Chapter 1535 - 1535 Damn, Who Betrayed Him?
1535 Damn, Who Betrayed Him?
In the ward.
Jiang Li was on an IV drip and couldn’t move his body yet. He was bored lying in bed alone and was wondering if he should call a nurse to turn on the television for him. He would find a variety show to pass the time.
The ward door opened at this moment.
“You’re just in time.” Jiang Li propped up his free arm and spoke briskly. He turned to the door and said, “Come over and help me turn it on…”
The first thing he saw was the corner of a shirt.
He was still wondering why the nurse didn’t wear a uniform to work.
In the next second, Jiang Li’s expression changed drastically. He looked at the person who came in in shock and said, “Nian Nian.”
Sh*t, who sold him out!
Jiang Li instinctively wanted to sit up, but unfortunately, the anesthetic had yet to wear off. His entire body was weak and powerless. He could still lie on the bed, but he felt a little dizzy when he exerted force.
Qiao Nian walked over as if she knew what he wanted to do. She calmly picked up the remote control board on the cabinet beside the bed and turned on the television for him. “What do you want to see?”
There was some silence.
Jiang Li’s mind was blank. He looked at her and opened his mouth, but no words came out. “I’m fine with anything.”
“Mm.”
Qiao Nian understood him well. She responded lazily and pressed the remote control to a variety show. Then, she placed the remote control where he could reach it. Then, she dragged a chair over and sat by his side.
The girl didn’t initiate a conversation.
Jiang Li didn’t dare to move. He kept glancing at the girl beside him nervously. “Nian-Nian Nian, why are you here?”
Didn’t he tell his manager to find a way to keep the news quiet?
Qiao Nian shouldn’t know.
Jiang Zongjin and Ye Wangchuan entered as soon as he finished speaking.
It wasn’t strange for Ye Wangchuan to follow Qiao Nian.
Jiang Li was mainly looking at Jiang Zongjin.
He understood everything as soon as Jiang Zongjin entered. For a moment, he was a little depressed. With a bitter face, he was about to cry. “Uncle, why did you tell Nian Nian? I said not to tell her so that she wouldn’t worry.”
Jiang Zongjin touched the bridge of his nose awkwardly. “…You didn’t tell me not to tell Nian Nian.”
So he did.
Jiang Li was rendered speechless by his genius logic and couldn’t find a retort.
Qiao Nian ignored them.
She had been reading Jiang Li’s medical report since she came into the ward and dragged a chair for herself.
She read things quickly.
Her eyes glanced past 10 lines at once.
Now she had a rough idea of his injuries.
She put the case report back. With her eyes half-closed, she couldn’t read his emotions. “Who did this?” she asked rather irritably.
“Huh?”
Jiang Li was dumbfounded by the question. He first looked at Qiao Nian, then subconsciously looked in Ye Wangchuan’s direction.
Ye Wangchuan shrugged and gestured for him to answer honestly.
He turned his head back again in silence. “I don’t know,” he told her sickly.
Qiao Nian raised her eyebrows and glanced at him again. She changed her words. “Do you have any enemies in the circle who want to mess with you?”
Jiang Li felt that he had embarrassed himself this time. He was too embarrassed to look Qiao Nian in the eye. He shook his head and said shamelessly, “I think I’m quite popular. No one in the circle hates me so much.
“The most they’ll do is buy some of the hot searches to spread my scandal and pay a few marketing accounts to set the pace. They won’t do anything illegal.”
