Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1821: The Plundering Start (I)

Chapter 1821: The Plundering Start (I)

"I can’t reincarnate now. I still need to sanctify and revive my daughter," Lin Fan sighed.

"It’s up to you."

"What if I reincarnate after becoming a Primordial Chaos Saint?" Lin Fan asked. "What if I used my Saint Path as a purification flame to deal with the Dao corruption?"

"Technically speaking, becoming a Saint will intensify your problem," Hundunxi replied. "But yes, your approach might work, but only if you find the right method."

"What do you mean by the right method?"

"You’re dealing with the corruption from a Dao Quintessence, meaning you need a technique or resource of similar level — or at the very least, from a specific second-step powerhouse."

Lin Fan frowned, "Don’t you have a method that can help me?"

"My involvement will only intensify things," Hundunxi shook his head. "But since you want to use reincarnation, I recommend you ask my Toutaisa for help."

"Who is that?" Lin Fan asked. He had heard of most of the Chaos Demon Gods, but not this one.

"In the early stages of the prison, we experimented with different methods of escape, one of which was creating a third-step powerhouse on par with Pangu," Hundunxi explained. "One of our experiments was to combine our origins to create the ultimate warrior. Toutaisa was the result of one of the experiments.

"He’s technically the Reincarnation Chaos Demon God, created by my sisters Shenghuovi (Life) and Siwangji (Death)."

"Reincarnation? Then, he should be able to help with my situation," Lin Fan asked, his heart fluttering.

"Probably."

"Probably? You don’t sound too sure."

Hundunxi sighed. "He probably hates us to his bones."

"What did you do?" Lin Fan asked, his excitement instantly extinguished.

"That prison was hell, with almost no resources. How difficult was it to cultivate a Saint? We literally had to use ourselves as resources to ensure they grow."

"I don’t want to hear your excuse. I want to hear the facts to prepare."

"Well, for this project, only two were successful: Toutaisa and Shikongwu — the Space-Time Chaos Demon God. However, by the time the two reached the second step, we realized a major problem."

"They were hard to control," Lin Fan sneered.

"That’s right. Most of us were in a semi-dead state, and even the one alive had barely recuperated. Our situation was even worse since we had to sacrifice our origin to raise these two ingrates."

"So, you decided to eliminate the threat."

"It’s not as simple as you think," Hundunxi explained. "They were our hope, and we sacrificed so much. How could we easily give up? Even with the risk of death, most of us were determined to escape that hell. Unfortunately, these people are starting to display signs of madness."

"Madness? You’re telling me two Tribunal Lords went mad?"

"Pangu was ruthless and killed most of us. As such, many of us existed only as semi-obsession life forms, and even those barely clinging to life were full of resentment and hatred toward Pangu or Mother for their betrayal. So, when we used our powers to feed these two, the —"

"The obsessions and negative emotions also enter their very [Existence]," Lin Fan finished.

"Exactly. Could you imagine the devastation these two would cause once they were truly gone? We had no choice but to eliminate them."

Lin Fan frowned, "Then, why are you asking me to seek Toutaisa’s help? Isn’t he dead?"

"He survived the cleansing with his life barely intact," Hundunxi replied. "More importantly, he used his Reincarnation Origin to cleanse himself of the obsession and negative emotions. However, you can imagine what our relationship became afterward."

"No matter what, I must try. He might be my only chance," Lin Fan replied.

"Be careful. I’m now 90% sure that Toutaisa exists because Mother had an idea on how to perfect the Six Paths of Samsara and experimented with us first," Hundunxi said. In his period, there was no such thing as reincarnation. Beings were born, died, and returned to Heaven and Earth — there was no recycling of souls, let alone retaining memories from past life.

"I understand."

Lin Fan nodded before looking at Wang Wei in the distance, "How do you think I should deal with our animosity?"

"What? Still scared."

Lin Fan shook his head. After his enlightenment, his inferiority complex toward Wang Wei was gone. "I’m being pragmatic. You’re probably going to be unavailable for a while as you recondense your body. My master is blessed by luck, so it’ll be found even if Wang Wei targets him. He will probably still give my wife face, leaving only me and the academy. I’m not scared of him, but the academy can withstand the wrath of the Dao Opening Sect — and the Seal Origin Continent."

