Chapter 434: Cultivation Library
Chapter 434: Cultivation Library
Zhu Que floated high in the sky, breathing heavily.
Using the second sword was truly draining, even with the law of reincarnation supporting her, she still felt completely exhausted.
She turned around to look at the events happening several thousand miles away.
There, she saw massive dark clouds releasing an overwhelming aura.
Lightning struck continuously from the heavens.
In the midst of all this chaos, she could see the lady.
Zhu Que thought to herself that the lady was just entering the tribulation stage, yet the lightning was this powerful. She felt that if she went there, she might not make it out alive. The lightning seemed to be filled with law power.
At that moment, she sensed people appearing behind her and turned around with a dark expression.
There were seven of them, all earth immortals.
“Did you come for revenge?” she asked, placing her hand on the hilt of her sword.
She wondered if she could use that technique once again. She looked to the side – no, not here.
If she released that sort of power here, it might interfere with the lady’s breakthrough.
The other group looked at her.
They had panicked at first when they saw the life tokens of their sects’ geniuses break, but seeing this girl before them, they relaxed slightly. They could tell from her reaction that she was nervous.
How could someone who could beat those monsters be nervous? This could only mean one thing – she had used some sort of trick to kill them and couldn’t use it again. If that was the case, then they could capture her and deliver her to those above as an explanation.
Otherwise, it really was going to be their heads.
Zhu Que watched them carefully. She wondered what to do now – the void domain had already run out. As she thought about this, she suddenly noticed something in the sky.
“That’s…” her eyes widened.
The other immortals also noticed this and raised their eyes to see. Their earlier confidence instantly turned into horror when they saw what was above them.
A massive hand seemed to be descending from the heavens.
The hand was covered in absolute darkness, completely absorbing all light around it as if made purely of void. Before they could react, the hand caught them all in one scoop and crushed them into nothingness.
The hand then flickered and disappeared.
“Such power and control…” Zhu Que spoke in a trembling voice. “As expected of the lord,” she said, bowing several hundred times before disappearing into the folds of space.
…
Xiang Yu stared at the system notification before him.
He had yet to use the chance for upgrading a system function or opening a new function.
He had thought it over multiple times and wasn’t sure what to do.
If he unlocked a new function, he didn’t know what he would get, which made him more inclined to upgrading the simulation function. He thought to himself that if he upgraded the simulation function, it might allow him to bring others into the simulation. Then maybe they could practice against the sage with Li Yao, learning all her weaknesses.
But after some thought, he decided to give up on this – at least for the moment.
Even if he got this feature, it would be useless right now. Every time he selected the sage as the practice partner, the simulation would just instantly end. He suspected that he was being killed that quickly without even the chance to react.
He sighed. How was he supposed to beat this in a month?
He looked at the ’unlock new system function’ button for the first time in a while. “Maybe I’ll get something useful from here,” he thought, pressing the button.
A few seconds passed and he pressed his palm against his face. “Shit. What bad luck,” he thought. He wondered if he had exhausted all his luck with the previous functions.
He exhaled, calming himself. There was no useless function – he just needed to find a way to make use of it.
But looking at it…
“Well, maybe it isn’t so bad,” he thought, though he found it hard to convince himself.
The new system function was called Cultivation Library.
It was just like it sounded – a library containing all sorts of information about cultivation.
If this was it, he wouldn’t be as disappointed. The problem was that at the moment, it covered just the mortal realms. Knowledge about building unique foundations in the Foundation realm, unique golden cores, advancing past tenth layer Body Refining, unique souls – all that.
It had all this information but only up to the Mahayana realm, which was quite disappointing.
For someone like him, he didn’t need any of this.
He began going through the cultivation library.
With his mind level and enlightenment, although the library was extremely huge – containing knowledge of books that, if stacked together, had over ten times the mass of the sun – he easily managed to absorb it all.
In just two hours, he was done.
He opened his eyes with a serious expression on his face.
It wasn’t that the function was useless. Well… it kinda was.
But it had potential. He even learned how to unlock all sorts of saint bodies. If he could upgrade it a few times, he might learn how to unlock all sorts of dao bodies too and other things he doesn’t know.
What about the source realm? Would it have information on this too? It was from the system after all, so why would it not?
Xiang Yu decided to put it on the list of functions he really wanted to advance.
He turned his attention to all the knowledge he had received. Since he was already reaching the peak of the mortal realms, all this knowledge was useless to him. Even so, this wasn’t the case for the others still in the mortal realms.
He decided to compile the most useful knowledge for his sect.
He focused especially on unique attributes and martial physiques.
He looked at the conditions needed for activating all sorts of physiques. Although they were just saint bodies which were useless to him, he found it interesting and took some notes for later when he decided to make another physique.
