Chapter 197 - Fu Xinhan
Chapter 197: Fu Xinhan
Yuncheng, inside the mansion…
Shi Fang helped Song Fengwan carry her luggage upstairs. Qiao Aiyun asked him to stay for dinner, but he politely declined and left. Since Song Fengwan had arrived home, his task was considered complete.
Song Fengwan changed her clothes. Just as she went downstairs, she heard Qiao Aiyun call her over.
“Wanwan, go to the supermarket at the entrance of the community and buy some fruit juice and milk.”
“Okay.” Song Fengwan put on a down jacket and left.
Less than a minute after she went out, it started raining and snowing outside. The rain and snow fell to the ground and formed muddy slush. She was about to go back to get an umbrella when Yan Wangchuan came out with one.
“I’ll go with you.”
While Song Fengwan was still in a daze, he had already walked to her side with the umbrella and helped her block the rainy snow. “Let’s go.”
Song Fengwan nodded.
She had never been alone with Yan Wangchuan. He was tall, and his face was habitually cold. Standing beside her, he gave off a strong sense of oppression. It took around five minutes to walk to the supermarket at the entrance of the villa community. On the way, the two of them didn’t speak, and the atmosphere was cold.
When they reached the supermarket, they saw the milk piled up in the most conspicuous spot. Song Fengwan walked into the supermarket and grabbed a bottle of orange juice. Before she left, the phone in her pocket vibrated. It was an unknown number from Yuncheng.
She frowned slightly and hesitated for a moment before answering the call. “Hello?”
“Wanwan, it’s Dad…” Song Jingren sounded as though he was trying to please her.
Song Jingren had gone to the countryside in the afternoon to seek help. When he rushed back to Yuncheng, he had learned that Song Fengwan had taken an earlier flight and had already arrived home.
He was nearly driven crazy with anger.
He didn’t know why, but unlucky things were happening one after another recently. The bank had come to press him for his debts and had already issued an ultimatum. The people who used to flatter and bootlick him had all run away. He could only count on Song Fengwan now.
Otherwise, when the people from the bank came looking for him next Monday, they would announce the bankruptcy and liquidation of the company.
He had waited at the gates of the community and contended with the security guard for more than half an hour, but the latter refused to let him in.
When the security guard said that the owner didn’t agree, he was mad as hell. At that moment, it began raining and snowing. He was burning with anxiety when he happened to see Song Fengwan walk out of the community.
He secretly rejoiced that the heavens hadn’t abandoned him.
But when he took a closer look at the person beside her, he was scared out of his wits. Why is it him?
When Song Jingren saw the two walking side by side, his fury rose. She’s my daughter! Jealousy, anger, and embarrassment welled up in his heart, making him tremble from head to toe.
But he didn’t dare fight Yan Wangchuan head-on, so he could only call Song Fengwan.
Song Fengwan gripped the bottle of juice in her hand tightly. “Yes, what’s the matter?”
Her tone was ice-cold, without the slightest bit of warmth.
“Wanwan, I heard you went out to play and just came back.” He laughed flatteringly.
“I’m hanging up if there’s nothing else.” Song Fengwan felt disgusted just hearing his voice.
“Wait a minute. I’m at the guardhouse at the community gates. I bought you some of the palmier cookies you like. I know you don’t want to see me right now, so I’ll put the cookies here. You can take them home and eat them.”
He could only attack gently now. He couldn’t rush it.
Song Fengwan clutched the bottle of juice in her hand and was speechless for a long time.
“They were just baked. I’ve been holding them in my arms, so they’re still a little hot. I remember you could eat a few of these every time.
“Take them back and eat them. I just want to take a look at you from afar.”
Song Fengwan’s heart ached, but she still directly hung up.
Back when he schemed against her mother, people had even said that she wasn’t his biological daughter and that she was a bastard with an unknown father. They had used all kinds of vulgar and sordid words, but he hadn’t stood up to defend her at all. Why was he pretending to be a loving father now?
At the thought of this, she was ashamed, her body trembled, and tears nearly fell down her face.
She stood in front of the shelf and adjusted her emotions for a long time before turning to the cashier.
When she looked up, she saw Yan Wangchuan standing not far away. She didn’t know how long he had been watching her, but she hurriedly lowered her head and quickened her pace…
When the two walked out of the supermarket, Yan Wangchuan was carrying a carton of milk and holding the umbrella while Song Fengwan was carrying a big bottle of orange juice. When they passed by the guardhouse, she turned her head to take a look.
“What’s the matter?” Yan Wangchuan’s tone was as cold as usual.
“It’s nothing.” Song Fengwan smiled, shook her head, and walked into the community with him.
