Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4939: THE Youngest and THE Oldest I

Chapter 4939: THE Youngest and THE Oldest I

The words from THE Mnemonic Leviathan were heavy ones.

Noah’s eyes became somber and pondering as he continued working the soil, his fingers pressing golden shoots deeper into earth that thrummed with the Infinities he was feeding into it. The coolness of the dirt beneath his nails grounded him even as his mind raced through implications.

Was this truly the case?

He had his illusory manifestation of his consciousness in the distant Primordial Realm of Alfheimr, where he was discussing things with THE Primordial Chaos. The only vibe he got from this powerful being was how cautious and careful he was when it came to THE Entity.

THE Primordial Chaos had sensed the changes in existence, and after analyzing how they unfolded, he’d kept himself away and isolated his Primordial Realm for the most part.

Even though the figures of THE Living Temporal, THE Living Dimensional, and THE Living Quantum had happened to be in Jotunheim around that same time, and all three became infected, it was only now, in the last few moments, that Noah had been able to help THE Living Temporal escape this infection.

In the weavings of all of this, could something have happened that none of them imagined?

Could Chaos truly have been compromised?

And did he simply not know it?

The possibility itself was unfathomably heavy.

He also caught another set of words that THE Mnemonic Leviathan had said. She’d referred to the aspects of the Oldest Paradox in Existence as the Keys of Civilization.

So he simply had to ask.

"Why do you call Chaos, Existence, Paradox, and THE First Tongue the Keys of Civilization?"

He already had an idea, but he had to ask anyway. This old ancient entity, with all the knowledge in Observable Existence, loved to talk even though she routinely said she only wanted to slumber.

The pink dolphin took a moment before she replied.

Her gaze drifted toward the horizon of the Early Veiled Shore, where the sky met the sea in a line of perfect, undisturbed twilight.

"They are the Keys because they are the basal, simplest fundamental definitions of the Civilizational Scale. They are the Keys that open the Doorways the Higher Scales, well, opened the doorways to Higher Scales."

Her sonorous voice vibrated through the water and air alike.

"Many Civilization that have ever climbed the Vakochev Scales has done so by tethering itself to these four center points. They are not merely paths among many paths. They are the anchors upon which many other paths are built."

She floated in a slow circle, her pink form casting soft light across the vegetation Noah was tending.

"Chaos provides the raw, undifferentiated potential. The entropy that allows for change. Without Chaos, Civilizations would be static, unable to evolve or adapt. They would crystallize into forms that could never grow beyond their initial configurations. Chaos is the breath that keeps Civilization alive, the constant churning that prevents stagnation from claiming everything that dares to define itself."

Noah’s hands continued their work, but his attention was fully fixed on the Leviathan’s words.

"Existence provides the stability. The grounding that allows a Civilization to endure. If Chaos is the breath, then Existence is the body. It is the framework upon which all other aspects hang their authority. Without Existence, Civilizations would dissolve into the potential they drew from, unable to maintain coherence long enough to climb even a single step of the Scales. Existence declares that something IS, and that declaration is the foundation upon which everything else is built."

The dolphin’s eyes, ancient and deep despite their playful housing, turned to meet Noah’s gaze.

"Paradox allows for the impossible. The contradictions that drive evolution beyond linear growth. When a Civilization reaches the limits of what logic permits, Paradox opens doors that shouldn’t exist. It allows beings to be more than the sum of their parts, to achieve heights that their foundations alone could never support. Paradox is the exception that proves every rule, and in proving those rules, it transcends them."

She paused, her glow intensifying slightly.

"And THE First Tongue. Energy. Mana. Authority. Language...The architecture that allows a Civilization to define its own reality and write its laws into the fabric of the Existence. Where Chaos provides potential, Existence provides stability, and Paradox provides transcendence, THE First Tongue provides expression. It is the voice through which Civilizations speak themselves into being. It is the pen that writes the rules. It is the authority that declares what is permitted and what is forbidden within the boundaries of a Civilization’s domain."

Noah felt the truth of these words resonating through his own Civilization, through THE First Tongue that burned at his core with Infinite authority!

The sensation was like hearing a description of his own heartbeat from someone who had studied hearts since before hearts existed.

"Now...."

The Leviathan’s voice dropped to something more serious.

"These four Keys do not merely represent paths to power. They represent the fundamental architecture of the Civilizational Scale itself. The First Scale of Existence, where most beings struggle and fail and occasionally succeed, is built upon the interplay of these four Keys. Every Civilization that exists within the First Scale is, whether they know it or not, drawing from some combination of Chaos, Existence, Paradox, and THE First Tongue."

She floated closer to Noah, her ancient eyes holding depths that made even his elevated perception struggle to fully perceive.

"But THE Second Scale is different."

...!

Noah’s hands stilled in the infinite soil as those words settled into his consciousness.

"THE Second Scale is not merely a continuation of the First. It is not simply more power, more authority, more foundation. The Second Scale...ah, its different. Even I cannot know much of it."

...!

The dolphin’s form seemed to grow more substantial, more real, as she spoke of things that few beings in Observable Existence had ever grasped!

"But I digress. If one of these Keys is turned by an outside hand, when its fundamental nature is altered by something that shouldn’t have the authority to alter it, the very nature of what Civilization is changes. If Chaos truly speaks with the tongue of Order, if the Key of raw potential has been claimed by something that seeks to impose unity upon all things..."

She didn’t finish the sentence.

She couldn’t!
