After happily whizzing around in the air for a while, An Lin was starting to feel a little tired.
He was still a complete novice at Sword Kinesis Flight.
But he could already be considered to have reached the intermediate level in Brick Kinesis Flight!
An Lin’s return was met by the gazes of all his group members.
They could only express the utmost level of admiration toward An Lin for his ability to somehow get this hyped up just from flying around on such an ugly brick.
An Lin shook his wind-tousled hair back and forth with a smile on his face. “Are the bird eggs ready?”
Xiao Chou nodded. “They’re all cooked. Let’s have one each first, that way there will be two left over for anyone who wants a second serving.”
Each egg was as big as a watermelon, so it should definitely be enough for one person.
But there could be some in the group that were especially fond of the eggs, in which case they would just have to split the last two between them.
An Lin grabbed an egg for himself, the eggshell still scorching hot from being cooked.
He gently peeled away the eggshell on the upper half of the egg, revealing the translucent, soft egg white underneath.
The light, aromatic scent of eggs wafted into his nose, dramatically increasing his appetite.
He immediately bit down onto the egg white and a sweet taste exploded onto the tip of his tongue, coupled with the fresh and soft texture of the egg white!
“Ah… delicious!”
An Lin couldn’t help but express his praise out loud, before digging in with renewed vigor.
Soon, he had reached the yolk.
A strong aromatic scent wafted up from the golden yolk.
An Lin took a bite to find that the yolk had the texture and taste of roasted meat, which instantly enveloped the tip of his tongue.
The scent of eggs coupled with that of roasted meat created an extremely strong aroma. These eggs were truly at the pinnacle of culinary delicacies!
This was… simply far too delicious!
The five people along with one monkey all chomped down happily, demolishing their respective eggs in no time.
Then, their gazes all fell on the remaining two eggs.
All of their eyes were alight with a scorching desire.
That’s right, they hadn’t had enough!
Everyone looked at each other at the same time.
They knew that they’d have to fight for the eggs!
“I’m the smallest here and clearly in lack of nutrients. This is exactly the age where I should be growing, so could everyone spare me an egg?” Miao Tian blinked her big watery eyes at everyone, hoping to tug at everyone’s heartstrings with her pitiable display.
Zong Yongyan laughed coldly and retorted whilst flapping his fan. “Student Miao, you’re already fully-grown, there’s no way you can grow taller even if you eat more. How about we do this in a way that makes sense, through a game of idioms, and the winner gets an egg?”
Luo Ziping, who was not very knowledgable, immediately stated his objections. “F*ck your idiom game, food should be rationed according to need. I’m the tallest one here, one egg is nowhere near enough to fill my stomach, so I need another one!”
Sun Shenglian curled her lips slightly in contempt. “I have the biggest breasts here, so you should all listen to me! I must have one of the remaining eggs!”
Miao Tian: “…”
Zong Yongyan: “…”
Luo Ziping: “…”
Hence, the four of them all fell into a battle of words, each of them presenting their own case.
But after a short while of bickering, they still couldn’t reach a verdict.
Thus, they shifted their gazes onto An Lin.
Miao Tian: “You’re the team leader, why aren’t you saying anything? Do you have any ideas on how to distribute the eggs?”
The corners of An Lin’s lips lifted slightly as he wiped away the drool flowing from his mouth.
He proposed with a smile on his face. “I think the ownership of the two eggs should be decided based on combat strength, this is the best way possible.”
Xiao Chou immediately raised both hands in the air. “I agree!”
Both man and monkey exchanged a look with a sly smile on their faces.
Miao Tian and the others all felt a shiver go down their spines as their pupils contracted.
…
Thump thump thump… Bang bang bang… Clatter clatter clatter… Puff puff puff…
Beside the fire, four of the team members lay on the ground, their faces battered and bruised.
Tears welled up in Miao Tian’s eyes as she sniveled quietly to herself. “I’ve never seen such a shameless person.”
