Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4787: Egregious! I

Chapter 4787: Egregious! I

One could make many mistakes in life.

But some mistakes were so unfathomably egregious compared to others that someone had to ask... why would that person do that?

Hunt Noah? Okay, not a problem.

Scheme and plan and make things difficult for him? No problem! Struggles were part of Existence, after all!

But why would they go after his dog that he had just gotten a chance to be with in such a short time span?

For him, the matter of time was actually inconsequential when it came to the relationship itself.

The moment that Duke passed from the hands of Galileo and came to him. The moment that he awakened him from Duke to Skoll. The moment that this simple dog helped him rescue others of his Civilization and even escape the hands of an Absolute.

At the moment all of these things came to pass, Duke was already part of his camp.

Part of his family.

The time of it did not matter too much.

Bonds were not measured in duration. They were measured in weight. In meaning. In the willingness to stand beside someone at times of great difficulty.

Skoll had stood beside him.

And now THE Weavers had targeted him?

As if THE Weavers had seen all of this, she had decided to skip Lumivara and Ul’moreth. She went straight for his dog. The innocent one.

It was an utterly egregious mistake.

One that Noah would be sure to let THE Weavers know to their last breath.

Glossikos spoke with measured calm.

"The challenge has already been issued. Your dog has been directly transported to the Arena."

Her obsidian-blue eyes studied him.

"A few other things seem to be happening behind the scenes. But what will you do?"

What he would do was already set in stone.

Now, it just meant that it would happen with even more brutality and blood.

Noah’s eyes pulsed with the weight of the Seal of Infinity. Blue-gold radiance spilled from his gaze as if his very perception had become weaponized.

"I’m sure they did this to pull me out. So I will put myself forward."

His voice came cold and absolute.

"Pass the word for me. I will stand to replace the one that THE Weavers have challenged."

The figure of Glossikos sighed and lightly nodded.

"Absolute is Absolute, regardless of where you currently stand."

Her voice carried warning.

"If you are not an Absolute yourself, regardless of how astonishing you are..."

She did not finish her words.

As if their ending would truly not be a great one.

But she did continue.

"Originally, there is another location within this Villa Dei Boscoreale apart from The Thermae of Cyclic Refinement that would have served you well."

Her eyes grew distant with contemplation.

"It is filled with items and weapons that have a level of power similar to, or even sometimes exceeding, Fragments of Axioms."

Her gaze returned to him.

"This region is THE Mouseion of Fated Artifacts. The Museum of Destiny."

She began to explain.

"THE Mouseion of Fated Artifacts contains item-based treasures. Unlike the Thermae where consumption is guaranteed to provide benefits, the Mouseion operates on principles of fate and worthiness."

Her voice grew more serious.

"If one is fated to receive a particular artifact, they will be drawn to it and the barriers will part. If one is not fated, the barriers remain impenetrable regardless of power level."

She paused for emphasis.

"Even Absolutes cannot force their way to artifacts not meant for them."

Her hand waved, and images seemed to shimmer in the steam around them.

"Some items include The Stylus of Cadmus. A bronze writing implement that never dulls. Anything written with this stylus becomes a binding Declaration for 24 hours."

The image shifted.

"The Lyre of Orpheus. A golden stringed instrument that plays itself when held. Music from this lyre can influence emotions of beings up to one Depth above the player."

Another shift.

"The Thread of Ariadne. An unbreakable golden thread on a spindle. It always leads the holder to what they truly seek."

The images continued to flicker.

"The Caduceus Shard. A fragment of the original herald’s staff. It allows communication across any distance. It can broker truces that cannot be broken."

She dismissed the images with a wave.

"There are countless others. Weapons that can pierce through Declarations. Shields that can absorb the weight of Absolutes. Items that defy conventional understanding of what is possible."

Glossikos looked at him directly.

"I’ll make sure you don’t miss that opportunity."

Her voice grew practical.

"Give me a unique signature of your Depth and I will take it to THE Mouseion of Fated Artifacts. Whatever is fated for you... will come to you anywhere in THE Agora of Primordial Judgment."

Her smile held a dangerous edge.

"Even while you are facing THE Weavers in the Arena."

She said such words as Noah nodded.

He waved his hand.

A brilliant blue-gold Seal of Infinity emerged from his palm, spinning with authority that told of foundations refined beyond normal parameters. It carried the unique signature of his Depth. The weight of his existence compressed into a single spinning construct.

His dominating body turned around.

And disappeared a moment later.

The Seal of Infinity continued spinning toward Glossikos like a coin flipping through air.

She grasped it in her hands.

She looked it over up and down with careful attention. The weight of it. The density of it. The sheer authority compressed into something so small.

A contemplative look entered her eyes.

"Would he truly be able to make a significant enough difference?"

An Absolute wondered.

And it was a wonder in itself as to what exactly she was contemplating.

Was she thinking about the battle ahead?

Was she thinking about the future of THE Agora of Primordial Judgment?

Or was she thinking about something else entirely?

Something that only Absolutes knew?

The questions hung in the steam-filled air of The Thermae as Glossikos began moving toward THE Mouseion of Fated Artifacts.

Carrying the signature of THE Genesis Monarch with her.
