Chapter 868 - Their Hands Are Rough, Yours Are Smooth
Chapter 868: Their Hands Are Rough, Yours Are Smooth
Uncle Han stood by his side and said, “Mr. Jiang, when Officer Nian and the other officers arrive, please do not only stare at Officer Nian. You need to greet the other officers too. Otherwise, they will misunderstand Officer Nian.”
Jiang Yuning’s eyes showed a confused look. He lowered his head to find a pen, but he was still holding a shumai. At last, he put the Shumai in Uncle Han’s hands, and wrote—’Misunderstand what?’
Uncle Han gave a bitter smile. He wondered when Mr. Jiang would like to start talking.
“They might think that you are fond of her, or, you like her.”
Jiang Yuning nodded, and wrote—’I do like her.’
Uncle Han smiled bitterly again, and then explained, “But, it’ll be inappropriate for her colleagues to know about it. Officer Nian wasn’t selected for the mission at first. I asked the police station to replace another officer with her. The others might think she pulled strings to get the job. Last time when they came here, her colleagues misunderstood her.”
Jiang Yuning looked at Mr. Han confused, without fully understanding his words.
Uncle Han sighed. For Jiang Yuning, science projects were never difficult, but interpersonal relationships were mission impossible. “Anyway, you need to listen to me. If you don’t want to bring her trouble, don’t stare at her.”
Jiang Yuning frowned with his pretty eyebrows.
He wasn’t happy about that, but still, he nodded. He didn’t want to bring her trouble.
About ten minutes later, an off-road-car was driven into the institution. Nian Xi and three men came out of the car together.
It was the first time Zhan Hong and the other two police officers saw Jiang Yuning so closely. According to his personal files, he was twenty-nine years old. However, he looked only about twenty-two.
His face was delicate, and his skin was snow-white. In comparison, they all looked very rough.
However, none of them dared to make light of him. Instead, they all looked at him with deep admiration.
“Mr. Jiang, good to see you. My name is Zhan Hong. I am the squad leader, responsible for your safety.” Zhan Hong walked up to shake Jiang Yuning’s hand.
Jiang Yuning was a little distracted. Recalling what Uncle Han just said to him, he tried to focus and to talk to Zhan Hong. But still, he only heard Zhan Hong’s name, but nothing else.
Only when Uncle Han pushed him slightly did he shake Zhan Hong’s hand, as if he just woke up from a dream.
Nian Xi was surprised.
Jiang Yuning actually listened to someone else talking!
After shaking the hands of the other police officers, he turned to Nian Xi.
Nian Xi said to him, “We’ve met each other before. So I guess we don’t need to shake hands.”
Jiang Yuning didn’t listen to her, reaching out his hand. Nian Xi had no choice but to shake it.
After a few seconds of handshaking, Nian Xi tried to pull away. However, she found that she couldn’t.
She was a little embarrassed, as her colleagues were right beside her.
“Let go of me…” she warned him with a low voice that only the two of them could hear.
Jiang Yuning lowered his head, looking at his hand and hers. He was distracted again.
Nian Xi had no choice but to forcibly pull away her hand.
She then glanced at her colleagues. Zhan Hong and Fang Qi had turned their eyes away. Only Huo Lizhi was looking at her sarcastically. That made Nian Xi feel uncomfortable and repulsed.
Jiang Yuning spent a short while staring at his empty hand, then wrote a note for Nian Xi—’Their hands are rough. Yours is smooth.’
Nian Xi didn’t know what to say.
Fang Qi said jokingly, “Nian Xi, are you having a secret conversation with Mr. Jiang?”
Nian Xi felt embarrassed. At that very moment, she felt lucky that he did not like talking. If he said that out loud, the three male officers would be offended. It would also sound like that he was trying to flirt with her.
Uncle Han explained with a smile, “It’s not a secret conversation. Mr. Jiang doesn’t like talking. Talking is very exhausting for him, so he normally communicates with people by writing.”