Zong Yongyan’s face was twisted in anger. “F*ck, he’s a Neanderthal, this was something that could’ve been resolved through words, why insist on combat!?”
Sun Shenglian looked at An Lin with disgust on her face. “I can’t believe I have a team leader like him…”
Luo Ziping massaged his sore muscles with a determined expression on his face. “I have to break through to the Spirit Nurturing Stage as soon as possible, then I can exact my revenge!”
Compared to the resentment the four of them exhibited, An Lin and Xiao Chou were having a second serving of eggs with elation on both their faces. They were thoroughly enjoying life!
The eggs were so delicious!
…
Morning came and everyone set off once again.
This time, they were mostly focused on hunting Six-Winged Birds and Gale Sword Birds.
The reason for that… hehe, it was pretty obvious, wasn’t it?
Searching for exotic food had become the main source of joy for An Lin and his group during this end-of-year trial.
However, bird type mutant beasts were quite difficult to encounter, so they didn’t have very high hopes.
Rip!
A gigantic butterfly was sliced in half by An Lin, green juices pouring out of the two halves of its carcass.
Everyone collectively furrowed their brows. This mutant beast… was clearly not going to be good to eat!
Thus, An Lin and his group continued onwards in their journey, going deeper into the mountains.
Bam!
Xiao Chou bludgeoned a red unicorn to death with one blow of his staff.
The group surveyed the unicorn’s strong and muscular carcass, before nodding unanimously in agreement.
This mutant beast… could be eaten!
Thus, the unicorn was stowed away into An Lin’s storage ring.
…
All the soldiers trailing behind An Lin and his group had tears flowing down their faces.
That unicorn was a rare species amongst mutant beasts, its carcass was very valuable!
They wanted to carry the carcass back for themselves, but it was unfortunately taken by An Lin…
…
“Hey, you guys, in the Myriad Mountain Realm, there is a mutant beast by the name of the Rainbow Cow. Not only does its flesh have an exquisite texture, but you could also taste seven different types of flavors from it, just as its name suggests.” Xiao Chou announced excitedly.
Everyone involuntarily swallowed whilst listening to Xiao Chou’s words, a scorching desire appearing in all of their eyes.
An Lin: “Xiao Chou, the Rainbow Cow you’re referring to, which area do they usually appear in?”
Xiao Chou pointed toward the southwest direction. “As far as I know, the Hilly Lands of The Wind in the southwest direction is known for Rainbow Cow sightings, but I’ve never been there. It’s around three hundred kilometers from here.”
“Three hundred kilometers?” An Lin furrowed his brows. At the pace that they were progressing, it might take two or three days to get there.
But he didn’t want to wait that long, such a delicacy was awaiting him, it was too much torture for him to even wait a single day!
So, he brought out his brick.
“Expand, expand, expand…”
The black brick floated in mid-air, continuously expanding in size at An Lin’s instructions, finally expanding to become a huge brick of five square meters in surface area.
“Come on! Get on here!” He gestured to everyone.
A glint appeared in everyone’s eyes as they all leaped onto the floating brick.
The brick was a little ugly, but it could certainly carry a lot of people with its massive surface area.
An Lin laughed boisterously as he too leaped onto the brick and began to cast a Light Concealment Spell.
Having passengers would require a much greater expenditure of vital energy, but he had plenty of energy restoring pills so that wasn’t a problem.
“Let’s go!”
An Lin yelled loudly as the brick began to tremble before rising into the air and flying quickly toward the Hilly Lands of The Wind in the southwest.
However, An Lin and his group seemed to be forgetting something.
…
A bunch of armor-clad soldiers looked on in silence at the giant black brick disappearing into the distance.
Soldier One: “Did we just get abandoned?”
Soldier Two: “We’re only small fry, so it isn’t out of the ordinary for them to forget about us.”
Soldier Three: “Why do I feel like they did this intentionally?”
Soldier Four: “I want to cry…”
Soldier Five: “So… what do we do now?”
Soldier Six: “…”
