Hearing the name Vera had brought a lot of old memories for the former elf king, Lord Vega. During the times when he was still the king of elves, Vera, this closest friend of his, was his greatest support. He is the son of the great elder and possessed the strongest affinity with elements after him. It can be said that if Vega had decided to abdicate his throne at that time, Vera would fit the most to take over his role. That’s why Vega couldn’t understand why the useless Valerian had taken the throne after he left. Now it seems that Vera had chosen not to take over.
Lord Vega thought that maybe after helping him and Heri, Vera was punished but only for a while. Who would have that the great elder was killed and that Vera was imprisoned for a long time. The underground water prison is the worst kind of prison within the Elven Territory. It was located under the largest tree and it is a place that is enclosed without any location for light to slip into. In short, it is a dark place full of water and too quiet. One would have gone insane or become depressed in that place. However, if one possessed a strong will, they would be able to survive. This place is also one of the trial grounds for an Elven King. Though Valerian, this parachute elf king hadn’t experienced such a trial.
According to the record, only former elf king Vega and this prisoner, Elf Vera are capable of living in this underground, water prison.
As soon as Vega approaches a certain dark area in this water dungeon, a voice resounds.
This voice said, "You shouldn’t have returned here, Lord Vega."
"If I didn’t come back to check, would you continue to stay in such a place? Let’s go. Go back to the surface, Vera." The former elf king, Vega said.
Vera responded, "I am not going to the surface. At the very least not right now. After my father’s death, a lot of things which we used to not notice had started popping out. Your majesty, the clan is with too many holes created by those parasites. To allow all traitors to come out, letting Valerian be our way of doing so. As long as I am imprisoned in this place, those guys would come out. When the time that those traitors had all come out that will be the time I will come out."
"What if when you come out what welcomes you is only destruction?" Former elf king Vega asked.
Vera chuckled and said, "Without destruction there will be no end and no beginning. Your majesty, please live your life as you wish. I will take care of the rest. But if I ever need help in the future, will you lend me help?"
"I will. As long as you call for me, I will help you. Like when you help me and Heri escape from here." Lord Vega made a promise.
Vera said, "Then that is enough. There will definitely be a time I will ask for your majesty’s help."
"I am no longer your king. Call me by my name," said the former elf king, Vega.
Vera said, "Alright, Lord Vega."
That was the last time Lord Vega had spoken with Vera. All this time, after this conversation, news about Vera started to get sparse. Even though Vega didn’t choose to return to that water dungeon for the second time, he had always believed that Vera was alright. That was until Valerian, the new enthroned elf king at that time, had announced some deaths of his kin. Among the ones on the list is the name of the former great elder and Vera’s name. That’s why all this time, Lord Vega thought that Vera had longed to die.
The former elf king, Vega looked at his mate, the prophet Heri and said, "I had given him a promise before. As thanks for helping us escape that day, I had said I would lend him a hand as long as he asked for it."
"Go ahead. It is indeed time to repay our debts," Prophet Heri said.
Some elders weren’t so keen to let their guardian leave. However, since the prophet had spoken, they didn’t say a word against him. Though the worry on their faces cannot be easily ignored.
Lord Vega, the current guardian of the Ancient Forest had spoken, after watching the other’s reaction.
He said, "Do not be worried about my temporary leaving. Our tribe didn’t only have me as the guardian. Our esteemed guest promised to help us three times, if something happens while I am away you can ask our guest for help. Even if he doesn’t lend help, there is someone else who would help us. Prince Hei and Prince Ye would never leave our clan unprotected. Since they left without a word, that means everything on our side is prepared. Believe in them."
The beastmen race looked at one another and felt instant relief when they thought of their two princes. Though it was unknown where they had gone to, they were never worried that something would have happened to them.
Prophet Heri suddenly fell in his thoughts as he was about to dismiss the meeting. When suddenly a certain scene appeared in his mind. It was the scene of the new marshal trying to lead the human race in destroying the ancient forest. However this time, it wasn’t only the beastmen who had appeared. The dwarfs and some elves had come to defend the forest as well. This signifies that Lord Vega had successfully saved the two races and that he had returned alive to his side.
The problem is that this dream seems to be unstable. It seems that the more time they waste without saving the two races, the more of those from their side die. Thinking of this, the moment he opened his eyes to reality, the worried eyes of his mate had welcomed him.
Former elf king Vega asked, "Wife, are you alright? Why would you faint suddenly like that? Should I summon the witch doctor?"
"No need. I am alright. I just saw something," said Prophet Heri.
He looked at his mate smiling, Lord Vega was bewildered at first but upon being with his beloved most of the time, he knew when what Heri saw was a good news or a bad one. Seeing him smiling like this, it seems that his mission this time had good results. As long as he doesn’t let his guard down, he should be alright when he comes out with the Dwarf Prince Gillian.
"Will my mission this time be a success?" Former elf king Vega asked.
Prophet Heri nodded his head and said, "Yes... But you mustn’t waste anymore time. As more time passes, the more of them die."
Upon hearing this prophecy, Dwarf Prince Gillian’s face turned pale as he thought of his clan which is on the verge of extinction. Though the first half of the news was good, the latter half made him extremely worried. After all, the prophecy made by the exalted person before him was never wrong.

"If so then we should hurry and leave now! I will lead you the whole way. There are some routes secretly created by my race. Though some of it had been broken by the new marshal due to the traitor of the race, not all of the passage was known to that traitor." Dwarf Prince Gillian said.
Former elf king Vega asked, "I thought that your race worked together to create those panels. How come you have routes that were unknown from the alliance?"
"Please don’t look at me like that. These routes were recently made. With most of the hidden route being blocked by the new marshal, We can only secretly create one. But on their way back, most of them were caught and killed to protect the secret routes." Prince of the Dwarf race, Gillian, grips his hands as he recalls the days of those uncles of his happily drinking and making artifacts in happiness.
But everything had changed after the new marshal was enthroned. Maybe everything was destined to change the moment Gu Ying had become the new marshal. It’s just that it is hard for people to believe that the hero who had almost lost his life in the borderland before the reinforcement had arrived happens to be the traitor who wanted to destroy the alliance from within.
What made it worse, is that after Gu Ying had become the new marshal, most humans were on his side. This is because in their eyes, he is now the new ruler that can lead and protect their race. With all of these humans under his supposed protection (control), it would be hard to convince the human race that their new marshal was just another traitor like the deceased Mu Liao.
