Chapter 2423 - 2432: I’m Not Going to Be a Third Wheel
Chapter 2423: Chapter 2432: I’m Not Going to Be a Third Wheel
He put the phone to his ear, "Hello."
"Going for Pineapple Rice? You mean the one by my school’s gate?" Bobby quickly sensed something, "Dubious Man won’t be there, will he?"
It’s unclear what was said on the other end, but he pouted, looking unhappy, and said to the person on the other end, "Then I’m not going. I’d just be a third wheel anyway. Dubious Man doesn’t want me to go either, he’d just give me the cold shoulder if I do."
He paused and continued, "Woman, I’m really not coming over, I’ve got things to do. Have a nice date with Dubious Man, I’ll be back later."
"Where are you going?" Enna’s concerned voice came from the other end.
His cool, handsome face relaxed a bit, his starry eyes revealing a hint of mischief, "I’m going out to handle something important. Once I’ve sorted it out, I’ll come back and tell you."
Not waiting for Enna to speak, as if he could see through what she was about to say, he quickly added, "Don’t worry, I won’t go out alone, I’ll take Uncle Harris with me. Even if you ask now, I won’t tell you what I’m going to do. When you get back, I’ll tell you then."
Granduncle hasn’t met the orthopedic female doctor he and Grandma schemed to bring in yet. Once he sees her and things go well, he’ll tell Enna.
So Enna doesn’t get happy for nothing.
He could have not gone over, but he still wasn’t assured that Grandma and the little fool could handle it alone, so he decided to go in person to oversee everything for peace of mind.
After Tobias finished speaking, he checked the time on the wall in a good mood, then said to Enna, "Alright, woman, that’s it. See you when I get back."
"Bobby..."
Before she could finish her sentence, the call was already hung up.
"Hello..."
The phone beeped repeatedly, and Enna looked at her phone to find the call had ended. She helplessly held her phone and leaned back.
The tall, handsome man was waiting for her, and as she came over, he immediately possessively grabbed her left hand, holding it firmly in his own, and asked in a deep voice, "How did it go?"
Enna looked up at him, shook her head, and said, "He’s not coming. Bobby said he’s got something to do, he’ll take Mr. Harris with him and come back later."
"I asked him what it was, but he wouldn’t tell me. He just said he’d tell me when I get back. I don’t know why, but I’m a little worried..."
Baron Lawrence, unfazed, tightened his grip on her hand, his rose-colored lips touching hers lightly, "Nothing to worry about. He’s a man. Besides, Scott Harris is with him, nothing will happen."
Enna, too, felt there wouldn’t be any issues.
She knew Scott Harris’s capabilities better than anyone, and with Bobby’s clever mind, being in Country W, it seemed unlikely that anything would happen.
It was just that the previous incident in Mauritius had left her with a psychological shadow about going out alone, making her a bit more sensitive.
Understanding this, Enna’s expression softened a lot, and she nodded, giving a soft "Mm."
"Let’s go, have some Pineapple Rice." Baron Lawrence held her hand and they were already outside the cinema, by the car. He stopped, turned Enna around, his eagle eyes locking onto her, and after a moment, furrowed his brows and said, "If you’re really worried, I can have Scott Harris watch him, not let him go out."
Enna had already come to terms with it, considered for a moment, and then refused, "No need. You said it yourself, Bobby’s a boy, and with Mr. Harris following, it should be fine. Let him go."
She opened the car door first, feeling more at ease now, "Let’s go, we’ll head to the food street, I’ll guide you."
