Chapter 1341: The New World Order 1
Chapter 1341: The New World Order 1
Previously, he had sent a bunch of core members, numbering only about 60 or so, to the main countries around the world, to act as envoys and supervise things.
Today was the seventh day after Draco's tumultuous announcement of a new world order - which had been delivered with disdain and certainty - an ultimatum that left no room for negotiation. Since then, the world had not known peace.
Prior to this, he had dispatched a force of about sixty or so core members - each a monster among monsters - bearing names and titles whispered with fear and awe in both the real world as well as Boundless.
As we all know, these fellows were not diplomats and they definitely were not negotiators.
Well, they could theoretically negotiate, and some of them were actually even good at it - like Money Lover or Sublime - but they were not there to discuss terms.
They say it is easier to go from frugality to luxury than it is to go from luxury to frugality. Many core members were average blokes whose lives were changed by Draco and Boundless, so after becoming virtually mini-protagonists of their own, their arrogance shot through the roof.
In Boundless, one frown from them and there were hundreds of players and NPCs - even monsters!! - willing to slaughter your entire family just to please them. After tasting such relevance an power, how could they speak nicely and approach things like a normal, sane human would?
Each of them had been assigned a region by Draco, sometimes an entire continent. They were not there to parley, but to enforce the words of Draco.
Their orders were simple, deliver the message, ensure compliance and eliminate resistance.
Nice, clean and easy, right?
Wrong!
You see the nature of humanity was to seek the illusion called 'freedom', even at the risk of safety. It was precisely because of this nature that the Gerdo Galaxy humans were able to stand on top of their region and that the humans on earth could climb up to the top of the food chain.
It wasn't a bad thing when pointed at enemies, but it became quite annoying when pointed at oneself.
Unfortunately for the world, the heroic nature of humanity to overcome adversity when faced with insurmountable challenges through the unbreakable human spirit was unable to withstand the might of sheer bullshit OP fellows with young master personalities.
In France, when Cobra descended upon the Élysée Palace, he was met with an entire battalion of cybernetically-enhanced soldiers gifted with state-sponsored technology that had been their trump card for any new war.
They came armed with precision weapons, simple mechanical modifications, and years of planning.
Cobra only spoke a single phrase - "Fall beneath the glory of Umbra." - and the minds of all who opposed him cracked like porcelain. The entire palace crumbled inwards as if an implosion in space occurred, taking the resistance with it.
The new French government was installed by dusk with Cobra's family at the key positions.
In Egypt, Boyd was ambushed upon entry by a coalition of primordial descendants and militant families that had taken root in the region.
The sand was hot and violent, being controlled by these fellows as the very wind screamed, trying to bury him alive.
In return, Boyd stomped once, releasing a shockwave that liquefied the bones of every attacker within a two-mile radius without directly killing them.
Their screams echoed across Cairo for hours.
In the Central Country - what remained of it - Kiran entered Texas, where paramilitary groups had set up strongholds. They thought that they could handle this golden haired pretty boy, but they were very quickly proven wrong after the first engagement when a beam of orange energy destroyed an entire military base.
By nightfall, the leaders of thirteen separate factions were suspended from lamp posts by rings of glowing energy, their broadcasts hijacked to show their final begging and kowtowing to Kiran on loop.
Entire militia cities and military storngholds surrendered overnight.
Rina Morningstar went to Vatican City, where the Pope and his Cardinals had declared Draco the Antichrist and refused to acknowledge his authority.
Rina entered the inner sanctum without killing a soul, and when she emerged, the entire Vatican had sworn allegiance to Draco.
No one knew what she had said or done, but the Pope's eyes had turned golden, and he now wept tears of devout faith to Draco during daily mass.
The entire situation was was violent and brutal, with many innocent perishing in the mix that the core members tried to account for, but you know the funny thing?
The moment they started showing that they cared, their foes - who claimed to be fighting for the people, turned around and sued the very same people they were fighting for as shields to enhance their battle effectiveness.
The core members were naturally blamed for thi, so for every country that submitted, two more resisted heavily, even if the outcome would not be good.
Entire nations rose in defiance, waving flags and ideologies, claiming Draco's tyranny would never stand.
Media stations churned out propaganda, protest groups formed in cities, and underground resistance networks began to awaken whatever latent weapons they had stockpiled since World War III.
Then the fight between Shuangtian and Riveting suddenly aired.
For the world, there had been no warning, of this, no preamble to build up to it, just the live feed that popped up on their screens while they were squatting behind barricades or waving flags at a rally.
Two colossal figures - one covered in solar brilliance from a full-body susanoo the other transformed into basic multi-elemental golem world boss - dueling in what looked like a clash of deities.
Riveting Night and Shuangtian's battle wasn't framed as entertainment or a joke like how Draco had done his own revelation livestream.
There was no snarky narration, no dramatic movements and aura changes nor was there any breaks or pauses.
It was just the raw and unfiltered reality of two beings beyond their comprehension duking it out classic style for reasons unknown.
Did the people doubt it?
Of course they did.
