I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

Chapter 1044

Chapter 1044: Flipping the Tables

That’s right, Lan Xiaoni had already mentally prepared herself for the worst possible outcomes.

Anyone would be in despair in the face of An Lin’s terrifying strength.

An Lin unleashed his Divine Inspection Technique to inspect the red bone in his hand.

[Deceased Emperor Bone: This is the essential dao bone of the Dao Integration Stage Deceased Emperor of the West Sea. It contains the extreme intent realm and essential power of death and is a divine-rank material.]

An Lin’s hand trembled lightly.

Holy f*ck… This was the dao bone of a Dao Integration Stage super mighty figure!

Another divine-rank material!

A bold thought suddenly appeared in his mind.

He now had three divine rank materials. If the rest of the materials were also divine rank, then couldn’t he use these materials to try and create a divine-rank weapon?

A divine-rank weapon…

An Lin was extremely excited at the thought of this.

This was a plausible idea!

The Xi Haizi statue unleashed the balls of light again, of which there were only three and were black, white, and blue.

“Fated ones, you can choose to continue and obtain more of our treasures.”

An Lin thought for a moment before choosing the blue ball of light.

Lan Xiaoni also picked the blue ball of light with an obedient expression on her face.

The Xi Haizi statue gave another elated smile. “You really are a harmonious couple. There is no need for words. It’s as if you can read each other’s minds! And the man has learned to give presents to the woman. That is very helpful for improving your relationship. I approve!”

An Lin almost flared up and attacked this idiot of a statue.

Why did this statue talk so much sh*t? It was like a nosy middle-aged woman!

If it weren’t for the fact that this was only a talking statue and An Lin couldn’t be bothered dealing with statues, this thing would have been reduced to a pile of dust a long time ago.

The blue ball of light expanded to enshroud the two of them.

Space transformed again.

An extremely terrifying pressure suddenly swept toward them.

An Lin’s expression shifted, and he instinctively unleashed his vital energy to form a suit of armor around his body.

Lan Xiaoni was quite accustomed to this sort of pressure. Not only did she not unleash a spell technique to defend herself against it, but instead, she was feeling quite elated, as if she were welcoming an old friend.

Her blue eyes lit up with a hint of surprise and excitement. “We’ve arrived at the bottom of the ocean?”

An Lin looked around at their pitch-black surroundings and sensed the insane water pressure sweeping toward him before nodding his head. “Looks like we have indeed. From this water pressure, I’d say we’re about fifty thousand kilometers deep?”

Lan Xiaoni nodded. “About fifty-three thousand and sixty meters deep.”

She was a mermaid, so she was naturally more sensitive toward the ocean.

Lan Xiaoni pointed in a certain direction before inquiring in a careful voice, “The… the water pressure increases in that direction. Can we go have a look over there?”

An Lin found it quite funny that the mermaid princess didn’t have any backbone even after arriving at the bottom of the ocean, but he still nodded. “Let’s go.”

An Lin swam in the direction Lan Xiaoni was pointing in, and they encountered a few sea monsters along the way, but all of them were taken care of by Lan Xiaoni before they even had a chance to approach them.

An Lin made an evaluation to discover that Lan Xiaoni was more powerful in all aspects at the bottom of the ocean. This was probably an advantageous environment for her.

After advancing for a short while, a white palace appeared in their field of vision. The palace had a round dome constructed from white jade and supported by stone pillars, upon which were carved intricate divine fish. The entire palace was pristine white and flawless and was very pleasing to the eye.

“Could it be that the treasure monster is in this palace?”

An Lin’s interest was piqued, and he opened the palace gate.

However, the scene presented to him after opening the gate was completely different from what he had expected!

There was a blue restrictive barrier positioned before him, upon which faint ripples surged.

Beyond the barrier was a wooden bridge that stretched into the extremely far distance.

A vast expanse of bottomless, eerie darkness lay around the bridge, and there were a series of hovering round boards positioned along the sides of the palace, upon which stood several dozen sea monsters of different shapes and forms, each of them holding weapons.

“You certainly can’t judge a book by its cover!” An Lin was a little surprised.

From the exterior, the palace was at the very most only about a thousand feet in size. However, just that wooden bridge alone was in excess of ten thousand feet in length.

“Perhaps this palace is an independent mystic realm.” Lan Xiaoni made her way forward and laid a hand on the blue barrier. She found out that the blue barrier was like a barrier of water, which she could easily pass through.

“Hmm? Is this a wall of water?” An Lin also made his way toward the barrier.

Boom!

An Lin’s body crashed into the barrier, and he was knocked back a couple of steps.

Lan Xiaoni turned to look at An Lin with a dazed expression.

An Lin was also a little dazed.

He launched a fist toward the barrier.

Boom!

An Lin was sent back a few steps by a powerful force again while the barrier remained completely unscathed.

An Lin: “…”

Lan Xiaoni: “…”

Lan Xiaoni’s eyes widened. “You can’t come in?”

An Lin took a deep breath as a white light flashed through his eyes.

Divine Inspection Technique!

Terrifyingly dense walls of energy appeared before his eyes, stacked in layers on top of one another to create an indestructible barrier.

An Lin was shocked. This wasn’t some spell formation. This was just a barrier of pure energy!

This was a pure defensive spell technique that An Lin could do nothing about.

Lan Xiaoni’s eyes lit up at the sight of An Lin’s vexed expression. “Could it be… that only creatures with regal blood like mine have the right to enter this place?”

An Lin’s expression darkened. “Be careful of what you say!”

Lan Xiaoni smiled for the first time. Her smile was so vibrant and so elated.

“Hahaha… That’s what you get, An Lin! This is fate!”

She placed her hands on her hips with an extremely excited and smug expression.

“The treasure is mine this time?

“I’ve waited for so long, and now, I’ve finally got a chance to turn the tables!

“High Priest, Father, Big Brother, Little Brother, and all of my Spirit Fish Clan brethren, I have not let you down!

“Hahaha… Hahaha…”

Lan Xiaoni laughed happily before humming a Spirit Fish Clan song. “Everyone is so happy today! Lalalala…”

An Lin stared at her with shock on his face. “Did she… just go insane?”

How aggrieved must she have felt for her to be so happy now?!

Lan Xiaoni laughed for a long time before she got it all out of her systems and waved at An Lin. “This is life, An Lin! I’m off to take the treasure now. Bye-bye.”

Lan Xiaoni turned and left as she spoke.

An Lin wore a resigned expression. He didn’t see any way around this.

This barrier wasn’t a Soul Formation Stage barrier or the Return to Void Stage barrier, it was a Dao Integration Stage barrier! In other words, this was designed by the High Priest of the Spirit Fish Clan solely for the purpose of giving his successors an advantage here!

What Lan Xiaoni had said about regal blood wasn’t exactly incorrect…

What could An Lin do? He was in despair!

However, he still had a sliver of hope.

A faint smile appeared on his face as Lan Xiaoni continued into the palace.
