Chapter 1764: Xin’er 2.0
Chapter 1764: Xin’er 2.0
The Tribunal Lords frowned. The issue of a broken Dao Heart is both severe and simple. Unlike when Wang Wei was in the lower dimension, where there were limited resources or methods to deal with the issue of Dao Heart, it would be pretty simple for these second-step Transcendence, at least, in terms of methods. The problem is time and sensitivity.
The methods they can use to address a broken Dao Heart as soon as possible require careful cultivation. Higher beings can too easily influence a lower entity. That’s why Great Emperors and Empyreans are not recommended to use a foreign Paragon Artifact for too long. At the Saint tier, the issue is even more concerning.
Healing a broken Dao Heart involved affecting a cultivator’s mind, soul, spirit, and even willpower. If these Tribunal Lords are not careful in the process, they will accidentally influence their target. At first, this influence might not be noticeable, but it will show up during the sanctification process and ruin everything.
As such, they would need to be extra careful and sensitive when healing another’s Dao Heart. The problem is that there are too many people affected, and more importantly, none of these Tribunal Saints care enough to waste the time to help even one of those soldiers. There is no kinship, friendship, or allyship between them, so why would these Tribunal Lords go to all the extra effort to heal each individual carefully?
"I can create a dream world that condenses a physical manifestation of their broken Dao Heart in the shape of Heart Devils," the True Dream Lord uttered. "By confronting and defeating the Heart Devil, they can heal their Dao Heart. However, as you can expect, such a process is slow and tedious."
"I can add the [Mind, Body, and Will Incantation] that can heal Dao Heart," Trinity Venerable added.
"I have the [Zen-Mind Reincarnation Mantra] with the same effect," the Erudite Duchess added.
"I can add the Heart Soothing Qi as another bonus," the Source Qi Cardinal commented.
"I have a way that can combine everybody’s methods for the optimal effect," Wang Wei stated. As soon as the True Dream Lord spoke, he remembered the program Xin’er that he created for the lower dimension Dream World. She was the cultivation world’s version of a therapist, designed to help people heal their Dao Heart. If these people could use their techniques, abilities, and knowledge to create a new and improved Xin’er, the problem of broken Dao Heart might be fixed in record time.
"It’s indeed a good way to accelerate the recuperating time," the Erudite Duchess nodded after hearing about Xin’er. Time was of the essence, so they did not waste it. The creation of Xin’er and the subsequent Dream World by Wang Wei’s request only took a few thousand years, but only a few seconds have passed outside the meeting room due to the Time Cardinal’s help.
Wang Wei immediately left afterward to take care of these mentally injured soldiers. Meanwhile, the Tribunal Lords started repairing the Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array and upgrading it. They continued using the scattered worlds floating in Primordial Chaos. Resources were limited, and these worlds — which contained a Heavenly Dao, laws, spiritual energy, and countless souls — were still the best materials.
The entire process was slow and methodical because everybody was on guard. The Erudite Duchess and the Slaughter Ancestor did not even enter seclusion to recuperate their injuries, as they wanted to be on guard in case of an attack from the Infinite Divine Court. The team also left the Thirteen Pillars of Destruction alone to prevent stepping on the nerves of the court.
Central Command Room:
Wang Wei kept close eyes on the development of the Dream World and Xin’er’s work. Based on Wang Wei’s suggestions, the Tribunal Lords programmed [Xin’er] not to reveal the information or state of any of the people she is treating — not even to Wang Wei. However, she can provide reports on how many people have chosen to use the program, their progress, and how close they are to repairing their Dao Heart.
’Once this job is finished, I’ll take Xin’er 2.0 with me back home,’ Wang Wei schemed. Recent events have proven that even Saints can have their Dao Hearts broken, so having such an artifact for healing is an excellent foundation. The Tribunal Lords don’t care about such a thing, and even if they did, they now know how to create one. Wang Wei was confident in pocketing this thing without any issue.