Even Draco's livestream, more than a few were claiming it was special effects, CIA tricks, KGB or Chinese strategies, or the hidden families of the world distracting us so they could build another island for diddling kids.
However, their disbelief gave way to understanding when they literally saw the two beings clash with their fist to sword and the ground beneath their feet literally shifted like someone banged a table with a cup on it.
It was even more believable when they fearfully saw spatial distortions appearing around the globe, either swallowing people whole or cleaning buildings or property.
No matter how much of a mainstream media news lover or government trusting NPC one was, they couldn't deny a space crack opening up near them and swallowing their dog into the folds of the void, crushing it into paste.
That wasn't even the worst part.
What really drove it home was Draco's silhouette, standing there with arms folded, watching them like an ordinary man watching his wives practice dance moves in the backyard.
It broke the world.
In New Delhi, a high-ranking general dropped his rifle and fell to his knees, mumbling prayers to a woman he had just seen for the first time.
His entire division followed suit.
In Berlin, a resistance cell that had taken Gremory hostage by tricking her with pictures of Draco released her on the spot, offering medical aid and quietly apologizing as they handed over the reins of their territory to the still confused young maiden.
In Seoul, where Uno had been stalemated by a highly advanced plasma grid defense, the defenders unplugged their systems in unison and opened the gates, placing welcome banners that simply read: 'We saw the light.'
The most dramatic shift happened in Russia.
The so-called 'Bear Country' of the 'Blue Planet' had refused Draco's edict and fortified the Siberian wastes, calling themselves the last bulwark of human freedom. They had amassed all sorts of powers and personnel, state-level artifacts from who knows where, even fragments of nuclear options.
But after twenty seconds of watching Eva and Shuangtian rewrite the laws of physics, they didn't just surrender.
They fled.
The leadership of the countries that fought too hard to be forgiven evacuated into the Arctic, likely never to be heard from again. When the core member in charge of those areas arrived, there was nothing left but a note that said: 'Sorry. We were wrong. Please don't follow us.'
The psychological impact of the duel was immeasurable.
The public didn't just lose the will to fight, they lost the ability to conceptualize victory, even as a joke. Some fellows went to sleep and woke up bruised and battered, beaten up in their dreams which transferred to reality through their sheer belief in its vivacity.
If this was the might of his wives alone, who were generally thought to be weaker than him by a level, then what about the fellow himself who had stood between them, calm and untouched?
Overnight, the tone of the world changed.
Where once there were cries of rebellion, there were now murmurs of reverence.
Where flags of resistance had flown, new ones bearing Umbra's emblem were raised on school buildings, on city halls, on digital spaces.
The world has metaphorically bent over in obeisance to the coming of its new sovereign. The era of humanity was here, unified under the might of one new, and decisively cruel, leader!
...............
The World Council had a summit location in the Alps. This was their highest class location with the best technology, enabling anyone from anywhere to come and experience the state of the world in 2070 with ease.
The place was already quite packed and stuffed, with countless dignitaries coming over in their land cruisers driven by their chauffeurs, ready to disembark and witness the birth of a new era.
And of course, the press were here too, in their multitudes. Whether it was the legacy media with their misplaced self-confidence and arrogance, or the digital media who rose up recently, both factions were present.
In the lead due to influence and relevance in these past few days was naturally Nadia, the girl from Supernatural.
After the truth of the world had been revealed and the World Council dismounted, David Collin had given her the order to disseminate news of the various factions bit by bit to the world, allowing people to easily digest what Draco revealed.
And that led to people noting the mist important faction of them all, who arrived through various unique means, the cameras rolling as they pointed at them revealing their presences to the whole world.
The Lineages!
When Draco had done that livestream revealing everything, at first the members of the Lineages were panicked. They had hidden away from the public eyes precisely because things had changed and they no longer had their supreme backers around to give them courage.
Now, even a mere World Council could threaten their lives, so they opted to lay low and hope that something changed while trying to desperately maintain their legacy.
So being outed like that left them feeling panicked, as if they had been stripped naked in the middle of the street with the wind blowing between their metaphorical dongers, with everyone being able to take a look and pointing over.
Wait… why did it feel kind of exciting?
Cough cough…
Anyway, the alarm slowly gave way to relaxation as they saw Draco take down their biggest threat, also realizing that he had achieved progenitor level power. Even if their lineages were not all united, they still had the same background, so Draco could also be somewhat counted as their backing.
So in tandem with the revelation, many of the functional lineages came out to announce themselves and their existence.
The Merlin Lineage proudly stood atop the Buckingham Palace and released countless spells into the sky, shocking London now and forevermore.
The Buddha Lineage descended from the mountains and preformed many miracles using their Noble Energy, revered as Arhats and Bodhisattvas by the people of India.
The Zeus Lineage revealed Olympus to the world, shocking the entirety of mainland Europe who saw the heavens light up with thunder!
Unfortunately, the Morrigan, Anansi and Ilah lineages were too broken and splintered in the modern age to form a cohesive core. Gage had been largely tasked with gathering the remnants of these Lineages together but he was stumped by this herculean task.
