Chapter 6309: Waiting For the Fish to Enter the Net
“Chu Feng, I didn’t mean to conceal the lord’s identity from you.
“It happened ten thousand years ago, before the emergence of the Ancient Era’s races, and Heavenly Gods and Heavenly Dragons were still legends from the earlier years of the present era. Our Dragon Breath Clan was small, but we were powerful. No one would dare to snub us.
“However, a series of events happened afterward that nearly led to our clan’s extinction. It was Lord Xuantian who rescued us.”
As Long Mucheng spoke, the Dragon Breath Clansmen also looked over. The gratitude reflected in their eyes showed how they felt toward Qing Xuantian.
Chu Feng and Eggy also realized something.
The Dragon Breath Clan should have been powerful even back then. If Qing Xuantian had the means to save them, it would mean that he was already very powerful back then.
“Lord Xuantian’s strength is unfathomable. I have no doubt that he could topple the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion if he wanted to rule over the world of cultivation. The only reason he remains relatively unknown is due to his low profile. That’s why I have never told anyone else about him,” Long Mucheng explained.
“I understand. Elder, do you know where Elder Xuantian is?” Chu Feng asked.
The Moon Immortal, who had possessed Su Mei and Su Rou’s bodies, had been looking for Qing Xuantian all this while. Ever since leaving the Ancestral Martial Galaxy, Chu Feng hadn’t heard anything about the Moon Immortal, Su Rou, or Su Mei.
With a storm brewing in the world of cultivation, Chu Feng was worried that they would meet with danger.
“Lord Xuantian entered the Ninth Galaxy many years ago. Before he left, he told our clan to breach this item, saying that our bloodline will undergo a metamorphosis if we succeed,” Long Mucheng said.
Long Zhuoyan said via voice transmission, “Someone, likely that Qing Xuantian guy, added another formation on top of that sealed item. By releasing the item’s seal, the energy buried here will be released as well. That power is probably what will help the Dragon Breath Clan’s bloodline undergo a metamorphosis.”
Chu Feng realized that despite the formidable prowess of his Heaven’s Eyes and Long Zhuoyan’s regressed spirit power, the latter’s judgment was still not something he could hope to match.
He didn’t notice the power hidden in this land.
“Chu Feng, Xiaoxiao, just give it a try and don’t stress yourself out. It’s fine if it doesn’t work,” Long Mucheng said.
Her eyes were expectant despite her words.
“Elder, I’ll give it my best.”
Chu Feng had been examining the sealed item while conversing with Long Mucheng. He had some clues as to what he should do, but he wasn’t certain if it was the right direction.
“Xiaoxiao, do you have the means to channel your bloodline power?” Chu Feng asked.
“Yes, I do.” Long Xiaoxiao nodded.
“I’ll construct a formation. You should be able to better channel your bloodline power through the formation. You’ll be the crux to breaching this formation,” Chu Feng said as he passed a pill to her. “Take this. It’ll help in the channeling of your bloodline.”
Unlike martial power and spirit power, bloodline power was not as easy to channel. However, the difficulty could be reduced through auxiliary means such as pills and formations.
“All right, I’ll listen to you,” Long Xiaoxiao replied with a radiant smile before popping Chu Feng’s pill into her mouth. She displayed absolute confidence in him.
Chu Feng continued observing the sealed item.
“What’s wrong? Is it tough?” Eggy asked.
“It’s the opposite. I’m conflicted because the solution isn’t as complicated as I thought it would be,” Chu Feng replied.
He didn’t want anything to go wrong, so he assessed the formation over and over again, but he remained uncertain about the solution he had come up with.
“Does the formation have any hidden tricks to it?”
“That’s what I suspect, but I’m not finding anything despite poring over the formation over and over again. The Dharma Emperor must have engaged many world spiritists to remove the seal. It can’t be as simple as I think it is, or else the other world spiritists should have lifted it by now.”
“Chu Feng, there are three possibilities to this situation.
“One, there might be something deeper hidden inside the formation. Two, the solution could be that simple, but the other world spiritists failed to find a suitable Dragon Clansman to breach the formation. Three, it’s possible the solution is only obvious to you, and that other world spiritists are unable to figure it out. You shouldn’t forget that you possess Heaven’s Eyes. It is capable of seeing things that other world spiritists can’t.
“I’m leaning toward the third possibility. I know you sincerely wish to help the Dragon Breath Clan, and you’re worried the breaching process might go awry and Long Xiaoxiao could get injured as a result. But things are not always that complicated. You need to trust yourself more. You are the person I have chosen, so take pride in that. I believe in you,” Eggy said.
“Your words make sense.”
Eggy’s words knocked sense into Chu Feng. Blind confidence was foolish, but so was a lack of confidence. Since he couldn’t find anything else, he should have more faith in his judgment.
So, he began constructing a series of formations. Each formation was extremely small, but they chained together like a massive army, tightly surrounding the sealed item. It looked complicated, but it didn’t take him much time to complete it.
“Xiaoxiao, enter the formation core and channel your bloodline power. Aside from that, I want you to pay close attention to my instruction. Crush this teleportation talisman as soon as I tell you to retreat.”
Chu Feng handed Long Xiaoxiao a teleportation talisman in case something went awry.
“Mm.” Long Xiaoxiao nodded.
“Young friend Chu Feng, are you going to breach the formation now?” Long Mochuan, a Dragon Breath Clan’s world spiritist, flew to Chu Feng’s side.
Long Moxiao, the Dragon Breath Clan’s chief world spiritist, also landed before Chu Feng. He didn’t utter a word, but the worry in his eyes said it all.
With their spirit powers above Chu Feng’s, they could see how simplistic Chu Feng’s formation was. The sealed item was extremely important to their clan, and they found it unbelievable that such a simple formation could breach its formation.
“Elders, this is the solution I have derived,” Chu Feng explained.
“This...” The two world spiritists frowned.
On the one hand, they knew how formidable Chu Feng was and knew better than to underestimate him just because his spirit power was weaker. In the first place, it was thanks to Chu Feng’s sharp judgment that they managed to break free of their imprisonment.
Still, they couldn’t shake off their worry.
“We’ll do as Chu Feng says,” Long Mucheng interjected.
As the Dragon Breath Clan’s leader, her words carried weight.
Long Mochuan patted Chu Feng’s shoulder and said, “Young friend Chu Feng, I apologize for doubting you. It’s not that I don’t trust you but this matter is simply too important to us. Please don’t mind me and do what you believe is right.”
Long Moxiao didn’t say a word, but he gave an affirmative nod.
Then, the two world spiritists took their leave.
Chu Feng glanced at Long Xiaoxiao. The latter nodded before entering the formation.
Everyone tensed up at this moment, including Chu Feng. Due to that, he didn’t notice Long Zhuoyan’s disappearance.
A humongous formation channeled using a powerful treasure surreptitiously sealed off this Immemorial Storage Realm as if a net awaiting the arrival of the fish.
