Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 5490: Peril! I

Chapter 5490: Peril! I

The weavings of existence within THE Krazhor-Nul were not easily discernible.

Yet Noah kept an eye on his continuing changes as the ambient wealth of this ancient place ticked steadily into him, his existence buzzing with wonder as he turned towards a stern Ryaenara!

The exquisite figure of THE Mirthful Antiquity had gone stern in a way he had rarely seen from her as her hands were already moving, waving through the heavy air as strands of her boundless power spread out to cover everyone present, settling over them in radiant fine layers as she was veiling them!

She was not doing this casually either, but with the thorough and hurried care of someone wrapping priceless treasures before a calamitous storm arrived.

"THE Krazhor-Nul is a place I have only ever heard of. And what I heard was enough to never come looking."

She kept weaving as she spoke, the words flowing out fast as her vibrant eyes shone with graveness!

"This place held the first templates of Lifeforms. Experiments, run by the Cursed Descendants, the Cursed Lineage of Existence descending from a particularly powerful one among Those Who Remain."

...!

She did not name which one!

"Regal Steeds of Those Who Remain were bred in this Dimension as experiments, and they were the first Lifeforms ever cultivated as if they were Observable Existences, each one was given its own First Cause as each one was meant to be untouched, set apart, perfect! The Progeny who tended this place akin to farmhands were told plainly to never hold designs on the Steeds of Those Who Remain."

Around the vast nest, the listening beings had gone still as the hand of Astrid settled on her spear without her even seeming to notice, the patient purple light of Amser Modred turning slower and slower!

"But of course, such Steeds were unfathomable things to leave alone. Lifeforms holding their own First Causes, bred for the backs of Those Who Remain? Greed overcame the Progeny as greed always does, they tried to take the Steeds for themselves and for it...they were cursed!"

WAA!

"The Steeds they touched were cursed alongside them as their Causes collapsed into perpetual terminal weavings, every experiment declared a failure in a single stroke as all of them became Abominations. The Steeds with their failing Causes...and the Progeny themselves!"

She finished the veil and let her hands fall as her voice carried boundless graveness.

"The Descendants have been seeking escape from their curse ever since. That is what this Dimension is now! They experiment on every other lifeform they can reach, hunting for solutions as they cast weavings across existence to pull subjects in. Infinite Lifeforms, Source Lifeforms, Gilded ones, anything unique...even True Lifeforms and Primeval ones who find their way here are treated as nothing more than experimental subjects for the Cursed Descendants!"

...!

Words of terrifying calamity echoed.

The Dora Shath’yar had gone grim down their whole line as Emotive pressed closer against Noah’s arm, her manic light banked low for once as even the manifestation of THE Infiniverse had drawn quiet, her gaze moving slowly across the colossal nest walls as though re-measuring what had hatched them.

Only Noah’s eyes were shining.

Brilliantly, in fact, as if he was hearing something entirely different compared to everyone else here!

At this moment, THE Creature floated up while looking around the vast nest with his cold and unhurried attention as he nodded.

"I have heard of this place as well. It is one even Primeval Lifeforms try to avoid as the Cursed Descendants are ruthless in trying to reverse their fates, they are powerful, but their lives carry an expiration date. They reproduce well enough, but some die after a hundred years, some after a thousand, some after a million depending on the potency of the curse in their line."

His obsidian flames burned low and even as his grand voice continued.

"Knowing there are lifeforms so much weaker than them who can live for so much longer made them extremely brutal. If this place is even slightly survivable, it will hold tremendous adversity. Otherwise..."

He did not finish the sentence.

Even THE Creature was somber as Noah almost wanted to ask him the obvious question of just how he could have any informstion about this place at all!

Ryaenara had only heard rumors, and she was more powerful than any of them here...so what had THE Creature heard, and from whom, and in which era? The question joined a growing shelf of questions about his companion!

But he set this aside for now.

Because his mind was buzzing with something else entirely!

Cursed Steeds of Those Who Remain that were designed and engineered like Observable Existences, each one holding its own First Cause...and now cursed with their Causes locked in perpetual terminal weavings. Dying, in other words! Dying the slow structural death of ones whose foundations were failing.

His shining eyes turned to gaze at THE Infiniverse.

She could effectively be considered a Living Observable Existence, couldn’t she? A domain with her own Causes and her own Egoic Intent, aware, alive, whole...she was, when he laid it out plainly, a success! The very thing these ancient experiments had been reaching for when they cultivated Lifeforms as Observable Existences was standing in this nest fully realized while wearing a cerulean-threaded dress!

And the Steeds?

If they truly were cursed and dying lifeforms built on the architecture of Observable Existences, then what were their failing First Causes if not the exact wound Noah had already healed multiple times before?!

He had resuscitated Chernobyl. He had resuscitated the drowned Cradle, seating Causes into dying foundations was not a theory to him.

It was a practiced craft!

Was this why THE Estuary Eye had drawn him into this perilous place?!

Out of millions of doors across the dark, across time itself, his Anchor had chosen the one Dimension holding such history!

As he was thinking all of this...

HUUM!

His existence buzzed with warning and immensity at this time unlike any other!

A colossal shadow covered the nest.

Noah and the others looked up as their gazes changed.

Right. Many lifeforms were pulled into this place. And they had come out of an egg inside a nest as naturally, nests did not tend themselves! Something had built this one, something had laid or gathered or guarded what hatched here and looked after it...and that something seemed to have come home!

Its aura was suffocating as crimson eyes opened wide and curved into an utterly devilish smile, as if it were looking at vibrant new meals!