"Well, I don’t care about how you deal with the situation, but you’d better stay away from him for now. His killing intent toward you hasn’t abated for a moment."

Lin Fan nodded.

Wang Wei sat with his eyes closed for a few months before his heart started to beat at an atrocious level. A sense of doom overwhelmed his senses, and he opened his eyes. Sensing something, he glanced toward Lin Fan’s direction.

A cold, indifferent, and noble gaze returned his glance before focusing on matters more important. With a thought, a beam of light rushed from Lin Fan’s forehead, heading directly into the battlefield’s Primordial Chaos Force. Wang Wei observed intently, trying to glean as much information as possible. Sadly, he couldn’t detect a single clue.

Resisting the urge to activate the Mirroring Seed, he waited. A few minutes later, Hundunxi seemed to have succeeded in his plan, so he glanced at Wang Wei, "It’s your turn."

"I forfeit this battle," Wang Wei declared without hesitation, instantly activating the hidden rule or mechanism of this battle. The Power Force trembled slightly, but the construct showed no resistance. The winner was the king. No matter how this win was achieved, winning meant getting everything.

"You see that, Pangu," Hundunxi laughed maniacally. "Your decision was stupid. Just as you betrayed us back then, you were betrayed by your chosen champion. You must have paid a steep price to help him, but he still betrayed you. Hahaha, but that’s what you deserve — to die alone without any allies."

Wang Wei coldly stared at him. At first, he sided with Hongjun because he had to protect his first home: Earth. However, after this battle, his disdain for these people had reached a new height. And as such, he decided that besides a few, the Chaos Demon Gods will never have a place in the Transcendent Era as long as he’s alive.

Without uttering a word, Wang Wei continued observing the situation. After his defeat, the Primordial Chaos Force gained even more momentum. More importantly, Wang Wei sensed a unique consciousness that he was too familiar with.

"That’s how it is. Both Pangu and Hundunxi were acting as this world’s Heavenly Dao, co-governing everything. This battle was to determine who would swallow the other and ascend to the position of Grand Dao, lording over the entire Chaos Origin World," Wang Wei figured out.

Hundunxi finished releasing his bottled anger. With a thought, he cut off a large chunk of the Power Force before pushing the rest to an unknown location. In this grand plan, in this feast, he wasn’t the only one involved, meaning he couldn’t eat everything alone.

"Let’s get this over with," Hundunxi finally said, gazing at Wang Wei. With a snap of his finger, a portal appeared less than 2 meters away from the latter. Time was of the essence, so Wang Wei followed up by mirroring Maitreya.

As soon as the process started, he understood why so many people sought Dongfang as their partner/cauldron. Wang Wei immediately started experiencing everything Maitreya experienced during her sanctification process. From every thought, every breath taken, every action, and every suffering, he even noticed every change to her body down to her [Existence].

"It’s a shame this is not the time," Wang Wei thought as he cast the spells he had already prepared, which recorded the entire experience. He was glad he did because of how unique Maitreya’s experience was. After sanctification, Maitreya had only three pillars, and to Wang Wei’s surprise, the mirror also allowed him to experience how she recovered from 3 pillars to 12.

Wang Wei recorded everything. Once he digests her life experience, his understanding of the pillars and Primordial Saint’s Dao Foundation will drastically increase, which will be crucial to the establishment of the Otherworldly Foundation.

Then, without wasting another second, Wang Wei stepped through the portal. Hundunxi calmly watched him. "With his personality, he won’t wait long to get his revenge. This should remove most eyes from me."

Hundunxi glanced at the Primordial Chaos Force. Although he agreed to become his mother’s pawn, it didn’t mean he wouldn’t try to fight back. No matter his feelings for his mother, it didn’t change the fact that Hundunxi was a third-step powerhouse; how can such a being accept being a puppet? Taking a decent piece of the Power Force is a way for him to fight back, but he doesn’t want anyone to disturb him.
