Chapter 2857 - 2866: Don’t Even Think About It
Chapter 2857: Chapter 2866: Don’t Even Think About It
Adam Sinclair looked at Olivia Lewis, her face pale but smiling brightly. For some reason, his emotions, which had been fluctuating these past few days, were magically soothed. He bent down and gently placed Olivia’s hands back under the blanket, his voice low and melodious, "I believe in you."
"Whatever you believe, I believe too."
That flirting line was too lethal!
Sunny instantly felt that her presence was redundant. She should have left quickly earlier instead of staying back for this torture.
Olivia, blushing from his teasing, turned her gaze away. From the corner of her eye, she noticed Sunny standing there as if she were nailed to the floor, coughed softly, and glared at someone. She then shifted to the main topic, "Sister Sunny, I’d like to take that interview you mentioned."
Sunny’s eyes widened, refusing without a second thought, "No way! How can you take it with your current health condition?"
"..." Olivia thought it was just a shot to her shoulder, why did everyone treat her like she was gravely injured and about to die with their attitude?
Seeing Olivia’s haggard look, Sunny’s heart softened, but her stance remained firm, "I know you want to work, and you like that movie. But you’ve just had surgery and only just woke up. I absolutely won’t allow you to take that interview, don’t even think about it."
She figured a compromise, "If you’re really worried about the movie, I’ll call Lydia Bell’s manager to check her schedule, and if she’s available, I’ll let her handle it."
"Uh..." Olivia looked at her in confusion, not quite understanding why she would proactively suggest Lydia Bell.
Was Sunny trying to lend a hand?
"Lydia helped you." Sunny rolled her eyes dramatically, "After you played hero and rescued the damsel, the press conference was a mess. Lydia was the first to react, asking Jeremy Payne to call the police, and she’s the one who called your ambulance. Initially, I didn’t like her much. She’s a newbie, arrogant because of her background, disrespectful towards elders, poor acting skills, prideful, ambitious..."
Her tone shifted, "But, seeing as she called the ambulance for you this once, I’ve decided to reconsider my opinion of her. I heard she nabbed the second female lead in ’Time Knows’, swapping out another opportunity in a costume idol drama. Who knows what got into her, but it looks to me like she took the role just for you? What did you do to her?"
"Does lecturing her once count? You were there that day too. I just said a few words, who knows what got into her." Olivia blinked her enchanting fox-like eyes, "She’s actually not bad, just a young girl. Coming straight out of school into the entertainment industry, with everyone praising her as she’s naturally pretty, it’s normal for her to be a little conceited."
Sunny glanced at her, helplessly saying, "True, in this circle, it’s rare to find someone who has resources and insists on being as stubborn as you."
Olivia had always been the strikingly beautiful type, even in the entertainment industry amidst a slew of female stars, she remained the focal point of the camera.
It took her years to make it to the top-tier level purely because she was too headstrong.
Dinner meetings were fine, but sleeping with someone was absolutely out of the question!
Besides, she was smart and could hold her liquor, relying solely on these two strengths all these years, she hadn’t been taken advantage of.
"Anyway, since she helped you, I’ll repay her with some work resources. Whether she can seize the opportunity is her problem. Don’t think about working before you’ve recovered!" Sunny glanced at her leisurely, issuing a chilling warning.
