Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1867: The Chaos Has Begun

Chapter 1867: The Chaos Has Begun

Wang Wei calmly observed the entire situation while the Erudite Duchess fed him information. After understanding why the Infinite Divine Court was so outraged, he had figured out Death Reverence’s tactical move, which instantly eliminated all of the Highest Sovereign’s effort to influence this timeline.

"Why did their plan so utterly fail?" Wang Wei talked to himself. "Death Reverence showed no hesitation; he completely ignored the threat of the [Sword–Saber Source Dao], almost as if he knew it was not a threat. Can he see through truth and falsehood? Or does he have prior knowledge of this source?"

The truth was crucial to Wag Wei. If it’s the former, then that’s one more ability to watch out for. Wang Wei would prefer the latter, since it only showed Death Reverence’s extensive knowledge and information-gathering capabilities, which are still a threat but not ones that can be used directly in battle.

"Ai, I’m giving you another task: find the prince," Wang Wei suddenly said, and the spirit slowly materialized next to him.

"Sir, you think he’s still alive?"

"Even if he’s a vessel, he still belongs to a third-step powerhouse and is a direct blood descendant at that. There is no way he would die so easily," Wang Wei calmly stated.

"That may be true, but how are we supposed to find him with so little information?" Ai asked. "And as you stated, he’s the vessel of a third-step powerhouse; his ability to hide himself is probably unmatched."

"Use this," Wang Wei replied, sending her a token. Ai raised her hand, and the item slowly floated into her palm. The material was pure gold jade, and the characters for [Divine] and [Highest] were carved in the front and back.

"The token Hongjun gave you? Are you sure it’s wise to use it in such a manner?"

"The court will not trust me, and I don’t trust them. Instead of relying on some possible promise, it’s best to use the causality connected to the token to find the prince," Wang Wei explained.

"Fine, but you should understand that even with this token, the chances of finding the prince are slim."

"If that doesn’t work, send Kong on a mission to find him. His luck should be of use."

"Very well." Ai left the room, heading to the Divination Room. Now that they had fused, her actions could be considered multitasking, but she still retained many of her independent abilities. Wang Wei briefly glanced at her before focusing on the battlefield; he exhaled deeply before contacting the Duchess.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

"As ready as all I ever be."

"Good. In that case, let’s start."

Bang!

The dark beam of death, visible anywhere in the universe, began to fluctuate wildly. Luckily, most life in the universe was already dead, or another catastrophe would have spread throughout this timeline. However, such a sudden change alarmed many people.

"Damn it, you annoying ants," a voice colder than death itself spread throughout the timeline. Luckily for everybody, Future Reverence only spoke and did not show himself. Instead, he teleported directly to the Six Paths Samsara. The situation was terrible, and that was an understatement. Three of the Six Paths had collapsed, while these tiny, invisible arrays were attacking the rest.

He waved his hand to eliminate these arrays, but another force protected most of them. The worst part was that this unknown force was rapidly absorbing the leaked energy from the three destroyed paths. Future Reverence roared.

"Suiji, you’d better stop, or I’ll slaughter every member of your Divine Court."

However, no one answered him, which prompted Future Reverence to snort coldly. A humongous hand suddenly reached out to capture the Heavenly Wolf Khan and instantly squeezed him to death. The latter desperately tried to resist with his True Saint Artifact and even the power of the Reverse Black Stone Array, but in front of that hand, he was weaker than a toddler fighting a six-foot-tall muscular man.

"Hmm? Not dead?" Future Reverence thought as he realized the Khan had revived himself in the array. After a quick scan, his eyes turned to the Nine Spirit Lion Saint: five of the lion heads had suddenly died, and Future Reverence understood the complete picture. The Yin-Yang Origin Dragon linked the lives of these Tribunal Lords together. Once one of them dies, the Nine Spirit Lion Saint — whose racial divine ability is his nine lives — will activate his bloodline ability and pay the price for their death instead.