"With a few tweaks, I might be able to program it into an artifact to help people condense a Saint Dao Heart," Wang Wei muttered to himself, his eyes shining with a brilliant twinkle. Xin’er 2.0 was the product of more than five Tribunal Saints. Although their purpose was only to deal with a Saint-Tier Dao Heart, and they did not go all out, her value is beyond words to describe.
There wasn’t much to do now that Xin’er was working correctly, so Wang Wei checked his military contributions. A grin wider than the Joker flashed on his face: the Tribunal Lords did not treat him unjustly. It was expected. His command was top-tier, always using the best, fastest, and most cost-effective methods against any of the enemy’s attacks. Wang Wei has never thrown a punch since the beginning of the expedition, but his effect in the entire war was greater than a hundred Saints.
"Buy, buy, buy," Wang Wei chanted. In a matter of seconds, all the Refining Path Stones on the exchange list disappeared. He even used his authority as commander to send a message telling people he was buying the stone at a price 10% higher than the list price. People did not know why the commander needed so many stones, but many were more than happy to sell them, either for the price or to make friends with Wang Wei.
With enough resources, it was time to perfect his [Freedom Seed]. However, as he was about to leave an avatar to oversee things while his main body entered a brief retreat, he received a communication or invitation for a visit.
"Hmm? What does he want?" Wang Wei murmured. His first instinct was to deny the request, but ultimately he decided otherwise. Maybe there was room for reconciliation. A few seconds later, a handsome middle-aged man with red hair with black tips, a white robe, and deep, blue, flaming eyes walked into the room.
"Commander," Saint Ink Flame saluted with cupped hands.
"Sir, I don’t think we’re familiar with each other," Wang Wei calmly stated without even standing from his seat.
’Truly, as the information said: he’s petty and easily holds a grudge,’ Saint Ink thought to himself. However, as an ancient Saint, he knew how to bend and stretch, so he shamelessly conjured a cushion to sit opposite Wang Wei.
"Commander, I’ll be direct," Saint Ink Flame said. "I offended you during the previous mission, and I sincerely apologize. You know how us Flame Cultivators are usually hot-headed. In the heat of the moment, I was scared and acted on impulse."
Wang Wei wanted to praise this man’s thick skin. While a person’s Dao or law can indeed influence their personality, that’s only for low-level cultivators. How could such a thing happen to a Saint? The man’s action was calculating, just like his presence in this room.
"Fellow Daoist, talk is cheap," Wang Wei smiled.
"I know, hence why I’ve brought an apology gift," Saint Ink nodded. A large stone materialized in his hand. "This is a rare Superior Refining Path Stone; its effect is comparable to at least 300 regular stones."
"The ship has sailed. I already have enough."
"Is that so? In that case, how about ..."
Saint Ink Flame offered countless possible remuneration: from massive amounts of military contributions, to merit, and rare items on the exchange list. However, Wang Wei rejected them all. The peaceful and jovial atmosphere slowly turned oppressive and somber.
"Fellow Daoist, are you even interested in reconciliation?" Saint Ink Flame asked in a deep voice.
"I am. My motto has always been to have more friends than enemies," Wang Wei calmly replied. "You’re just not offering anything I’m interested in."
The Saint, with a somewhat volatile personality (as he himself proclaimed), exhaled deeply to calm down. "What exactly do you want?"
"I saw the unique flames you used. I want a seedling."
"Impossible," Saint Ink Flame immediately denied. That flame contained the secrets of his sanctification. How could he easily give it to anybody?
"That’s my offer. Take it or leave it," Wang Wei shrugged. "Anyway, your offense against me wasn’t a big deal. It’s fine if we don’t reconcile. I’m not petty enough to attack everybody who has wronged me."
"So hypocritical," Saint Ink Flame thought to himself. Whoever believed such nonsense should have the word [Fool] tattooed on their foreheads.
"Anything but this," he argued. "I can even promise you to do three things for you — even if it’s immoral and as long as you’re not purposely putting me in grave danger."
Wang Wei sighed. "The more you don’t want to give me that flame, the more I want it."
