Chapter 6317: The Zhao Immortal Clan’s Zhao Cangjing
Xianhai Shaoyu and his parents placed their hands on Wang Qiang’s body to inspect his condition. Only then did they realize that despite the latter appearing fine on the surface, his body was extremely frail as if someone had depleted his vitality.
“I’m fine. I just need some time to r-r-recover. Don’t worry about m-m-me. I can’t be a sore l-l-loser, right?” Wang Qiang was unfazed by it.
“What happened? What did they make you do that depleted your bloodline?” Chu Feng asked.
“They had me help them refine s-s-something that depleted my bloodline, but it’s fine. I didn’t hurt my c-c-core. It’s only a matter of time before I r-r-recover,” Wang Qiang replied.
Chu Feng already had some conjectures based on his observation, and Wang Qiang’s story was aligned with that. The situation was acceptable, but he couldn’t stand seeing his brother getting bullied by others.
“Is that person very strong?” Chu Feng asked.
“H-h-he is quite strong, and he has means too. But he shouldn’t be a match for you i-i-if you have reached rank three True God level,” Wang Qiang said.
“What a coincidence. I have reached rank three True God level,” Chu Feng replied.
“Big brother has made a breakthrough too?” Little Fishy exclaimed in delight.
However, the happiest one of all was none other than Wang Qiang.
“W-w-what are we waiting for? Let’s go! We need to g-g-get even for me!” Wang Qiang said.
“Let’s go then. I was planning to meet them anyway,” Chu Feng replied.
So, Chu Feng, Wang Qiang, Little Fishy, and Xianhai Shaoyu made their way to the Steel Peak. The peak was covered by a layer of spirit power that obscured the area while restricting access to only juniors.
Chu Feng stopped right before the spirit power layer to observe it.
Wang Qiang and the others stopped as well.
A while later, Chu Feng chuckled. “I see.”
“What is it?” Eggy asked.
Little Fishy, Wang Qiang, and Xianhai Shaoyu looked at Chu Feng with curious eyes.
“This spirit power is very strong; it is nigh impossible to overcome its restriction. It is also equipped with detection capabilities, possibly allowing them to detect the cultivation of those passing through the spirit power,” Chu Feng told Wang Qiang and the others via voice transmission.
Other than them, a steady stream of junior cultivators was also entering the mountain.
“It has such an effect?” Wang Qiang and the others were stunned.
They had passed through the spirit power, but they didn’t realize that it could gauge their cultivation. Soon, they widened their eyes in realization.
“No wonder the woman I f-f-first challenged rejected me, saying I was too ugly. That sent me spiralling into self-doubt. How an I-I-I be ugly? She must have known I was a rank three True God level cultivator and that she wasn’t a match for m-m-me! Damn it! They were c-c-cheating all this while!” Wang Qiang was infuriated.
“That seems to be the case. I tried challenging a weaker cultivator to see what I could get, but that person rejected my challenge under the excuse that he was cultivating. But while Brother Wang Qiang was sparring with that golden-haired young man, that fellow accepted someone else’s challenge and won.
“Yu’er secretly told me then that they were picking their opponents, but I shrugged it off. She was right all along!” Xianhai Shaoyu exclaimed.
“See. I told you there’s something off about them,” Little Fishy said.
“Don’t worry, I have a way to deal with that.”
Chu Feng formed a series of hand seals. It looked like nothing was happening on the surface, but layers of spirit power enveloped his soul, forming a formation that emanated the aura of a rank nine Half-God level cultivator.
“Let’s go.”
Chu Feng finally entered the mountain peak.
As he had expected, a discreet aura infiltrated his body when he stepped through the spirit power, but it only reached the formation enveloping his soul. The chances were that he had successfully deceived the spirit power.
The mountain peak was not small, but it wasn’t big enough.
There were a hundred stone plates at the center of the mountain peak. These stone plates were around ten meters in diameter, and a person was seated on each of them. There were both men and women among them, and they looked young.
They wore glowing golden robes that flaunted their strength and nobility, emanating auras that indicated that they were anything but ordinary.
They were Zhao Immortal Clansmen, and there would be rewards for defeating them.
The hundred stone plates floated at different altitudes, indicating their strength.
The one seated on the highest stone plate was a golden-haired man. He had fair skin and decent looks, but his eyes were icy-cold. He gave off a dangerous feeling that pushed others away.
While Chu Feng and the others were assessing him, he was doing the same. However, he merely cast a glance at Chu Feng and the others before turning his sights back onto Wang Qiang.
“You have returned. Do you want a rematch?” the golden-haired man asked.
“Zhao Cangjing, I-I-I’ll rechallenge you! Do you dare accept?” Wang Qiang asked.
Everyone seated on the stone plates instinctively looked at Wang Qiang. They were perplexed by how Wang Qiang knew the golden-haired man’s name.
“You’re too weak now. I’ll merely be bullying you. However, I’m in a good mood now. I’m willing to give that girl a chance if she wants to challenge me,” Zhao Cangjing said as he looked at Little Fishy.
“What’s wrong with that fellow? I thought he said Little Fishy wasn’t qualified to challenge him earlier? Why did he suddenly change his tune?” Eggy was confused.
“He might have used a skill that depleted himself while battling Wang Qiang, so he wasn’t confident of defeating Little Fishy in a weakened state. After all, Little Fishy is at rank three True God level as well, just like Wang Qiang,” Chu Feng replied.
“That man is despicable,” Eggy scoffed.
Little Fishy turned to Chu Feng and asked, “Big brother, can I fight him?”
Instead of answering the question, Chu Feng turned to Zhao Cangjing and asked, “Does it mean that my two friends are qualified to challenge you people now?”
Zhao Cangjing shook his head. “I gave them a chance, but they didn’t take it. Now, they don’t call the shots anymore. That girl only has the option to choose between challenging me or not. She doesn’t have the right to choose her opponent.”
“What about me?” Chu Feng asked.
“Hahaha!’
Laughter echoed throughout. It was not just Zhao Cangjing but all the Zhao Immortal Clansmen.
“You can choose whichever opponent you want,” Zhao Cangjing said after his laughter.
“Good.” Chu Feng smiled.
