Chapter 4814: The Enemy Unseen II
Chapter 4814: The Enemy Unseen II
Chaos wanted to talk?
He would talk.
After all, much of what he saw and came to learn from THE Weavers’ death made him very curious about Chaos.
Why did THE Secretive Eon target him first among THE Four?
And what explained how different Chaos was from the other Aspects as he was seeing through his newly gained perception?
The cleanliness of the Weavings of Chaos. The diligence with which Corrupted Growths were purified around his domain. The contradiction between his philosophy of disorder and his apparent dedication to maintaining stability.
When there were a number of questions, it was always good to get answers from the source!
So he closed his eyes as a part of his consciousness began to buzz and sought to impose itself countless gigaparsecs away, inside a Primordial Realm!
---
In Alfheimr.
The standoff between THE Primordial Chaos and THE Living Origin and THE First Hunger had settled into a heavy silence that pressed against everyone present with weight that made breathing difficult.
Chaos stood with his form shifting constantly, his presence alone enough to make the crystalline trees of Alfheimr tremble with recognition of what they were hosting. Behind Origin, the natives of this realm, the Ljósálfar who had welcomed her home with such joy moments before, shakily stood up as if they would die for her without hesitation.
Their light-woven forms flickered with determination that transcended their fear.
They would stand beside their Ljósmóðir even against one of THE Four.
Even if it meant their complete and utter collapse.
And yet, uniquely, THE Primordial Chaos was looking at them with a calm gaze that held no malice, no threat, no intention of violence. He did not make any move after telling Origin to reach out toward THE Youngest.
He simply waited.
Origin shook her head resolutely.
"As I said before, it is not happening."
Her voice came firm despite the pressure pressing down on her from an entity who could crush her with a thought.
"The musings of THE Creature are here. Can you all not talk amongst each other? Is that not why you are here to begin with?"
She actually spoke in such a way against a terrifying Absolute who could crush other Absolutes, much less someone like her who had not yet grasped the level of Absolute!
And once more, THE Primordial Chaos did not reply to her.
He only looked within her existence as if he could sense something there, something uniquely different from everything else that Origin represented. His shifting features settled into focused attention as he studied whatever he was perceiving.
And shockingly, a moment later, a brilliant blue-gold light began to shine from the hip of THE Living Origin!
What looked like a medallion flowed out of her existence and began to spin in the air of its own accord!
It was a glorious Absolute Seal of Quintessence!
From the back, THE Living Emotive laughed with delight that cycled through her features.
"Haha, no way, right? Osmont himse..."
"Hush."
BOOM!
The booming voice of THE Primordial Chaos echoed out with a sense of finality at this moment, as if he was giving the last warning that he would be giving today to Emotive.
Her mouth did not even finish moving as she quieted down, the light in her gaze flickering with humiliation and barely contained rage as she looked at what was happening silently.
The Seal spun with increasing intensity, blue-gold light radiating outward in patterns that spoke of authority being channeled across impossible distances.
Moments later, an illusory visage of none other than Noah appeared beside THE Living Origin!
Origin turned to Hunger as her eyes squinted sharply with accusation, but he looked at the figure of Noah with innocent confusion, as if he had done absolutely nothing to bring this about.
And Noah fully formed as he looked around this landscape.
Alfheimr.
Yet another Primordial Realm that was not even a possibility for many to know across Observable Existence, unless you had the power to truly perceive the ancient domains where THE Four had first risen.
The crystalline forests stretched in all directions. The floating islands cascaded with waterfalls of liquid Mana. The sky shifted between aurora and starlight.
And now at this moment, somehow, those who had backed his Way and who came here for their own purposes had met with a party that contained one of THE Four alongside THE Living Elemental and THE Living Emotive.
The moment his illusory consciousness arrived here, Noah gave a glance to the terrifying visage of THE Primordial Chaos.
Looking at this being was like staring into the heart of disorder itself given form. His features never settled. His outline never stabilized. He was simultaneously many possibilities and no possibilities, the very concept of chaos made manifest.
And yet Chaos looked back at him with something that might have been respect.
Thereafter, Noah gave a glance to Emotive.
She was beautiful in the way that a storm was beautiful, her features cycling through emotions faster than normal perception could track. Joy and malice and curiosity and hunger all competed for dominance across her expression.
Her authority felt like layers of manic energy that were waiting to erupt, that actually wanted to erupt at this very moment, and yet she didn’t seem able to, as if she was being held back by something more powerful than her desire for chaos.
He barely heard the word "hush" when he entered that stemmed from THE Primordial Chaos.
It seemed other Absolutes, even with all their power, could be put in line by a single word from a truly powerful Absolute.
After he looked at THE Living Emotive, he turned his head toward THE Living Elemental.
This was the man who did what no man should do to another.
This was the man who put a burning curse on him that forced him to separate from his women for such a long...
Well, it actually wasn’t that long, but still!
The one he marked to be his greatest enemy in existence, purely from that single simple action.
THE Living Elemental.
He looked at this being and the first thing that he did after he arrived in this place was smile toward him.
A smile.
But the smile was brutal and heavy, and it held immense waves of meaning. It was like he was silently communicating that he had just taken down an Absolute and Elemental was his number one target coming up next.
...!
The figure of THE Living Elemental hardened his expression as he retained his majesty and glory, keeping his face straight as he said nothing in response to the silent threat being delivered.
And then Noah returned his gaze back to THE Primordial Chaos.
In the distant past when he met this being before, Chaos had been full of smiles while presenting his choices. He had seemed playful. Amused. As if everything was entertainment for his enjoyment.
And yet right now he seemed unfathomably serious as he looked at Noah straight and said with weight that pressed against everyone present.
"Why don’t the rest of you find something to do? The adults have to talk for a bit."
BOOM!
Woah.
The adults?
The words that THE Primordial Chaos said were extremely heavy and demeaning to all others here as he considered THE Living Elemental and THE Living Emotive, and THE Living Origin and THE First Hunger to be mere children!
And he didn’t differentiate between either of them.
The only one he gave any sense of respect to was Noah since he was in the same rank as him.
One of THE Four!
It was an astonishing scene as the moment THE Primordial Chaos said this, THE Living Elemental was the first to move back and actually leave this area without even looking back.
He simply turned and disappeared into the crystalline forests of Alfheimr as if he had received a command that could not be disobeyed.
Noah could already sense the hesitation of THE Living Origin and THE First Hunger behind him as he raised his hands and said with casual authority that expected compliance.
"Go. It shouldn’t be anything too crazy."
...!
