Chapter 1996 - 24.257 Sixth Violet Star - The Dwarfs’ Decision
Chapter 1996: 24.257 Sixth Violet Star - The Dwarfs’ Decision
Learning about these low leveled elementals being summoned by someone to find him, the possibility of another elf trying to find him is big which made him worried. After all, he was indeed found by these little ones. If that is real then, these little ones cannot stay. After all, for the sake of his family and new tribe, he cannot let them be in danger because of him. The Elemental Emperor of the wind, Greene, seems to feel the danger from her master’s eye and was about to stop her master from harming the little ones.
However, before he could make a move, a red string flew towards them and took the young elementals within Lord Vega’s grasp.
A voice said, "Don’t be too violent. These little ones are only following orders."
Lord Vega and the Elemental Emperor of the Wind immediately turned to the source of the voice and saw two men standing side by side. The former elf king and his elemental immediately calmed down seeing who it was. The two subordinates of the two princes of the beastmen race. Though only the upper echelon of their tribe knew the existence of these two wardens, they knew how powerful these two are. They might even be more powerful than the two mythical guardian beasts that live in the ancient forest.
Lord Vega immediately turned respectful before the presence of the two wardens, even the Elemental Emperor of the wind, Greene, had lowered her head before the two wardens.
"Vega greets Lord Lou and Lord Yun!"
"Don’t be nervous. The reason we are looking for you is to inform you that the current Marshal is most likely not human." Warden Yun Ming said while comforting the two little wind elementals.
Chief Warden Lou said, "We were sent here to escort you back after you finished what you wanted to do. As for the dwarfs, if they are willing to become a vassal of the Beastmen race, we will protect them as our own."
The former elf king Vega didn’t expect that the two princes would be willing to accept the dwarfs under their protection. It can be said that being a vassal of the beastmen race meant they would be under the beastmen royalty but their standing is no different than other beastmen. They would be a part of their tribe and their protection would be under their masters.
Warden Yun Ming added, "If you are willing, your elven race can also receive their protection. The only question is whether the elves will be willing to become someone’s vassal."
"..."
As the former elf king who was exiled by his own kin, he didn’t have any right to make decisions for them. Likewise, the standing of the dwarfs will only be decided by their king, which is Dwarf King Garan.
Chief Warden Lou Wuye said, "We will be watching and protecting you in the shadows. Do as you will. However, you must immediately escape if you meet the new human marshal."
"Yes," responded Lord Vega.
When he raised his head from his salute, the two had already disappeared. Even the elemental emperor of the wind, Greene, cannot sense them anymore.
Lord Vega asked, "They’ve left already? How did they do it?"
{Please don’t ask me. I also didn’t know where the two lords had disappeared to?} The elemental emperor of the wind, Greene, said.
Obviously, she was terrified by the presence of those two beginnings. Unlike the gentle aura that she is used to in the spirit realm, the aura of the two were full of eerie qi maybe because their blessings from the god of destruction and the sovereign god of void and darkness was too powerful for sensitive beings of this world. The aborigin felt overwhelmed by their presence alone.
Lord Vega asked, "Greene, are you afraid of them?"
{Master, it’s you guys who are strange. How can you easily speak with beings of such standing. Based on their auras alone they are even stronger than our Elemental God Thorn.} The Elemental Emperor of the wind, Greene said.
"Who among them possessed the most suffocating aura for you?" The former elf king asked.
Greene honestly gave her answer, "The two beastmen princes. Especially the youngest."
Lord Vega didn’t seem surprised by this answer and felt that what his elemental, Greene, had said was real. After all, those two princes were indeed too out of this world. An ethereal presence that feels that they exist yet the world doesn’t mesh with them properly.
—
After a while later, the dwarfs had invited Lord Vega for another meeting again. Since the king wasn’t feeling well, the meeting location is still at his room where he is confined. Aside from the king, the prime minister and the group of elder dwarfs had gathered as well. As for the young princes and the young princess, they are not around. The current business is for the adults to decide for. The former elf king was invited to a seat in front of the other group.
"Thank you for coming to see us again, Lord Vega." Dwarf King Garan said. "We would like to thank you for your help. If there is something we can do for you, please tell us anything."
Lord Vega expected that they would ask him to help them seek for the protection of the beastmen race behind him. But it seems that the resources that he had provided was enough for them to survive thinking they don’t need him further. Seeing them acting like this they look at them coldly with a sarcastic smile on his face.
Upon seeing him reacting this way, Dwarf King Garan felt even more guilt than anything else. But this isn’t something he can decide alone, the other dwarf elders because of what happened with the elves, they aren’t able to fully trust Lord Vega. He is after all still an elf in their eyes. Maybe clouded by hatred or something else, they decided to not get involved with him any further.
They might feel bad about this decision of sending them away but since the decision was made, it is no longer in the hands of Garan what Vega wanted to do next.
The former elf king said, "There is actually something I wanted to ask you about. Princess Shika and that boy, Prince Gallian, was it? I wanted to invite them back to the Ancient Forest. I wonder if that is alright with you, Garan?"
His eyes only landed on Garan, ignoring all other people’s gaze on him. Dwarf King Garan seems to understand something. As a father himself, he wanted his children to be in the safest place. Clearly, the ancient forest protected by the beastmen race is safe compared to the underground.
Thinking of this, Dwarf King Garan said, "Is it possible for the others to come with you?"
"Only children will be welcomed openly by the beastmen, and you, of course." Lord Vega responded. "Gather those who you wanted to leave with me. I will wait only for half a day before I leave. Once you finish your business you can come pick them up at the ancient forest yourself."
The former elf king didn’t ask the dwarfs if they wanted to become a vassal of the Beastmen race. Just the fact that they do not trust him to come as their representative meant they had never thought of putting themselves lower than he is. Thinking of this, it is useless to ask questions that no longer matter.
He stood up and prepared to leave, "As for the matter of compensation, you can repay it when you pick your children."
"Thank you, Lord Vega and... I’m sorry," Dwarf King Garan said.
Lord Vega didn’t linger in the room after hearing these words, he walked out of the room and waited at the open field where he can openly speak with the two lords watching the whole thing. As soon as he left another room of discussion resounds in the room. However, it no longer had anything to do with them.
—
At the open area, outside the main building...
Lord Vega leaned by the nearby tree and his elemental had once again appeared. She actually turned herself invisible as her master left to meet those dwarfs again.
{These ungrateful small people! After saving them, they are burning bridges!} Elemental Emperor of the Wind, Greene complained.
The former elf king was calm instead, "Maybe because I am an elf, they do not trust me. However, that is no longer my problem. It is just that this decision of theirs made them unsuitable to become a vassal of my tribe. They are no longer worth it."
A voice rings near the ears of the two, it’s the familiar voices of the two wardens who were protecting them from the shadows.
Chief Warden Lou Wuye said, {You have done well. These kinds of beings aren’t worth protecting.}
{You choice to try saving the children is also a good move. It would make the beastmen race uncomfortable if more children died in this chaos and they aren’t able to save them at all. Don’t worry about your way to return. I will do something and help you return to the Ancient Forest through teleportation.} Warden Yun Ming said.
As the aide of the God of Destruction, he had a lot of scrolls of teleportation at hand. This is so he easily looks for his master and returns to his duties whenever he leaves the Nether Prison for a stroll. With a bit of modification, it is enough for them to use it to teleport a whole group in a certain location.
Lord Vega said, "Then I will leave it to the lords."
