Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1614: The Power of Primordial Saint

Chapter 1614: The Power of Primordial Saint

Yiing Zheng used this opportunity to control the battle’s rhythm. The purple cloud turned into thirteen orbs that orbited around him before each released a beam. A magic circle materialized before the beam, but they passed through it. However, this was just the beginning: a path of hundreds of magic circles stood in their way, and by the time they reached Wu Hong, she casually punched them away..

The beams then altered their flight path, no longer moving in a linear pattern. However, no matter how much they zigzag, a path of magic circles or runes would block their way, rendering their powers useless. Ying Zheng suddenly fused the thirteen orbs for one last intense power beam. However, to his surprise, Wu Hong used a new seal, and his attack instantly disappeared.

’Damn this woman.’

"I guess I should thank you," Wu Hong smirked as she conjured this green seal. With a wave, she sealed a section of the River of Time before folding time in itself. Ying Zheng saw a young version of himself appearing next to him, followed by a child version and an elderly version. Then, in a matter of seconds, numerous alternate timelines or possibilities of himself materialized.

His complexion became ugly for two reasons. First, he realized the way he was utilizing his current Primordial Saint power was wrong; while he had the power, he still had the mindset of a Paragon. Saints do now borrow the power of the Grand Constructs: they command it. While he hadn’t figured that out, it was apparent Wu Hong had, probably as a result of her previous achievement of sealing Supreme Unity.

The second thing that caught his attention was the danger of this spell. With all his alternative selves present, he began to question his own existence. However, this was not the worst aspect of this Saint Art. The purpose was to forcefully fuse these selves into him, turning him into this abomination of a monster. And even if he could alter the process, if he allowed a single fusion, his [Existence] would be permanently altered.

Ying Zheng swiftly raised his hand to create a small bubble. He commanded a section of the River of Time to condense into a spirit that he controlled. So, a small, handsome spirit with a jovial smile dressed in all white manifested inside the bubble in his palm. Ying Zheng then sacrificed the spirit to release a temporal storm that erased all the variants.

Wu Hong would not accept her technique being so easily defeated, so she used even more time energy to maintain her folding. However, the clash of these two titans leaked out and spread throughout the Void Battlefield. Their surroundings changed, and the two found themselves on a battlefield with more than a dozen Paragons.

These people were shocked to say the least, especially with the horrifying aura emanating from the two false Saints. ’Those outfits — aren’t they what was popular during the Tribulation Era?’ Wu Hong thought as she observed this group. However, she immediately had better things to think about as Ying Zheng was not distracted in the least by the sudden change.

"I rule the sky, the earth, and everything in between. I rule the Heavens, the World of Man, and the Underworld," Ying Zheng chanted. Now that his mindset had changed, he understood how to use his power properly. He raised his hand to summon a gargantuan black ball of death and dropped it on Wu Hong.

"Let’s bring order to death," Wu Hong said as she used her Death Seal to control this enormous death power and organized it into her own miniature version of Six Path Samsara. The death ball resisted, and the power it unleashed instantly wiped out more than a dozen Paragons fighting. Such a mass-scale alteration to the Eternal Ascension World’s timeline should have devastating consequences, but nothing happened to these two. Instead, Heavenly Dao wiped out their mess by diverting this major alteration to the Infinite Trichiolocosm and creating a new timeline.

Six gates slowly formed around Wu Hong, and by the time they were completed, their environment had once again changed. They were now in this darkly lit place with eerie blue flames as the primary source. The environment was extremely cold, and numerous ghosts and souls were walking through this bridge that felt infinite. However, neither Wu Hong nor Ying Zheng noticed anything, as they were focused on controlling their powers.

The six gates released six individuals with no faces: a human, a black ghost, a humanoid creature with horns and a bloody aura of slaughter, a mighty bull, the Innate Demon God Black Dragon, and a glowing creature whose shape was indistinguishable. Each of these individuals, who represented an aspect of the Six Paths of Samsara, raised their hands to release an attack that fused midway.

Ying Zheng did not want to be outdone. He created six new spirits from samsara itself. However, unlike his previous Time Spirit, these spirits resembled mighty generals, wearing armor and wielding different weapons. They attacked, each using a significant aspect of samsara, such as Yin Qi, the extreme of death, the extreme of life, the soul, the cyclic nature, and new beginnings. Their power also fused before clashing with the enemy.

"You dare!"

"Bastards!"

Numerous voices echoed in this space as the Yama Kings appeared to create barriers before the clash touched. Sadly, their efforts were useless. The power of death generated from those two spread far and wide, annihilating numerous souls. The worst part is that landmarks like the Life-Reminiscing Bridge, the River of Forgetfulness (also known as the Yellow River), and the six gates were damaged or destroyed.

Wu Hong and Ying Zheng finally stopped to notice their surroundings. They realized what they had done, but before they could say something or propose any amends, a cold snort echoed between Heaven and Earth. The voice instantly teleported them away, and all the damage or destroyed souls slowly reverted to their previous states.

As soon as they returned to the Void Battlefield, they held their heads in pain while blood dripped from their noses. They immediately swallowed a handful of blood while glancing at each other. After a few seconds of staring, Ying Zheng broke the silence: "How about we continue this fight in Primordial Chaos?"

"No," Wu Hong replied without hesitation.

"Do you want to offend another Saint?" Ying Zheng frowned, but Wu Hong’s answer remained the same. Her reason, while selfish, had found logic. Their battle can activate the Grand Unified Will, which will in turn improve Heavenly Dao, who will reward her with more merit. More importantly, Wu Hong understood why they slip through time or accidentally enter samsara: lack of control.

They simply could not control the power they were using, resulting in excessive leakage, which had a significant impact on both them and the environment. However, Wu Hong was confident this would not happen again because she had more experience than Ying Zheng, and she had more knowledge about the Grand Constructs.

Wu Hong motioned with his wand to conjure a towering array, which slowly condensed into twelve black pillars, arranged in three groups, each with the characters for truth, knowledge, secret, or mystery. Ying Zheng frowned as he recognized those pillars: the Heavens Record, also known as the Heavenly Dao Library. It’s the place that supposedly records a Chaos World’s knowledge, divination, secrets, or mysteries.

"Since you want to play, I’ll play with you."

Ying Zheng’s headband released a light that resonated with the twelve pillars. He then summoned a white, grand palace with the words [Heaven] boldly written on a plaque. With his own Library of Truth, the Qin Emperor sought to counter Wu Hong’s technique.

The pillars began to rain words and characters, all bearing the weight of truth and knowledge. If any of these words hit their enemy, they could instantly incinerate them, or provide them with so much knowledge all at once that their soul shatters. Another worst possibility is that they received a truth so profound that they cannot accept, forcing them to remove themselves from the game of life. Luckily, that fate was for only lesser men, and the Qin Emperor was a man of great will, so he should be fine.

Ying Zheng’s library immediately swallowed those characters as nourishment for its growth, which made Wu Hong frown. She then snapped her finger to activate the owner of Heaven Records. An eye materialized above the pillars before showing the palace with black-purple lightning. A butterfly spirit manifested and blocked the lightning.

Their clash released a burst of power, and before they knew it, both Ying Zheng and Wu Hong were in another location. The twelve pillars were in the distance, looking even more majestic than they looked on the battlefield. Below them was an ocean of chains and runes, with a cloud at the center.

Wu Hong was slightly embarrassed, despite her expression remaining neutral. She thought she could control the power, but ultimately failed. However, she did not beat herself. As the ancient sages said, failure is the mother of success.
