Just as the atmosphere in the small conference room was getting good, an uninvited guest barged in, abruptly disrupting the pleasant vibe.
"Olivia Lewis, come out!" Lena stormed in aggressively, her face twisted with fury, shouting at a group of people, startling everyone.
Olivia Lewis frowned slightly and stepped out from the crowd, "What’s the matter?"
Seeing her, Lena’s glare became even more fierce, her expression as if she wanted to eat someone alive, "Come out!"
After all, she’s not an idiot!
Olivia rolled her eyes, remained standing where she was, crossing her arms in front of her chest, and said impatiently, "Why should I listen to you? If you have something to say, say it. If not, so be it!"
Lena was so infuriated by her words that her nose was almost crooked. In a rage, she pushed aside the manager who came along to calm her, pointed at Olivia’s nose, and unleashed a tirade, "You know what I’m here for. Did you release the news online? Do you have any shame? If you’ve got the guts, come at me directly. What’s the deal with stabbing me in the back?"
"News?" Olivia thought for a moment, then recalled that Lena had been in a tough spot the past couple of days, and once she understood what Lena was talking about, Olivia said coldly, "The news online has nothing to do with me, I didn’t release it. I had no idea you were being kept by someone."
Lena had indeed been caught red-handed this time, with paparazzi snapping her publicly kissing a married man in a car.
Moreover, before the news was released, she didn’t hear a peep about it. She only found out she’d been photographed after the news came out.
Normally, in the entertainment industry, when paparazzi catch big news about an artist, they release some leaks first, giving the artist a chance to pay to smooth things over.
But this time, there was no advance leak at all, clearly indicating someone wanted to take her down from behind the scenes. What’s worse, the wife of the man she was involved with also kicked up a fuss, and when confronted by reporters, directly accused her of being a mistress.
Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, and her career on the brink of collapse, Lena, furious to the core, decided to track down the orchestrator behind it all.
Upon investigation, she indeed found the culprit.
"Oh, unrelated? You dare say Turner isn’t your man? It was him who found the paparazzi to shoot me, and you still dare to say it has nothing to do with you!"
Olivia had no idea how one of her studio’s employees got involved in this; she still tried to explain patiently, "I’ve been on break recently, not much in touch with my studio people, usually only my manager. The person you’re talking about is indeed from my studio, but I’m not clear on what they did. Even if I were to do something, I wouldn’t blatantly involve someone from my own studio. Besides, there’s no work resource competition between us, why would I target you?"
When Lena found out Olivia was behind it, she also thought it seemed out of place.
Olivia hadn’t been working these past few months and wasn’t in any work resource competition with her, so there was no reason to target her. However, since the person she traced back to was from Olivia’s studio, despite not understanding why Olivia suddenly turned on her, Lena still couldn’t suppress her anger and came looking for payback, "Hmph, if I fall, doesn’t that mean there’s one less person competing with you for company resources?"
Olivia really wanted to tell her that she had long planned to terminate her contract with the company and wasn’t competing for company resources at all.