Song Jingren, who had been standing nearby the whole time, watched as Song Fengwan’s figure gradually disappeared. His eyes were red with anxiety.
That should be my spot.
My wife and daughter are mine!

When Song Fengwan and Yan Wangchuan returned home, she entered the entryway first. Under the bright light, she saw that half of Yan Wangchuan’s clothes were drenched, and even one side of his hair was dripping wet against his temples.
Her nose felt sore.
Ever since her family’s financial situation improved, Song Jingren had never gone out to shop personally, nor had he taken her to and from school. She had almost never experienced traveling with her father under an umbrella.
“Uncle Yan, take off your clothes. I’ll get you a towel.” Her eyes were wet as she ran to the bathroom.
Yan Wangchuan took off his clothes and hung them on the clothes rack in the entryway.
“Why are your clothes so wet?” Qiao Aiyun walked out of the kitchen in an apron and wiped the water off her hands. “They’ll have to be dried off.”
“He called Wanwan. Go and take a look.”
Qiao Aiyun’s body stiffened. “Thank you.”
“I said I would treat you two well.” His tone was solemn.
Qiao Aiyun’s eyes reddened slightly.

After dinner, the rain and snow outside gradually got heavier, so Yan Wangchuan stayed for the night. He and Qian Wangbei hadn’t played chess for a long time. They found a chess set and prepared to play a game in the living room.
Qiao Aiyun and Song Fengwan were in the kitchen tidying up.
“Auntie, I want to do my evening class. Where should I go?”
“Oh, you’re doing your homework. Take your things and go to the living room. The two uncles are there. If you don’t know how to do anything, ask them to teach you.” Qiao Aiyun reached out to stroke his head. “Why are you working so hard?”
Huai Sheng nodded.
Song Fengwan initially wanted to send him to the study, but unfortunately, Qiao Aiyun spoke quickly and didn’t give her a chance to intervene.
“Oh no, Mom.” Song Fengwan put on rubber gloves and washed the dishes.
Qiao Aiyun was puzzled. “What’s wrong now? How old is he? Could even your uncle be unable to help him?”
Song Fengwan smiled sheepishly. He…
… really can’t.
In less than a minute, the crisp sound of knocking on a wooden fish echoed in the living room.
Qiao Wangbei was so frightened that his fingers shook. He made a wrong move and was instantly killed by Yan Wangchuan.
“Wangbei, thank you for letting me win,” Yan Wangchuan said calmly.
Qiao Wangbei shot Huai Sheng a cold look. His eyes were closed as he continued to knock on his little wooden fish, not seeing him at all.
He suddenly wanted to go upstairs to get his knife.
His hands were itchy.

Beijing, Duan family residence…
Fu Chen came out of the old residence and went to Yunjin Prime Manor to fetch Fu Xinhan before going to the Duan residence. Duan Linbai was blind and felt bored at home, so it was good to have Fu Xinhan accompany him.
The Duan family lived in the suburbs. It was not a remote area but a true wealthy district.
It wasn’t easy for Xu Jiamu to navigate to the entrance of the villa community. From the iron gates to the enormous mansions and tree-lined avenues, she couldn’t see the end of it at all.
These evil capitalists.
Xu Jiamu took a look at the battery indicator of her electric scooter. Oh no, with this small amount of electricity, I definitely won’t be able to return to the school. She spoke to the security guards at the gates. Because she had called in advance, the security guards immediately let her in.
There were many villas and mansions here, and they were very far apart from one another. It took her more than ten minutes to find the Duan residence.
After parking her scooter, she picked up the medicine and walked in with the blind cane. The main door wasn’t closed. When she stood at the door, a warm breeze blew over, making her feel comfortable.
“Excuse me. Is anyone here?” Xu Jiamu knocked on the door out of politeness.
No one responded.
“Hello? Is anyone here?” Xu Jiamu took another look at the number on the door. She didn’t come to the wrong place.
At this moment, a loud and clear dog bark suddenly sounded. “Woof!”
Xu Jiamu screamed in fright and even dropped the blind cane in her hand, her mind blank. The dog’s barking came from behind her. When she turned around, she only saw a black shadow pouncing toward her.
Her face instantly paled. She couldn’t care less about anything else and ran straight into the house.
“Ah—” When she bumped into a warm body, she jumped onto this person almost subconsciously to seek protection.
But this person staggered twice and couldn’t catch her at all. He fell backward.
Duan Linbai took a deep breath. “Sss—”
F*ck!
Damn, this is going to hurt like hell.
In the end, both of them fell to the ground.
Moreover, Xu Jiamu was sitting astride Duan Linbai in a strange position.
Upon hearing the commotion, the Duan family members ran down from the second floor.
