Chapter 990: Chapter 1000: Entering the Holy Land (Part 1)
The group had midnight snacks until around 11 p.m., with Adele leaving earlier due to an urgent matter around 10 p.m.
Initially, aside from Xie Ziqi who was the most familiar with her, the rest were seeing her in person for the first time.
Unexpectedly, she was not only as easy-going as the media portrayed but equally enjoyable in private.
Such a person is someone whose words and actions align seamlessly.
After eating, they didn’t consider other activities.
Except for Lin Xi, everyone else was quite tired, particularly Xie Ziqi.
It’s important to note that she had sung for over two hours, making her both mentally and physically exhausted by now.
After returning to the hotel together, Luo Susu and Jones went to their rooms, and Lin Xi followed Xie Ziqi, Dili Bare, and the others back to the presidential suite.
He originally planned to relax at the infinity pool.
However, he was informed by staff that the pool had closed at 10:30 p.m.
He had no choice but to lie in bed and sleep.
Of course, before sleeping, he entered the Jade Pendant Space to cultivate for two hours.
During this period, although his strength was growing daily, faster even than during his Soldier King days,
breaking through to the mid-Innate stage still seemed a distant goal from his current viewpoint.
Otherwise, the speed of his advancement would even make him feel uneasy.
After all, he had trained diligently from a young age, progressing each step firmly, enduring countless trials and accumulating wisdom, reaching the pinnacle of each realm before breaking through.
This is one reason he could defeat those in the same realm with ease, even surpassing levels.
If it were merely the cultivation techniques that were formidable, but without mastering each realm, even the minor ones, before being forced to breakthrough, achieving invincibility among peers would be impossible.
After midnight, Avril, William, and two elder men with white hair, whose faces appeared extremely aged, stepped out of a business car and walked towards the ruins roughly a hundred meters ahead.
Seven or eight cars were parked nearby, with some young people and elders heading towards the ruins as well.
Surrounded by tall trees, it seemed like they were in a primitive forest.
At the center of the ruins was a small altar.
The floor around the altar, even the walls, were covered with dense runes.
At first glance, or even the second, they emitted an unsettling power that could terrify the faint-hearted into paralysis.
However, the group coming in, were not particularly curious about these runes, but their eyes were fixed intensely on the altar.
Especially strong individuals could sense a massive energy presence at the altar’s center.
This power seemed such that, upon contact, no matter how powerful, one would be utterly shattered.
They maintained a certain distance from each other, as if guarding against betrayal.
If Lin Xi were here, he would sense that each of these white-haired elders radiated an overwhelming aura.
It could be said that all of them were Innate Powerhouses.
Yet, they were all at the Early Innate Stage, with no one at mid-Innate stage.
This is understandable; if a family had even one Early Innate Powerhouse, it would surely rank among top families.
If there were a mid-Innate Powerhouse, they would surely enter the top-tier families.
It’s worth noting that the younger generation, or even those at the Early Innate Stage, have mostly never encountered someone above that stage.
Whether mid-Innate Powerhouses still exist in this world is uncertain.
After all, breaking through from Peak Soldier King to Innate, one’s age is typically at least eighty or ninety.
And post-Innate breakthrough, cultivation relies entirely on Spirit Stones.
In this age with almost no Spiritual Qi, Spirit Stones are nearly impossible to find.
Thus, advancing further becomes extremely difficult.
Or maintaining their Early Innate strength is already a formidable task.
Now that the Holy Land has emerged, offering great opportunities to obtain Spirit Stones, martial skills, and heavenly treasures therein, the dangers within remain unknown.
Yet each family is resolute in entering the Holy Land, undeterred by any danger.
If not, other families seizing abundant Spirit Stones could dramatically enhance their power.
Forsaking the dignity our clan once held becomes unavoidable.
How does one explain this?
Perhaps it’s to maintain contemporary status, or more ideally, preserve their position, with no further demands.
About ten minutes later, everyone seemed to grow anxious.
Because by then, the characters on the ground and walls began to writhe and form untranslated inscriptions.
The script seemed unlike any known on Earth.
At this moment, tension appeared on all faces.
"The Magic Array is activating!" someone exclaimed.
However, just five seconds after speaking, the entire altar burst into bright light, compelling everyone, even the Innate Powerhouses, to shut their eyes under its intensity.
Amidst an intense bout of vertigo and nausea, as if the world was spinning, after roughly ten minutes, they found themselves not in the ruins or on the altar.
The Innate Powerhouses seemed unaffected by this travel.
"Have we arrived?" someone whispered.
The group stood on a lush grassy expanse, treading on grassland.
A short distance ahead lay a small lake, its water crystal clear.
Beyond the lake, a shadow of a palace seemed visible in the distance.
Except for these Innates, those at the Soldier King Realm appeared slightly pallid.
Clearly, the last ten minutes were quite unsettling for them.
"Miss!" William’s face changed drastically, seeing Avril collapsed on the ground, pale and frighteningly so.
It was unmistakably due to the teleportation just now.
After all, she was merely an ordinary person, slightly healthier in physique compared to the average, but leagues apart from those at the Soldier King Realm.
Even those Soldier King Realm individuals felt discomfort, let alone average individuals.
"She’ll be fine, just needs some rest!" said an elderly man beside them.
William calmed down from his panic, laying Avril flat on the ground, seeing indeed nothing serious.
"Go!"
Someone suddenly shouted.
In an instant, William saw others sprint towards the indistinct palace ahead at full speed.
Within their group, one white-haired elder showed urgency and, glancing at Avril, said, "William, stay here and look after her, we are heading to the palace."
"If our guess is right, our destination should be over there."
"Wait for Avril to recover, then join us."
William nodded; indeed, this seemed the only viable option, for he could not leave her alone in this unknown dangerous area.
