Chapter 6321: Zhao Tingxue
Having said his piece, Chu Feng took his leave.
The Zhao Immortal Clansmen immediately encircled Chu Feng, blocking his path. They didn’t intend to let him leave just like that.
But a glance from the woman sent them stepping back right away.
If not for this woman, the Zhao Immortal Clansmen would have surely attacked Chu Feng to retrieve their resources. So, Chu Feng clasped his fist toward the woman and said, “Thanks.”
“You need not thank me. That’s what you deserve. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Zhao Tingxue, the Zhao Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief’s daughter,” the woman said.
The crowd finally understood why the Zhao Immortal Clansmen were so respectful to her. It turned out that she was the clan chief’s daughter.
Zhao Tingxue was satisfied with the crowd’s reaction. This was the effect she wanted when she revealed her identity. She turned to Chu Feng and asked, “How should I address you?”
“Wu Ming (Nameless).”
“You don’t have a name?” Zhao Tingxue was perplexed.
“My name is Wu Ming,” Chu Feng replied.
He didn’t want to reveal his identity yet. While the Zhao Immortal Clan’s Zhao Daobin owed him a favor, he thought it was unwise to reveal his identity until he gathered more information about the Zhao Immortal Clan.
Besides, there was no guarantee that Zhao Daobin was trustworthy.
Zhao Tingxue might have done him a favor, but similarly, it was still too early to trust her.
“I see. Young master Wu Ming, may I know the names of your companions?” Zhao Tingxue turned her gaze to Wang Qiang, Little Fishy, and Xianhai Shaoyu.
“Wu Sheng (Soundless),” Little Fishy replied.
“Wu Qu (Disinterested),” Xianhai Shaoyu replied.
“Wu De (Virtueless),” Wang Qiang replied.
Both Little Fishy and Xianhai Shaoyu turned to Wang Qiang. They were not surprised by the lack of his stutter but his name. Chu Feng, on the other hand, smiled as he was already used to this side of Wang Qiang.
“Ah, you must be from the clan. That explains it. Would you and your companions be interested in coming over for a chat?” Zhao Tingxue said.
She waved her arm, and a palace rose from the ground. It was a treasure.
“My apologies, Miss Zhao. We have other business to attend to,” Chu Feng rejected the offer after some thought.
“Young master Wu Ming, it’s just a short chat. It won’t too long. I’m willing to offer you for it. Besides, I’m at the same cultivation level as Zhao Cangjing. We won’t be able to stop you from leaving,” Zhao Tingxue said.
She took out a hundred silver stone fragments and displayed her rank four True God level cultivation.
Chu Feng had won 500 silver stone fragments from Zhao Cangjing, but that was from a duel, and it wouldn’t have been that much if he hadn’t provoked the other party beforehand.
Zhao Tingxue’s offer was very generous.
“What do you think?” Chu Feng asked Little Fishy and the others.
“I’ll follow you,” Little Fishy replied.
“Brother Wuming, you can choose on our behalf,” Xianhai Shaoyu smiled.
“This miss has shown such sincerity. It w-w-would be impolite of us to continue turning her down.” Wang Qiang walked up to Zhao Tingxue and took the hundred silver stone fragments.
He already knew Chu Feng’s decision.
“This way, please.” Zhao Tingxue escorted Chu Feng and the others into the palace, but she stopped at the entrance and turned to the gloomy Zhao Cangjing. “Zhao Cangjing, you come in too.”
“Me?”
Zhao Cangjing had healed up a fair bit, but he was still in a very weakened state. His expression made it clear that he was reluctant to enter.
“Come in,” Zhao Tingxue repeated once more.
Seeing her commanding eyes, he weakly made his way toward the palace.
By the time Zhao Cangjing followed Zhao Tingxue into the palace, Chu Feng and the others had already taken their seats.
Wang Qiang glanced at Zhao Cangjing and said, “Miss Zhao, y-y-you’re so beautiful and kind. How is it that the other Zhao Immortal Clansmen are so a-a-arrogant and unreasonable?”
That pricked Zhao Cangjing’s nerve, but before he could say anything, Zhao Tingxue raised her hand to stop him. Zhao Cangjing had no choice but to swallow his words back in.
“Zhao Cangjing, aren’t you going to apologize to these gentlemen?” Zhao Tingxue asked.
Zhao Cangjing was stunned. “Tingxue, why should I...”
Zhao Tingxue interjected before he finished his words, “You should have duly informed others that you aren’t a junior when you set up this challenge. Shouldn’t you apologize when you have done wrong?”
Zhao Cangjing still refused to lower his head. “Why should I be blamed for their greed?”
Zhao Tingxue didn’t argue with Zhao Cangjing. Instead, she turned to Chu Feng and the others and bowed in apology. “Allow me to apologize to you on behalf of my clansmen. Zhao Cangjing is the grandson of our Zhao Immortal Clan’s Enforcement Elder Zhao Daobin. His parents passed away when he was still a child, so Elder Zhao Daobin dotes on him a lot, resulting in his hot-headed temperament. However, he isn’t a bad person at heart.”
Zhao Cangjing’s face darkened. “Tingxue, why are you telling these to outsiders?”
“I’m merely introducing you. Have I said anything inappropriate?” Zhao Tingxue asked.
Zhao Cangjing was tempted to argue, but he eventually swallowed his words. He didn’t know that Zhao Tingxue’s introduction surprised Chu Feng.
“Zhao Cangjing is Zhao Daobin’s grandson? Wow, the world of cultivation sure is a small place. I wonder if Zhao Daobin will side with his grandson or benefactor if he learns about this matter,” Eggy said.
“There’s nothing wrong with his challenge. The only issue here is the lack of a warning that some clansmen there aren’t juniors. It isn’t that big of a deal,” Chu Feng replied.
Zhao Tingxue dragged Zhao Cangjing into a seat before settling down. She turned to Chu Feng and said, “Young master Wu Ming, may I know where you obtained your resource from?”
Chu Feng had expected as much. The resources he had brought out were fake, but they were an imitation of what Long Zhuoyan had given him. He took out the resources and passed them over to Zhao Tingxue.
Both Zhao Tingxue and Zhao Cangjing were astonished. They knew these resources were much better than what they had, so they quickly grabbed some to examine them.
Weng!
As soon as they touched the resources, the resources suddenly dissipated as spirit power.
“Huh?” Zhao Cangjing was confused.
Zhao Tingxue burst into laughter. “Incredible, young master Wu Ming. Your forged resources had me fooled.”
“Forged?” Zhao Cangjing was stunned before realization struck him. He shot to his feet with veins popping at his temples. He glared at Chu Feng and roared, “You bastard! I’ll slaughter you!”
