Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1865: "The Rescue."

Chapter 1865: "The Rescue."

Wang Wei and the Erudite Duchess discussed their plan and finalized everything. Then, the avatar took the causality crystal along with all the information the duchess had gathered from Trinity Venerable’s drop of blood and exited the premises. Wang Wei’s true body immediately synchronized the avatar’s memories after it returned before properly cleaning it up. With the resources from the Heaven Splitting Holy Land, building another one only requires some time.

Soon afterward, a subtle atmosphere enveloped Timeline NP89076H. Everybody knew this was the silence before the storm, but for the few surviving individuals of this universe, this quiet was everything they could ask for. Their existence might seem insignificant; they might be seen as nothing but renewable resources in the eyes of some almighty beings, but the only thing they want is to live. That’s all they desire, but even such a basic wish was not granted to them. Despite this cruel truth, these people appreciated the brief period of peace.

Inside his cultivation room, Wang Wei floated cross-legged in the air with two scrolls also hovering in front of them. The scrolls were releasing intense Dao Rhymes that only Saints should be able to display. Unknowingly, a smile crept on the corner of his mouth, and it was deserved. After a few Yuan Epochs, with Ai’s help, he not only finished both his Soul Quintessence and Fourth Gate Method, but he has even perfected them to the limit.

"Now, I only need to create the so-called Quasi-Saint Realm, survive the two Time Nexuses, and then, I can immediately sanctify," Wang Wei thought. His path ahead was still long and arduous, but he was slowly approaching one of the tipping points: Sainthood.

Wang Wei flickered his wrist, and the two Saint Methods disappeared. His gaze then penetrated the array, glancing directly at the secrets of fate. He could tell the chaos was coming soon, but unfortunately, all his attempts at divining an exact timeline have failed; he couldn’t even deduce a rough time span, just the feeling that it would happen soon.

"Too many powerful people involved, and most of them are probably using different methods of hiding the secrets of Heaven and Earth," Wang Wei pondered while shaking his head. Since there was still some time, he decided to use it wisely. Only one trait — the Saint Embryo — was missing before he could be considered a Quasi- Saint. Instead of wasting time worrying, he chose to be productive by cultivating.

Sadly for Wang Wei, less than fifty thousand years had passed before something occurred. The entire timeline trembled, and the tremors were so intense that even the few mortal survivors — who were all inside the two formations — felt their effects. All the Immortal Cultivators and above searched for the source, and what they found shocked many people.

Two massive divine weapons suddenly manifested out of nowhere: a pure white sword with gold patterns, and a vantablack saber with dark-gold symbols. Their presence immediately towered above Heaven and Earth, and many even felt these two weapons seemed also to be suppressing the [Dao] itself — not just one law, but all Daos.

"The Sword-Saber Source Dao," Wang Wei pondered while clicking his tongue; it was just a projection, and it had such a terrifying aura, so how terrifying was the real thing? According to Wang Wei’s theory, the creator or creators of this Dao Source or Grand Construct were probably a competitor to the Bi Clan Ancestor: the Essence Transcendent.

"They lived in the same era, yet, in the end, one of them transcended while the other one had to leave behind their Dao for someone to inherit, or maybe plotting their return. Is this an indication of the Ancestor Bi’s power? Or was he just good at cultivating, but his fighting strength wasn’t necessarily the best?" Wang Wei analyzed. Either one was possible, and there is a line of thinking to follow.

Why did Sword and Saber Dao acquire so much destiny that they could weave their supremacy into the very fabric of the universe? Why are swordsmen known for having the highest attack potency and not body refiners? Grand Dao’s weakening of Body Refiners is one explanation, but why didn’t Grand Dao weaken the Sword and Saber Path?

"The current situation of body refiners is a result of Ancestor Bi’s incompetence or his indifference," Wang Wei sighed. For a moment, he felt bad for Grand Dao; she had successfully cultivated two transcendents, but there was no result. On the contrary, it only brought her endless trouble. The observer’s actions could be excused since their path seemed to be one of observation rather than interference. However, Ancestor Bi just took his family and loved ones, packed his stuff, and never returned. He didn’t even fix the damage he had caused.

