Chapter 108 - Yun Xiangxiang’s Hobby
Chapter 108: Yun Xiangxiang’s Hobby
Their basic info would be perused by Yun Xiangxiang before being hired by her. The date of their birth was musts in their info. However, not many people would notice that. They wouldn’t really keep it in mind even if they took a look at it.
“What about my birthday?” Song Qian turned her head and asked.
“Yours is on the eighteenth of March,” Yun Xiangxiang spilled it out right after she spoke. “I remembered them by heart. I know all of your birthdays.”
They were people that were going to follow her after all. Each and every one of them took great care of her and helped her. Even if she did pay them money, she still liked to treat them with all her heart.
“Ai Li likes cream cakes. Don’t add stuff like fruit candies, fruits, oatmeal, or taro.” The edges of Song Qian’s lips unconsciously curved up.
“Okay, okay,” Yun Xiangxiang gestured 👌. She then glanced at Coco who was trailing behind and got close to Song Qian before whispering, “When’s Song Mian’s birthday?”
Song Qian raised her eyebrow and gave Yun Xiangxiang a glance of significance, “Go and ask him yourself.”
“Are we good friends? Tell me his birthday fast,” Yun Xiangxiang pretended to be angry.
Would she even need to ask Song Qian if she could ask Song Mian?
She could if it was in the past. But naturally it would be embarrassing if she asked him now since their relationship had changed.
“The sixth of June,” Song Qian chuckled teasingly.
Yun Xiangxiang ignored her laugh, “Lunar or Gregorian?”
“Lunar,” Song Qian didn’t beat about the bush this time.
She whipped out her phone and quickly flipped the calendar to next year. Yun Xiangxiang made a note on the sixth of June of the lunar calendar.
Song Qian who wanted to make fun of Yun Xiangxiang stopped when she saw that she didn’t just make one note. She even made one on the eighteenth of March before she flipped, “I thought…”
“Thought what?” Yun Xiangxiang rolled her eyes. “You thought I only made a note for Song Mian’s birthday?”
Song Qian nodded.
Yun Xiangxiang kept her phone before saying, “Song Mian isn’t the only important person in my life. I still have my dad, my mum, my brothers, and you guys. His life should be the same. He may become someone that I can’t go without, but he will never be the only one that I can’t live without.”
Love was truly important; but it couldn’t be everything.
Parents were the ones who brought us to this world. They should be the first ones to thank.
Siblings were the ones that were by our side when we were growing up. They should be thanked next.
Good friends and colleagues were in our lives during study or work.
A meeting with love added one more person that touched our hearts and sweetened our lives.
Any one of these couldn’t be missing from a complete and vibrant life. She wasn’t a woman who would let go of everything just for love.
But even so, the attention that went into preparing the gifts for them would be absolutely different.
She didn’t need to say that out loud to rub it in their single faces though.
Song Qian stopped at a cake shop that accepted customization orders. She liked the flavors available here.
Yun Xiangxiang looked around to check whether there were any crowds. She wore a baseball cap and entered with her head lowered once the coast was clear.
Exquisite cakes sat within the glass cabinets. There was something that Yun Xiangxiang adored but no one knew: cakes.
She dreamed about having a cake even in her sleep during her previous life. She did have the money to buy them later on, but her body would get fat easily. Unlike the current one.
Wen Lan was different from He Wei. She was spartan about her diet. Wen Lan would have her go on the scale once every few days!
She didn’t even have the chance to sneak any snacks. Now she could finally let loose. “Give me this, this, this…”
Yun Xiangxiang jabbed at seven or eight slices of cake. “I want all of them. Having here.”
“Xiangxiang, I don’t like sweet stuff…” Coco hastily expressed.
“Hmph! I’ll eat them all by myself. It’s a piece of cake [1],” Yun Xiangxiang had great faith in herself.
“Order anything you want. It’s on me. Everything here is mine,” Yun Xiangxiang gouged another piece of cake with her fork.
Song Qian’s lips twitched. She went past Yun Xiangxiang and ordered a cup of coffee before sitting down with Coco.
Yun Xiangxiang closed her eyes in enjoyment when she sent the cake into her mouth. She indulged in the softness, fluffiness, and the pleasant sweetness that fluttered on her taste buds.
Rays of sunshine happened to sprinkle upon the young lady behind the french windows. Her face of unparalleled beauty glittered with an eye catching golden hue. There was probably air conditioning indoors to brush her hair into a slight dance.
The gorgeous cake models around her became her background. They piece together into a picture of fantasy. Those who saw it felt that even the world became sweet.
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t hold back and treated these as lunch. She gulped down twelve slices of cakes within the couple of hours of waiting for the cake to be done!
They roughly added up to a whole six inch cake. That shocked Song Qian and Coco to the point where words failed them.
Coco was hesitating whether she should tell Brother Wei about this. It wasn’t good for actors to have things that were so dense in sugar and calories.
Song Qian also took her phone out to report this to Song Yao.
She wouldn’t simply divulge anything about Yun Xiangxiang’s private life. Song Mian had warned her about that. She wasn’t a CCTV.
But she didn’t need to be too uptight over harmless matters like this. She even snapped a few photos of her.
Unbeknownst to Yun Xiangxiang, Weibo was in an uproar right now.
The reason was because a foodie blogger just so happened to be tasting some cakes at the table diagonally across from hers. He noticed her by chance. The foodie blogger only felt that Yun Xiangxiang looked familiar as he did not care much for stars or entertainment news. He couldn’t recognize her.
He then captured a few of Yun Xiangxiang’s photos before uploading it to his blog and commented: Perhaps it is because of her beauty; when I look at her, I suddenly crave for cakes.
Fortunately or unfortunately, some of the blogger’s followers were also Yun Xiangxiang’s fans. They immediately reposted it to their own Weibo.
“Ah…, come gather around and look at Sister Xiang who’s having cakes!”
That immediately attracted a huge wave of Yun Xiangxiang’s fans.
Blue skies and sunshine; dreamy shop windows and enchanting cakes. And the little fairy that was having them.
[It’s sweet, it’s sweet. Today’s really sweet for some reason]
[A whole table of cakes. Is Sister Xiang serious?]
[Scraping her plate; puffing her cheeks. Oh dear, she’s so adorable, my nose is bleeding]
[This place…it’s not far from where I am. I’ll go there now]
[Take me there, the one above me]
[Please take me there!!!!]
Yun Xiangxiang was having her final slice when her phone rang. It was Song Meng, “Xiangxiang, if you don’t want to get blocked by your fans, you still have time if you leave now.”
“???”
Yun Xiangxiang knew that something must have happened even if she didn’t understand what Song Meng meant. She wiped her mouth with a tissue, “Is the cake done? If it is, let’s get out of here fast.”
“It’s already done way back. We are just waiting on you,” Song Qian carried the cake that was already packaged.
Yun Xiangxiang dashed into her car after she paid her bills as fast as she could.
She only saw the link Song Meng shared when she opened WeChat after she was in her car.
She couldn’t help but howl, “A rare glimpse into a place of tranquility, ruined by the risk of being in the open.”
It didn’t just end there. The fans who didn’t block Yun Xiangxiang in time since she slipped away too fast turned their anguish into appetite. That morning, that cake shop sold everything they had in two hours.
[1] This is a very rare case where the English translation can make a pun where the original couldn’t. Essentially, Yun Xiangxiang was saying that it was not a problem for her to finish all those cakes. Since a piece of cake also means ‘easy,’ the translation became a double entendre where both meanings make sense.
