Chapter 2752: Finding a Way out of Danger
When they saw the spider above them, the crowd was initially startled, but they weren’t too frightened. The guests who had joined this expedition were experts from the Myriad Worlds, wielding skills surpassing their peers. They had encountered all kinds of monsters before.
It was creepy to see Divine Calculator being controlled by the spiderwebs, but it wasn't beyond what they had already seen before. Besides, the spider had caught Divine Calculator off guard, so it wasn't too surprising for its ambush to have succeeded.
It was only when Isabella fired that bullet at the spider that the crowd realized they had underestimated their enemy. It turned out that the spider had been asleep, and it had killed Divine Calculator out of sheer instinct.
Now that it was awake, the pressure it emanated was cataclysmic.
These guests would still consider putting up a fight against the ex-Death Envoy Alati, but they couldn’t muster the courage to fight this spider. Just looking at it made their souls tremble. Thus, those who remained turned tail and fled. No matter how powerful the Universal Conglomerate and the Acadias were, those groups couldn’t be more important than their lives.
Their abrupt movements alarmed the spider, however. They were quickly bound by threads, and the more they struggled, the tighter the threads became. They screamed in horror, “Save me!”
But no one had the spare capacity to save anyone right now.
Zu An was desperately trying to avoid the transparent threads flying around. If not for the predictions from the Book, he would have been caught by spider threads by now.
Isabella wanted to pull out other weapons from her bag, but the spider above had already recognized her as the one who had fired at it earlier. Its chelicerae[1] fell down upon her from the sky. In that instant, she looked like an ant facing a giant’s fist. She froze in place, gripped by extreme fear that rendered her incapable of reacting.
Zu An used the Taotie’s Heaven-Devouring Sutra to pull her over to his side, but the chelicerae followed her as if they had already locked onto her. At this moment, he understood why Isabella had stopped moving earlier. It felt as if the entire world was crushing him, sealing off his vitality, stamina, blood, and heartbeat. The only thing that could function was his mind.
But such a state would only plunge one further into despair.
Just then, Yani hurled her fist at the chelicerae with a roar. It was a fist that could tear even space, but the chelicerae only shook a little.
Fortunately, this disturbance was enough for Zu An to regain his mobility. He quickly retreated with Isabella via instantaneous movement.
Yani hurled her fist once more to strike the spider directly, but her arm got caught in the transparent webs instead. She was temporarily stuck in place, during which the spider wrapped her limbs with more spider threads. Soon, she couldn’t budge anymore.
“Brother, please escape with our big miss!” Alfred struggled with all his might, but he couldn’t break free of his restraints. He was wrapped in a thick cocoon and shouted his final words before being fully sealed.
The other guests were already wrapped so tightly that they couldn’t let out any noise.
“Uncle Alfred!” Tears streamed down Isabella’s face. She'd thought that given their strength and the treasures they had on hand, this trip would just be another interesting experience. She hadn't thought they would encounter such a powerful monster that would cost Alfred his life.
Zu An grabbed her hand and fled. Isabella exclaimed, “Big sister Yani is still there...”
Zu An turned around and saw Yani struggling in the spiderweb. “We can’t save her now. If we don’t run now, all of us will die.”
Isabella bit her lip, knowing they couldn’t do aynthing to save the others. She whipped out a few items from her bag to construct layers of barriers against the spider.
But the spider’s chelicerae continued to reach directly toward her. Isabella’s array of defensive artifacts were top-notch, but the chelicerae pierced through them like hot knife slicing through butter.
Isabella felt the same despair she'd experienced earlier. Her body froze in place. She desperately wanted to escape but was unable to do so. She couldn’t even close her eyes out of fear.
However, Zu An was still able to move.
A beautiful river reflecting countless civilizations suddenly appeared behind them, standing in the way of the chelicerae thrusting toward them. The chelicerae struck the river, but were unable to pierce through it. A light, fleeting hum echoed—it didn’t sound human.
Zu An made use of this opportunity to escape with Isabella.
The spider was infuriated, but its chelicerae were stuck in that bizarre river. It could only roar angrily. Just then, however, the hair on its chelicerae fell onto the ground and transformed into countless smaller spiders that frenziedly chased the duo.
“Big brother Zu, what’s that ability? How did you stop that monster?” Isabella was awed.
Zu An was surprised as well. That had been the Annals of History, one of the two abilities he had received from Deity of Memory Meng not too long ago. It allowed him to use the river of history to block an enemy’s fatal attack. If not for that, they would have been in danger.
He was about to answer that question when Isabella suddenly yelped. Her torchlight had revealed countless small spiders chasing after them. Thus, Zu An quickly lifted Isabella up and escaped via Rainbow Morph.
But somehow, the small spiders persistently followed him no matter how he flitted around. He couldn’t shake them off no matter how he tried.
Just then, a voice echoed from the shadows, “Head in my direction!”
Hearing a feminine voice in an empty, dark space sent shivers down Isabella’s spine. Is it a ghost? But on second thought, the spider was far more terrifying than any ghost.
Even so, Zu An didn’t hesitate to run toward the voice.
An arm suddenly emerged from the darkness and dragged him in. The shadows rippled as if they were passing through a spatial passageway. After they passed through, the ripples vanished, and the shadow melded into the surrounding darkness.
Dozens of spiders scuttled over and combed the surroundings, but they could no longer sense their target’s aura.
Meanwhile, Zu An and Isabella found themselves in a cave that had a high ceiling over fifty meters high. They sensed a presence with them and switched on the torchlight.
The third party stared intently at Isabella and Zu An’s linked arms and remarked, “You’re a heartless man. It hasn’t even been that long, but you've already gotten together with another woman.”
Isabella hurriedly retracted her hand, and her face flushed red.
Zu An stared at the other party and huffed, “I need an explanation.”
The person before him was none other than Firework.

Translator Thought:
The Book (The Book of Prophecies) existed in history, too.
Lu Sheng was an official tasked by Qin Shihuang (Ying Zheng) to find the elixir of immortality, but he failed. So, he created the Book of Prophecies and presented it to Qin Shihuang, saying that it had come from beyond the seas and possessed mystical powers.