Shaking his head to remove these thoughts from his mind, Wang Wei focused on the situation. The appearance of this Dao Source is the beginning of the chaos, and he needed to prepare. So, while keeping an eye on what was happening, he also exited his cultivation room to reunite with Ai. He initiated their fusion, entering the best state to deal with whatever is coming.

Death Reverence calmly watched the manifestation of these two weapons. His future self stood a few steps ahead of him, boldly displaying his terrifying aura; it was as if he wanted the world to know of his strength. Death Reverence was not the boasting kind, and so was his future self; his action was only for one reason: the Sword–Saber Source Dao. The moment this terrifying weapon materialized, it locked into those two.

The two Death Reverence glanced at each other, directly communicating through their eyes. Although they didn’t receive news of this attack before it happened, the moment they saw it, the two had the same plan. And one glance was enough to understand each other and be prepared. Future Reverence nodded before jumping into action. With a wave of his hands, he gathered a significant portion of death energy from the Death Beam to weave a terrifying black protective shield for the two of them.

"Now."

As soon as Trinity Venerable uttered those words, the Tribunal Lords and two Cardinals sprang into action. They did not waste any time, directly attacking the Reverse Black Stone Array’s node world with the captured expeditioners. The court tried to resist, but these Tribunal Lords were not playing around. For this attack, they not only used their True Saint Artifacts, but even someone such as Trinity Venerable used two out of three of the ego of his Battle Set.

A terrifying gaze glanced at them from the direction of the Death Beam, but luckily, it was just a gaze. The owner had its own concerns, which gave the expeditioners enough time to act. Meanwhile, after realizing the array would not hold for long, the court eventually decided on a defensive battle, which required them to engage the enemy, exactly what Trinity Venerable wanted. He still hadn’t given up on roping the court, and as soon as their Tribunal Saints appeared, he began negotiating with them through secret communication.

From the outside perspective, these two factions suddenly began an intense confrontation. However, the truth of the matter was that they were just negotiating intensely. The Erudite Duchess frowned. She sensed the hidden communication going on around her; after all, it was challenging to maintain such fighting intensity while hiding its traces. It also helped that she always kept her guard up against these people, and that they left her out of the conversation was further proof she had made the correct choice.

"The Primordial Heaven Sword Saint is not trustworthy," the Erudite Duchess analyzed. According to the plan discussed with Wang Wei, she conversed with him before forming an alliance. But, out of caution, she did not reveal their plans. Instead, she used the guise of worry and aiding each other, and the swordsman agreed to ally himself with her. Unfortunately, he didn’t even mention this secret conversation to the duchess.

"Noooo," Star Manifestation suddenly roared. Their actions caught everybody off guard, and it was to the point that the Slaughter Ancestor accidentally stabbed them with his spear, mildly injuring them.

"What happened?" The Heavenly Wolf Khan asked.

"This was a trap. These bastards didn’t want to negotiate at all," Star Manifestation screamed.

"Tell us what happened?" the Myriad Gourd Empress asked with a slightly raised voice.

"The protection I placed around Jiang Ye is broken. His Majesty’s vessel has disappeared," Star Manifestation said with gritted teeth.

"What?"

The others did not hesitate to teleport back to the array, immediately leaving the battlefield. Meanwhile, the Trinity Venerable had an ugly expression. As soon as he heard those words, he understood what had happened and activated the Void Breaking Talisman in the Dragon-Phoenix Rings, taking away the surviving expeditioners.

"Let’s retreat," he ordered.

"Bastards, where are you going?"

Before they could leave, a terrifying comet with the power of a trillion universes rushed toward Trinity Venerable and hit him directly. The latter easily blocked the attack.

"Listen to us, this is a misunderstanding. We have all been played."

"Where is Prince Jiang Ye?" Star Manifestation asked.

"We don’t know. We are not working with him."

"Do you think we’ll believe you?" the Myriad Gourd Empress sneered. The others nodded, glancing at the group with deep hatred in their eyes. Trinity Venerable turned to the Heavenly Wolf Khan, who was the more agreeable of the bunch during the previous negotiation. Unfortunately, the latter was quiet this time, and he understood the implication.
