Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1914: The Earth Emperor Descend

Wang Wei immediately looked toward the sky, and, as expected, he saw a man with crimson hair, dark-gold armor, and a natural, flirtatious smile at the corner of his mouth, looking at him. An army of soldiers dressed in silver stood behind him, releasing a terrifying aura, but none of that mattered to Wang Wei.

"Hahaha, I can't believe you would be the one who saved my ass."

"Fate is unpredictable, isn't it?" Li Jun smiled.

"Indeed, it is," Wang Wei sighed.

"We'll catch up later. Let me first clean up this mess."

Under Li Jun's order, the soldiers behind immediately began cleaning up the endless zombies. Wang Wei was surprised as he watched them, not because their powers seemed to be the antithesis of the undead but also because there were more than half a dozen Saints under Li Jun's command. His shock was how powerful this army was. He had seen his fair share of elite legions — including from the Infinite Divine Court — but none of them came close to these silver-clad soldiers.

The soldiers soon cleaned up the entire timeline; then, the Saints soldiers worked together to search for Future Reverence's location. Once they found him, they worked together with Li Jun to seal the obsession spirit. Finally, the Crimson Slaughter Emperor had the time for a reunion.

"Thanks," Wang Wei nodded as he received the healing pill from Li Jun; he swallowed his before distributing the rest to the others. "So, can you tell me what's going on? It's fine if you can't."

"It's not that big of a secret," Li Jun said. "This event was even more grand than you thought. The Beyonder launched a full-scale invasion of the [Prime Source], forcing Grand Dao to go all out to defend it. I was stationed in that battlefield for many years until my superior — your grandmother — commanded me to come to this timeline to deal with the aftermath."

Wang Wei suddenly squinted, "Has Grand Dao always been aware of everything that was happening in this place?"

"I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did."

Wang Wei nodded, but he did not ask any further. Instead, he wanted to know about Li Jun, "How have you been?" With one glance, he could tell the latter was now a peak Primal with three Saint Foundations, a Saint Will Prototype, and an Ancestral Soul.

"As much as I would like to catch up with you, I can't stay for long," Li Jun sighed. "My orders were to swiftly clean up this mess before returning to the battlefield."

"That's a shame," Wang Wei replied, not hiding his reluctance. How long has it been since they last saw each other? It's been countless yuan epochs, and he has truly missed his best friend. And after what he had experienced, there was no one better to talk with.

Li Jun patted his shoulder and smiled, "I should return home once this war ends. The day I return, I'll drink you until you're poor."

"Promise?"

"Promise," Li Jun nodded. The two hugged it out for a few seconds before separating.

"By the way, Liling and Xing'er are fine, right?"

"Liling is fine, but Xingwei —"

"What's wrong with him?"

"Relax, he just had to experience reincarnation."

"Why? Did something go wrong with his cultivation?"

"So, you did notice?" Wang Wei said before explaining his nephew's situation.

"I thought it was only admiration and he would eventually find his own way. I didn't expect the problem to be so deep," Li Jun sighed.

"By now, he should be fine," Wang Wei reassured. Rebuilding a foundation through reincarnation can be easy or challenging — it all depends on the individual. Li Xingwei was an exceptional individual, so he should be fine.

"That's good to hear," Li Jun nodded. "Well, I'm leaving. Tell Ling'er that I miss her terribly."

"No problem. And tell grandmother that I miss her."

Li Jun nodded before turning to the duchess and addressing everybody. "One more thing: I was ordered to tell you that Grand Dao has remembered your service. You will be repaid after the New Age has been established."

"Why wait that long?" the Erudite Duchess frowned.

"I don't know exactly, but it probably has to do with the chances that will occur once the New Age begins."

"Changes?"

"That's all I can say," Li Jun replied.

"Thanks for the info," Wang Wei nodded. Everybody then watched Li Jun and this terrifying army depart from the world.

"What kind of changes do you think he was talking about?" Maitreya asked.

"I don't know, but my gut feeling tells me it's not something good," Wang Wei shook his head.

