Infinite Awakening: My Exp Doubles Everyday

Chapter 299: Noble Blood

Chapter 299: Noble Blood

The moment Xiang Yu confirmed the fusion process to begin, he felt the bloodlines inside him start churning violently.

They surged with power, the energy climbing higher and higher until the bloodlines reached a boiling point. Before long, his skin started rupturing, just like during previous bloodline breakthroughs. It seemed he had actually underestimated the sheer force of the fusion process – his bloodline level was actually advancing to the noble blood stage.

The destruction and reconstruction cycle was even more brutal than before. His bloodlines seemed particularly hostile this time as they adapted to their new abilities.

Just as Xiang Yu had predicted, the bloodlines had grown even more violent as they became stronger, each one fighting desperately to outclass the other.

He watched nervously as sometimes one bloodline would surge forward, becoming slightly more powerful than its rival and managing to push back against it. But this advantage would only last for a brief moment before the other bloodline would adapt and push back with equal force.

As this push and pull continued, Xiang Yu felt his anxiety spike.

He had done his best to ensure the bloodlines remained perfectly balanced and didn’t want either to become weaker than the other, as it would defeat the entire purpose of the fusion.

Fortunately for him, the bloodlines proved remarkably resilient and easily adapted to match their opponent’s strength. Although it seemed he had made some miscalculations when trying to balance out the bloodlines initially, the bloodlines themselves possessed incredible adaptability.

They were able to readjust themselves automatically as they fought for dominance.

Xiang Yu finally allowed himself to relax as the violent pushing and counter-pushing between the bloodlines gradually died down. They had become evenly matched once again. But even while perfectly balanced, they still continued their feud with even greater intensity than before.

When Xiang Yu’s body destruction and regeneration finally slowed down enough that he wasn’t being instantly torn apart anymore, he could finally analyze the changes that had happened.

[Bloodline: Dragon, Phoenix: Noble Blood (500/10,000)]

[Spiritual Root: Sacred-Grade Omni-Element (500/5000)]

As he examined his status screen, he also noticed that his spiritual root had finally gained experience points once again. Well, it was supposed to start after the next reset, but he didn’t mind getting it early. Not to mention it had started with an insane five hundred points.

Even without any additional bonuses, he estimated he could breakthrough to the divine level in just four days.

Moving on to the main event – his bloodlines.

First, he felt a twinge of disappointment when he noticed they were still ranked as mythical tier. He sighed deeply. “It seems divine rank is simply too high,” he thought to himself.

Still, he estimated that his bloodlines were now at the absolute peak of mythic rank. At least there shouldn’t be any stronger bloodlines within the same tier. He thought to himself that he would figure out how to push them to divine rank later.

For now though, he needed to see what benefits this upgrade had brought him.

Since the fusion and the bloodline upgrade had happened at the same time, it was quite difficult to judge how well some of the abilities had integrated. The effects could be from either the fusion process or the natural bloodline advancement. Still, some changes were easier to identify, like the abilities from the shadow wolf and the golden turtle.

Starting with his phoenix bloodline, first came the usual benefits. He received a significant boost in enlightenment, along with improved learning ability. He also gained enhanced stealth capabilities, especially when flying.

He also received a remarkable flight optimization which included things like increased flight speed and aerial maneuverability, enhanced sight, decreased qi consumption, increased qi recovery and other optimizations that made his movements during flight feel effortless.

Of course, he couldn’t forget the usual boost in fire affinity. This time, his fire affinity was enhanced even more than before.

Surprisingly, he also received resistance to yin energy. He assumed this probably came from the frost wolf’s ice resistance ability. He hadn’t expected it to adjust so well after the fusion, this was definitely useful.

After the fire affinity upgrade, he experienced a strange new sensation. He recognized the feeling – it was similar to his void domain inside his soul space. That’s right, he had gained a fire domain.

Though this wasn’t the same as how he could summon the void domain directly from his soul, and it required him to use it like a normal domain ability instead, it was still an incredible addition to his arsenal nonetheless.

And lastly, his regeneration ability. After the upgrade, his healing had reached such an advanced level that it was now completely instantaneous. Even more interesting, with this boost in regeneration combined with the phoenix form’s natural fluidity, he could now readjust his body structure easily without having to actively stimulate his regeneration ability.

To test this new ability, flames suddenly appeared below Xiang Yu’s arm and instantly solidified into a fully functional limb, complete with all normal functionality. He then dismissed it mentally, and it transformed back into flames before dissipating completely. Though he didn’t have any immediate need for this ability except for accelerating his clone creation process, Xiang Yu believed it might prove useful in unexpected situations later on.

Speaking of transformations, he remembered that he could already shift into his full phoenix and dragon forms after breaking through to true blood level. Still, he didn’t see much need for complete transformation at the moment.

When he took his dragon form, some of his phoenix abilities became slightly weaker, and the reverse happened when he used phoenix form. Although the reduction wasn’t significant enough to create major problems, it was still enough for Xiang Yu to avoid using the transformations since they didn’t provide any meaningful advantages.

He remained at his most optimal condition while in human form.

Well, actually, he preferred his soul form and also felt it might have the greatest potential in combat situations. But creating that form required too much concentration and effort to reshape his physical body properly… He suddenly paused as a realization struck him. Now that his regeneration ability had upgraded and he could readjust his body more easily, he should be able to accomplish this transformation now, right?

A/N: Okay so I forgot to explain this earlier. He gained the transformations for both bloodlines at true blood level. This is why he didn’t use them.
