asked, “Miss Canhua, what is this place?”
“I don’t know either,” Tianjian Canhua replied.
“How did you find this place?” Chu Feng asked.
“An elder told us, but she isn’t familiar with this place either,” Tianjian Canhua replied.
“Chu Feng, this place gives me the creeps,” Eggy said.
If even the fearless Eggy was feeling uneasy here, this place must be dangerous.
“Few places can evoke such dread in me. Chu Feng, you have to tread carefully,” Eggy said.
She didn’t tell Chu Feng to retreat, knowing how much he cherished his grandmother. It wasn’t easy for him to catch wind of his grandmother’s news, so he couldn’t give up so easily.
Chu Feng turned to the Divine Deer and asked, “Elder, do you know this place?”
“I have never heard of this place. It’s my first time here. Try not to venture too deep, or else I might not be able to save you if you meet with a mishap.”
Chu Feng felt even more uneasy. The Divine Deer was his strongest life-preservation means. This place must be very dangerous if even the Divine Deer wasn’t confident of saving him.
“Where’s my grandmother?” Chu Feng asked Tianjian Canhua. He wanted to find his grandmother as soon as possible.
“I’ll bring you there,” Tianjian Canhua replied.
The warship was moving extremely fast. They passed through countless realms; most realms were pitch black and devoid of life, but there were still a handful of realms that emanated light.
The warship finally landed in a realm.
This realm looked no different from the world of cultivation’s realms—it was neither a spatial realm nor a formation realm; it was a naturally occurring realm.
Venturing deeper into the realm, they soon arrived before an ancient palace bearing the words ‘Heavensword Sacred Palace’.
“Is my grandmother inside?” Chu Feng asked.
He couldn’t see through the palace with his Heaven’s Eye, and that made him feel nervous. Could the Heavensword Sacred Palace be even stronger than the Zhao Immortal Clan? Did my grandmother barge into the Heavensword Sacred Palace’s territory?
Tianjian Canhua didn’t answer the question. “Young friend Chu Feng, your friends will have to wait outside.”
“Go in and take a look. I should be able to protect them if something happens,” the Divine Deer said.
So, Chu Feng followed Tianjian Canhua into the palace.
The palace wasn’t big. They soon arrived before a door that led into a formation realm.
The formation realm was empty except for a humongous sword that pierced through the heaven floating in mid-air. This sword appeared to be forged out of white jade. It emanated a faint light, but the power it harnessed was tremendous.
“Is this where the Heavensword Sacred Palace passes down its legacy?” Chu Feng asked.
“Young friend Chu Feng is truly discerning. You were able to see through that?” Tianjian Canhua smiled.
Her attitude was gentler and more casual now that they were alone.
“I don’t understand, Miss Canhua. How can you not know this place when your sect’s legacy lies here?” Chu Feng asked.
“We moved here,” Tianjian Canhua replied.
That explanation sounded reasonable, so Chu Feng shifted back to the main topic at hand, “Why did you bring me here? Where’s my grandmother?”
“You’re familiar with the Heavenly Sacred Palace, right?” Tianjian Canhua asked.
“I have been there before. It’s a mysterious land containing countless treasures,” Chu Feng replied.
“What else do you know?”
“That’s all I know.”
“The Heavenly Sacred Palace used to be a power in the world of cultivation.”
Chu Feng’s eyes gleamed with curiosity. He had always thought the Heavenly Sacred Palace was just a treasure vault; he didn’t think that it was an organization that used to exist.
“It was the strongest power that dominated the world of cultivation in the Immemorial Era. It had 36 sacred palaces under its command, and each sacred palace wields formidable power.
“But for some reason, upon reaching the Ancient Era, the Heavenly Sacred Palace transformed into a place that one could only enter with Heavenly Sacred Beads. Only 17 of the 36 sacred palaces were left, and our Heavensword Sacred Palace is one of them.”
Eggy was taken aback. “The Heavensword Sacred Palace has such a background?”
Chu Feng also realized that he had underestimated the Heavensword Sacred Palace.
Seeing through Chu Feng’s thoughts, Tianjian Canhua added, “Our Heavensword Sacred Palace was a powerhouse in the Ancient Era, and we were only a faction in the Heavensword Sacred Palace. Our Heavensword Sacred Palace possesses one of the strongest bloodlines in the world, towering above the Heavenly Bloodline and all Divine Bodies.”
Tianjian Canhua formed a hand seal. The humongous sword in the sky vibrated before unleashing powerful sword auras.
Chu Feng could sense just how powerful the sword auras were.
“Young friend Chu Feng, how do you find my bloodline power?” Tianjian Canhua asked.
“It’s formidable,” Chu Feng replied.
“You can wield this bloodline power too,” Tianjian Canhua said.
Me?” Chu Feng was confused.
“You just have to consummate with a woman from our Heavensword Sacred Palace.”
“I don’t think the Heavensword Sacred Palace would allow such power to fall into the hands of an outsider, right?”
“Indeed, but neither are we that inflexible. We allow those who fulfill our conditions to join us, too,” Tianjian Canhua said.
“Is that so? Why don’t you recommend someone to me then?” Chu Feng joked.
“What do you think about me?”
Chu Feng froze up. He was just joking.
But Tianjian Canhua seemed serious about this.
