Chapter 2564 - 2573: Adam Sinclair Is Too Ruthless
Chapter 2564: Chapter 2573: Adam Sinclair Is Too Ruthless
Adam Sinclair bent down to pick up the glass on the coffee table. The rose bloomed beautifully in the transparent cup. He elegantly took a couple of sips and then put it down. He loosened his tie and suddenly said, "I’m going to sleep in your room for a while."
Olivia Lewis was just about to tidy up the medicine box on the coffee table when she heard this; her hand trembled, and the medicine box was toppled.
She hurriedly picked things up and refused awkwardly, "My room is very messy, and I haven’t cleaned it. Why don’t you just sleep on the sofa instead?"
"Your sofa is too short; I can’t stretch my legs." Adam’s reason was impeccable.
Olivia put away the medicine box, eyeing his long legs and her small sofa and had to admit that her little sofa really couldn’t accommodate someone’s long legs.
Even so, she didn’t dare let him in.
What a joke, August Oliver was still inside.
She couldn’t possibly let August and Adam lie on the same bed!
"Why don’t you go back and sleep? Your sofa is big, and the bed is softer," Olivia was really at her wit’s end, thinking it over and over and could only use this excuse, "The dog you own has been alone at home for two or three days. If you don’t go back to feed it, it might starve."
"There are servants at home to take care of it. It won’t starve." Adam squinted his eyes, suddenly looking at her, "Why don’t you let me sleep here, are you hiding someone in your room?"
He hit the nail on the head!
Olivia’s heartbeat accelerated, she forced a smile, "How is that possible?"
Just then, a loud rattling sound came from the bedroom, exposing her completely.
She made a dying struggle to explain, "Uh, maybe a stray cat knocked over a flower pot. There are too many stray cats these days. Since spring came, they often do things like this."
"Flush..." The sound of a toilet flushing.
Adam narrowed his aristocratic eyes, lightly touching his thin lips, and asked her, "Do the stray cats in your neighborhood know how to use the toilet?"
Olivia couldn’t even fake a smile, her mouth twitched, deciding to talk nonsense, "Uh, have you watched foreign blockbusters? Speaking of which, you won’t believe it, but I’ve always suspected that alien life forms truly exist. Whether cats can use the toilet, well, it depends on the breed."
Adam was amused by her, "You mean, the stray cats at your place are of alien breed?"
His gaze was so sharp it pierced through her lie completely. She also realized that her made-up excuse was too far-fetched, and unless Adam wasn’t right in the mind, he wouldn’t believe her nonsense. Clearly, Adam’s mind was intact and didn’t believe her at all. Continuing to struggle like this would only make it worse when her lie was exposed.
She weighed the pros and cons in her mind and decisively chose to confess, "In my room... is a person."
"It’s not an alien breed cat?" Adam knew there was something she was hiding today, but the truth was beyond his imagination. He almost wanted to check if his hair had turned green. After all, it wasn’t unheard of for her to ditch him thrice, so him turning green was entirely possible. "In your room, it’s not just a person; it’s a man, isn’t it?"
If it were a woman, she wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to hide it and prevent him from discovering it.
Adam’s handsome face turned dark, his expression grim as if a storm were brewing. But he was like a smiling tiger, even with such an ugly face, his thin lips were still curved in a smile. That smile, where others sought money, he sought life!