"Since you want to sacrifice yourself so much, then, I’ll choose you." Before the others could react, the Lion Saint disappeared, teleported to the Six Paths Samsara; he had turned into a tiny creature trapped inside a transparent cube in Future Reverence’s palm.

"Suiji, stop this nonsense, or this dragon will die a horrible death."

Unfortunately, the wails of suffering souls answered him, followed by the eeriness of all the Yin and Death Energy in the surrounding, and the carnage of all the sinful souls who had escaped their eternal torture due to the chaos and destruction.

"Silence," Future Reverence roared. The Ruler of Death has spoken, and no one dares question his orders, not that they could in the first place. With that simple command, everything paused — even death itself. With this one word, death, which was supposed to be absolute, bowed down to a higher power.

"Suiji, this is the last chance I will give you."

"Hahaha."

"Stupid lion, what are you laughing about?"

"Stupid? You’re the stupid one if you think you can threaten her life with ours," the Nine Spirit Lion Saint chuckled. "So what if you killed me? I have died in service of the Divine Court, which means I’m eligible to be revived by the Highest Sovereign."

Future Reverence coldly stared at him, "My master is the Deathbringer, and you think a weak third-step powerhouse can bring you back to life after I grant you eternal slumber? This has to be the biggest joke I’ve heard in my life."

The Nine Spirit Lion Saint suddenly paused, his eyes widened. However, soon afterward, he laughed maniacally. "Where there is a will, there is a way. And so what if I cannot be revived? My family will receive endless blessings and honor. His majesty will spare no effort to raise another second-step powerhouse for the Nine Spirit Lion Clan, and I’m at peace with that."

Future Reverence frowned as he looked at this pitifully weak creature. In its eyes, he saw a different kind of reverence that he had for his Lord. Although it’s different, it’s still a firm and unshakable belief. Quietly putting a silent spell on the lion, he once again spread his voice:

"Last chance."

No one answered, and without hesitation, he crushed the lion. The powerful Demon Saint wasn’t dead, but he soon revived in the same spot with only one face still operating. "I think by now, you can see the extent of my determination."

Bang! A terrifying vision spread throughout Heaven and Earth, signaling the death of a Saint.

"That’s just the first. Next, I’ll kill them one by..." Future Reverence stopped himself as he realized his opponent had no intention of revealing themselves. On the contrary, she used this opportunity to siphon a great deal of power from the construct, while also increasing her overall authority. The worst part is that she used those tiny array viruses to do her bidding. Without hesitation, Future Reverence focused all his strength on stopping the collapse of this Grand Construct and regaining as much power as possible.

...

"This is my chance," the Heaven Cardinal thought after seeing the death of a Tribunal Lord, and the occupied Future Reverence. Without saying anything, he suddenly disappeared from the battlefield, leaving Trinity Venerable and the others even more vulnerable.

Finally, Trinity Venerable, Slaughter Ancestor, Karma Root Monarch, the Primordial Heaven Sword Saint, and the Erudite Duchess battled Star Manifestation, the Myriad Gourd Empress, and the Yin-Yang Origin Dragon. The expeditioners still have the number advantage, but for how long? The answer is not long.

The Erudite Duchess, after observing that Death Reverence would not participate in this battle — probably because of his lack of strength and the fact that his bodyguard was occupied — immediately rushed back to her headquarters.

"Fu Liangyu, don’t forget your contract," the Karma Root Monarch yelled.

"I’m not breaking the contract. I’m rushing to save the expeditioners," the Erudite Duchess explained. The others quickly checked the situation and almost vomited blood. Their headquarters was indeed being attacked, but anyone could tell that Wang Wei — who controlled a third of the Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array — had manufactured this emergency as a pretense to bypass the duchess’s contract.

"No, you don’t," Trinity Venerable cursed, preparing to intercept the duchess. Unfortunately for him, someone else had intervened as well, which worsened the already chaotic situation.

"Now is the time. Go all out," the Heavenly Wolf Khan roared after rejoining the battlefield. They pushed themselves to the limit, focusing their attacks on the Karma Root Monarch.

"Oh, no, they want to capture me," she figured out; the court’s plan has always been her.