"The Transcendent Age is supposed to be a time of prosperity. Why do you think it will be a negative change?"

"It's just a feeling," Wang Wei replied, though that wasn't entirely true. Ever since he heard about the Nether Emperor Position, he had decided how rigid the Transcendent Age would be. However, those were just theories with a rather weak foundation. That's why he had only shared them with his wife and the ancestors.

The duchess glanced at him. From what she knows about him, he must have something for the basis of this feeling. However, since he didn't share, it also meant he was too confident, so she did not pry.

"Do you remember what I asked you before?" Wang Wei suddenly said.

"Oh, right." The duchess immediately spread her divine sense and used other detection spells. "Found them." The hidden dimension of these Tribunal Lords had suffered minor to medium destruction, but the majority of the contents remained. The duchess scooped everything before dividing the loot: she took 30%, gave Maitreya 10%, and handed the rest to Wang Wei.

"Why are you giving me most of it?"

"You deserve it," she replied before casually erasing Saint Ink and the scholar's mind, preventing them from remembering that part of the event; the worst part is, they didn't even notice their minds had been wiped.

"Well, I'm not one to refuse something that's handed to me," Wang Wei nodded. "Alright, let's leave this hellhole."

"Wait, Lord Maitreya, can I have a word?"

Everybody turned their eyes to the Incorruptible Scholar.

"Can I help you with something?"

"I made a promise with Emperor Kong to join his academy after the new age, but now that he's gone, I would like your permission to descend into the Eternal Ascension World and protect his legacy."

Maitreya frowned, "What proof do you have?"

The scholar showed him a token, and it was indeed Kong's. Wang Wei subtly glanced at the duchess, and she said through divine sense. "As far as I can tell, he's not lying." He nodded before relaying the information to Maitreya.

"What do you think?"

"Wasn't it the plan to lure foreign saints to aid us in this war?" Wang Wei replied. "We can accept him, but not now."

"Why the delay?"

"We must seal the lower dimension and hide it for as long as possible."

"I almost forgot about that," Maitreya replied. No one can know that the lower dimension's Heaven Emperor Era can help people condense their Dao Quintessence Prototype. Otherwise, all these foreign powers will immediately invade the Eternal Ascension World and forcefully occupy it.

Maitreya conveyed her intent to the scholar, and everybody finally left. Wang Wei's group was the last, since all the remaining survivors had already run away before Li Jun left. The duchess opened a pathway back to the Primordial Timeline to prevent everybody else — mainly Wang Wei — from being lost in the Boundless Realm, or worse, the Infinite Trichiliocosm.

As soon as Wang Wei returned to his timeline, he took a deep breath, even though there was no air in Primordial Chaos. "Home sweet ho —" His words hadn't finished when he sensed countless terrifying stares. Many of these people were aggressive, even hostile, and they didn't hide. The duchess protected everybody from most of it, but there were a few she was powerless against.

"What's going on?" Maitreya asked.

"Many of the people who died in that expedition had powerful backers," the duchess sighed. "And those backers want answers."

"But no one could have predicted things to turn out like this."

"Let's hope they see it that way," Wang Wei muttered.

The waiting was uncomfortable to say the least. Everybody had their past and present scanned, invading their privacy to the highest level. The duchess communicated with a few individuals, explaining the situation. Five minutes later, a terrifying snort spread to every corner of the timeline, even shaking it slightly.

"Is it resolved?" Wang Wei asked.

"For now, yes."

"For now?"

"Some people have lost their favorite descendant, so we don't know whether they'll react emotionally or not."

"Trinity Venerable?" Wang Wei asked.

"Well, he's technically the one who's primarily responsible for most of their deaths."

"Can I expect his death any time soon?" Wang Wei asked excitedly.

"It's hard to say," the duchess shook her head. Trinity Venerable was one of the most powerful Second-Step Powerhouses, so most people cannot do anything to him. And if the puppet master behind him values Trinity Venerable enough, they might smooth out his crime with the other Grand Dao Saints.

"That's unfortunate," Wang Wei sighed.