Fearing that Duan Linbai couldn’t see and would knock into stuff, Mrs. Duan had gotten a few servants to buy some sponges, and they were wrapping them around the sharp corners of his room, such as the table and intersections of the walls.
Fu Chen had called earlier, and the door was left open specially for him. But no one had expected Xu Jiamu to arrive first.
When Mrs. Duan dashed downstairs, the scissors in her hand dropped in fright.
What’s going on?
This young lady looks graceful and delicate, but she’s actually so fierce on the first approach?
I truly can’t judge a book by its cover.
This position…
Even at her age, she was too ashamed to look.
“Fu Xinhan.” When Fu Chen caught up, Fu Xinhan was sitting by the side obediently, licking his paws.
When he saw the scene in front of him, his usually calm eyes flashed with astonishment, and then he glanced at Fu Xinhan.
Fu Xinhan let out a bark and lay on the ground without moving. Shiba Inus were endearingly silly and adorable to begin with, so as he kept blinking non-stop, his face looked innocent.
This gaze clearly said: This has nothing to do with me.
“Who the f*ck are you? Hurry up and get off me!” Duan Linbai’s waist was about to break. Damn it! What kind of bad luck have I gotten recently?
One of them was too shocked, and the other was dizzy from being knocked hard to the floor. How could either of them have noticed the problem with their position?
“Sorry.” Xu Jiamu hurriedly jumped away from him and stood at the side in embarrassment. She reached out to tug at her clothes.
“Linbai.” Fu Chen walked over and pulled Duan Linbai up from the floor.
“Who was that just now? She must have weighed at least two hundred pounds. She nearly knocked me flying.” Duan Linbai reached out to rub his waist.
Xu Jiamu’s face was as red as a tomato.
“Sorry, I’m really sorry. I heard the dog barking just now. I…” Xu Jiamu hurriedly explained.
“Fu Xinhan!” Fu Chen frowned. Duan Linbai couldn’t see. This collision could really have caused an accident.
“Wuuu—” Fu Xinhan leaned against Fu Chen and rubbed against his feet.
“Jiamu, right? Didn’t I leave a phone number with you? If you had given me a call, I could have picked you up at the gates of the community. Why did you come here directly? How are you? Did you get hit anywhere? This dog doesn’t bite. Don’t be afraid.” Mrs. Duan smiled.
Duan Linbai was exasperated. “Mom, with me as a cushion, what could she have bumped into? Even my tailbone hurts now.”
“The young lady was scared too. Mental injuries are worse than physical ones.” Mrs. Duan harrumphed.
Duan Linbai was vexed. Is she still my own mother or not?
“I’m really sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose. I’m here to deliver the medicine and this blind cane.” Xu Jiamu hurriedly picked up the items scattered on the floor.
“I wrote down the daily dosages you need to take on a slip of paper. It’s in the bag. You just have to take the medicine after your meals. The ointment has to be applied three times a day. Don’t touch water. This blind cane is for you.” She stuffed the items into Mrs. Duan’s hands.
“Come in and have some tea,” Mrs. Duan frowned. Why is she running off so quickly?
“No need. Young Master Duan, I’m sorry. I’ll be leaving now.” As she spoke, she ran off.
Duan Linbai reached out to rub his butt. She ran off so fast. Is she afraid I’ll make her take responsibility?
***
Xu Jiamu rode the small electric scooter as fast as lightning. In less than two minutes, she realized that there was no more electricity. She hadn’t even gotten out of the community. On her way in just now, she hadn’t seen any place for charging either.
The Duan residence was in the suburbs, and there were no charging stations along the way either. She gritted her teeth and walked back with the scooter to seek help from the Duan family.
Duan Linbai was stroking Fu Xinhan and grinning non-stop. He said he wanted to train him into a guide dog. He put the leash on his neck and walked out.
There was a large lawn in front of his house, and Fu Xinhan was leading him on a stroll on the grass. The grass was flat, so there would be no accidents.
Everyone in the Duan residence was busy wrapping up the protruding corners of the house, so no one followed him.
“Fu Xinhan, you’ll be my eyes from now on. Be good, and I’ll feed you jerky every day.” Duan Linbai followed him forward.
Suddenly, a few dog barks rang out not far away. Fu Xinhan suddenly sped up. Duan Linbai’s fingers didn’t manage to grip the leash in time, and it slipped out of his palm. His pupils constricted slightly.
“Fu Xinhan!”
A few dog barks answered him.
At this moment, he was still holding the blind cane in his hand. He randomly poked the ground twice before taking two more steps.
“Fu Xinhan?”
When Xu Jiamu reached the door of the Duan residence, she saw Duan Linbai standing alone in the courtyard. And the dog was currently…
She instantly blushed.
